Chodov shopping center in Prague how to get there. Prague shopping centers

Everyone has their own Prague. Anyone who was there at Christmas found it frosty and spicy, in summer it was warm and bright, in autumn it was slightly rainy and romantic. The most beautiful woman has something to show and treat her guests. The incredibly cozy atmosphere of the city is captivating: a little melancholic and mysterious, but pleasant and friendly.

The Gothic architecture of Prague is intertwined with the buildings of modern shopping centers, cobblestone streets with major highways, original home cooking with original solutions.

Some people go to the Czech Republic to touch history, visit ancient castles and museums, while others come to try legendary beer, wander through numerous shops and bring home something special, exclusively Czech.

In order not to think for a long time about where to shop, we offer a short guide to Prague shopping centers and shops.

Palladium

The most famous and one of the largest shopping centers in Prague is the Palladium shopping center. It is located in the Praha 1 zone, in the very center of the city, near the metro station "Republic Square" (Náměsti Republiky), which is located at nám. Republiky, 1.

If you follow the signs, you can get to the shopping center directly from the subway or take tram No. 26, 14, 8 or 5 to the stop with the already familiar name Náměsti Republiky. You won’t have to look long for the Palladium shopping center - it’s a catchy old building, the façade of which is painted in a “delicious” Marsala color. But appearances are deceiving; inside the historical building there are five floors of an ultra-modern shopping mall.

The number of stores is amazing - 180 departments with fashionable clothes from famous European brands, cosmetics, men's and women's perfumes, stylish accessories, household appliances, books... Seafood lovers should stop on the ground floor, in the Seafood shop grocery store. Here you can find the freshest delicacies for your future culinary masterpieces.

On the fifth floor there are 20 cafes, bars and restaurants with national Czech, Italian, Indian, Asian, and other world cuisine. You can be sure: it’s impossible to leave here hungry and without shopping!

Chodov

In the Praha 4 area, at Roztylská, 2321/19 there is a shopping center "Chodov". Prague is rich in large stores not only in the city center, but also in more remote areas. You can get to the shopping center by going to the Chodov metro station on the red line or by bus No. 177, 511, 115, 193, 135, 197, H1.

In this shopping center you can not only do shopping, but also visit a fitness club, play bowling, billiards or slot machines.

The shopping center offers its customers a choice of both mass-produced products and stores with luxury products. Clothing, perfumes, jewelry from many famous world brands: Michal Kors, Zara, Tom Tailor, Miss Sixty, l'Occitane, Sephora and many others.

Palace Flora

Shopping center "Flora" is the youngest mall in the city. It's worth going here if, in between shopping, you plan to visit one of the two 3D cinemas: Cinema City or Oskar iMax, or get your fingers done at the local nail salon.

On the ground floor you can find all the necessary products for the kitchen and home in the Home & Cook store. During the next three, don’t miss the chance to bring crystal and glass items, beautiful lace, and elegant jewelry from the capital of the Czech Republic. You will find "Flora" at Vinohradska 144, Praha 3.

Letnany

Letnany Shopping Center, Prague 9, Veselská, 663. This shopping mall is located far from the city center, but you can safely spend the whole day here with the whole family. On site, you can visit the fitness center, go ice skating at any time of the year on the indoor ice skating rink, or have a good time in the aqua zone. Many bars and cafes with a variety of cuisines will not let you get hungry.

And, of course, shopping: Bershka, Mustang, Next, Esprit and many more European and Western brands of stylish clothing, cosmetics, perfumes, and jewelry.

Novy Smichov

"New Smichov", 5. Located almost in the very center of the city, Plzeňská, 8, Anděl metro station. You can also take tram No. 6, 4, 10, 20, 58, 7, 9, 14, 54, 59 to the stop of the same name.

This mall is notable for the fact that it houses the famous Tesco grocery and household hypermarket. Here you can find everything your soul desires: the freshest meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, aromatic pastries and sweets for every taste. As well as household goods, household chemicals, hair, face and body care cosmetics.

Also in this shopping center you can buy garden and apartment furniture, jewelry, shoes and clothes from the latest collections of famous brands. It’s better to relax after hours of shopping in a multiplex cinema.

Outlet

The largest outlet in Prague - Fashion Arena Outlet Center - is located on the outskirts, in the Praha 10 area, at Průmyslová, 440. You can get to this paradise for shopaholics by taking a free bus that departs from the Depo Hostivař metro station, located on the green line.

The discounts are amazing; hundreds of brands such as Lacoste, Levi's, Tommy Hilfiger, Benetton are selling products at more than affordable prices. Here you can buy a high-quality leather bag, a branded winter jacket or sports sneakers from a famous sports brand with a discount of up to 70%. One drawback is that the area is so large that one day is unlikely to be enough to walk around the entire shopping center. Therefore, if your goal is to raid an outlet in Prague, book a room in the Prague 10 area and visit the Fashion Arena in two or three visits.

A few more addresses for profitable purchases:

  • Clothes for sports and leisure at Outlet Sport Factory. The store is located in Prague 9, Skorkovska.
  • Clothing for women - Butik The Item is located at Zatecka, 8.
  • Clothes for the whole family - Outlet factory. Can be found at Elisky Peskove, 5.

Parizka street

If hunting for discounts is not your option, and you are going to Europe for the latest luxury brands, then do not pass by Paris Street (Prague). There are no shopping centers or inexpensive souvenir shops on this street. The most famous and expensive boutiques are located here: Chanel, Dior, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Gucci, Prada and others. Each season, the assortment is replenished with new collections, and items from previous seasons are sent to outlets. Also in restaurants on Parizhskaya you can drink a cup of coffee for the price of a full meal, and have lunch for the price of shoes from H&M.

Of course, there are seasonal sales in these boutiques, but still, such shopping cannot be called economical.

Czech cosmetics

If you ask women who have already been to the Czech Republic: “What to buy in Prague?”, they will unanimously answer - Manufaktura!

"Manufactory" is natural cosmetic and soap self made. The main ingredients of cosmetics are: beer, Movar wine, Dead Sea salts and medicinal herbs. Cosmetics have a rejuvenating effect, perfectly cleanses and moisturizes the skin, and beer-based shampoos accelerate hair growth and make curls shiny and dense.

The brand has stylishly designed gift sets that you can bring to your family and friends. And of course, don't forget about yourself. Today, Manufactura products can be purchased in domestic online stores, but it is much more pleasant and reliable to purchase them in the very heart of the Czech Republic.

You can buy brand products in the Manufaktura boutique at Melantrichova 17, Prague. Shopping centers also sell these cosmetics in perfumery and cosmetics departments, and it will not be difficult to find them.

Beer

And if the question is: “What to buy in Prague?” ask men, they will answer: “Definitely beer!”

The Czech Republic is famous for its brewing, and even those who were skeptical about this drink admit that Czech beer is worthy of attention. Light, dark, filtered, unfiltered, for every taste of connoisseurs and for beginners to try. Small private breweries in Prague are on almost every corner, so there is no point in describing them all, you need to try!

And you can bring with you as souvenirs beautiful pictures straight from the capital of brewing, which depict beautiful Gothic Prague. Shopping centers always have departments with souvenirs, and that’s where you’ll find them.

Bata shoes

Czech shoes “Bata” are the embodiment of European style: laconic, practical and very high quality. The brand produces shoes for men, women and children for all seasons. These are summer sandals and clogs, shoes for special occasions, comfortable sneakers, stylish moccasins, practical rubber shoes, and warm winter shoes.

The largest store is located on It is simply impossible to pass by the six-story building with the huge Bata sign. And all these six floors are a store where “Bata” shoes are sold, two floors of women’s shoes and one each for men’s and children’s. You won’t be able to leave there without new loafers or sneakers, and you probably won’t want to.

The brand's shoes can be found in smaller quantities in almost all shopping centers. It’s hard to imagine shopping in Prague without buying a real pair of comfortable Czech shoes.

Symbols of Prague

Another way to spend money in Prague is to buy a souvenir that represents the city or country. Remember the children's cartoon about a cute mole and his friends? Invented in the 50s by Zdenek Miller, it has become a real symbol of the Czech Republic. In any shopping center or souvenir shop in Prague you will find dishes, bags, watches, pillows, key chains with the image of a Czech mole, as well as plush toys, from small to very large.

Another souvenir that will delight your child is a handmade puppet doll. Heroes of national fairy tales, animal figurines, and good witches will become an original gift for a modern child, and adults will not refuse to decorate the interior with such a stylish souvenir from Czech masters.

Jewelry from the Czech Republic was once highly valued by fashionistas of the Soviet Union. Priorities have changed since then, but the quality and elegance of Czech jewelry have not. The special charm is that the natural stones (garnets and vltavin) from which the products are made are mined here in the Czech Republic. Local jewelers know how to set stones correctly and in what metals to make them look noble and expensive.

If you still don’t know where in Europe you can buy porcelain or crystal dishes, then this is Prague. Shopping centers offer products made from Czech porcelain and this will be a wonderful gift for connoisseurs of tableware made in a classic style, for example, a mother or grandmother. However, such exquisite things can decorate even the most modern interior.

Discount seasons in Prague

You can go to Prague for bargain shopping four times a year. The most generous month for discounts is December. At the end of the year, almost all stores strive to clear the shelves of last year's goods for a new assortment.

You need to build your summer wardrobe in April; it is in this month that you can buy summer dresses and shoes from new collections at a decent discount. The second wave of sales of summer collections begins at the end of July and lasts exactly a month. During this period, it is better to take basic light items and accessories that will always be in fashion.

Autumn sales in Prague are the quietest, but there is still a chance to buy an autumn coat, and if you're lucky, even a winter coat at a bargain price. From the beginning of October and for two or three weeks, the discounts are not very large, and if you plan to save big, it is better to wait until the end of the year.

Shopping in the Czech capital, as a rule, has three directions. The first is this street of designer boutiques Parizska, located in the very center of the city. The best brand boutiques in Prague are concentrated here: Chanel, Hermes, Christian Diоr, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Escada and others. The second shopping route, more democratic, is laid out on Wenceslas Square, where the Prague shopping street Na Prikope begins. And finally, the third option for shopping in the capital of the Czech Republic is the large shopping centers of Prague. There are quite a few of them in the city, but due to the similar assortment, there is no point in visiting them all at once, especially if you are in a hurry.

Shopping center "Palladium"

The Palladium shopping center in Prague is the largest in the city. This huge five-story complex, which opened in 2007, is built on foundations with a 12th-century structure. But tourists are attracted not only by the historical value of the building of the Palladium shopping center. There are all possibilities for profitable shopping and just a pleasant pastime: more than 200 shops and 20 themed restaurants and cute cafes.

On the ground floor of the center there are grocery supermarkets “DM” and “Albert”, as well as a seafood store “Seafoodshop”. The second floor is occupied by brand boutiques in Prague: C&A, Bata, Tally Weill, Mixer, Office shoes, Kenvelo, H&M, Jeans club, Time Out, Pimkie. Everything here is like other megamalls in Prague, but there are differences. Here there is a specialized cosmetics store Manufactura, a huge sports store, and the official representative office of Apple - the iStyle store.

Despite the distance of the Metropol Zlicin shopping center from the city center (Revnicka 1, Praha 5), getting to it by metro is quite convenient. Terminal station of the yellow metro line Zličin. After reaching the surface, a traffic light and entrance are immediately visible to the left and ahead. For motorists there is convenient free parking, where instead of the usual rows and places the cities are indicated: Paris, Milan, Vienna... Opening hours: 10-21 daily, the cinema closes at midnight.

Shopping center "Palac Flora"

The Flora shopping center is not located in the center of the capital, but this does not affect its popularity in the city. On the ground floor of the complex there is a large supermarket – “Albert” and a household utensils store “Home&Cook”. The next three floors are reserved for brand boutiques (Bat, Ecco, Lacoste, Esprit, Miss Sixty, Orsay, Levis, Promod, Puma, Billabong, Camaieu, Kenvelo, Lee & Wrangler, Reserve, Pierre Cardin Shoes, Sergio Tacchini, Vagabond, Max Mara and others). Above are office premises.

The Flora shopping center in Prague is located at Vinohradska 144, Praha 3. Opening hours: 9-21 (weekdays), 9-19 (Sat), 11-19 (Sun).

In the three-story building you will find more than 150 different stores, including: Tesco supermarket, Dataart electronics store, Idea Dekor household goods, Botonland music store, as well as boutiques of the Gant, Guess, C&A and Zara brands. , Marks and Spencer, etc. The center also has a children's playground, bowling alley, cinema and Safir food court.

The Novy Smičhov complex is located at Plzenska 8, Praha 5, near the Andel metro station. Opening hours: 7-24 (Tesco supermarket), 9-21 (boutiques).

Shopping Park Avion

Huge area. In the center there are parking lots and restaurants with summer verandas and children's playgrounds. Lots of greenery. It really is a park. And along the perimeter there are large and smaller shops and shopping complexes. There are IKEA, TESCO, DatArt, BABY-PARK, several stores with sports and casual clothing.

The most convenient way to get there is by car, but hikers don’t have much to worry about either. After exiting the Zličin metro station (the end of the yellow line), go to the bus stop of the same name (to the right). Find a site with the sign IKEA/AVION and wait for the free bus, which runs on a schedule at least once every 30 minutes.

Shopping center "Černá růže"

One of the best shopping centers in Prague is the Černá růže complex, which occupies two buildings built in 1830 and 1840. Black Rose has more than 50 shops and several good restaurants. Shopping center address: Na prikope 12. Opening hours are identical to the Flora shopping center.

Shopping center "Myslbek"

Myslbek is one of the first shopping centers in Prague, opened in 1996. Located in the center on the busy street Na prikope 12, in the Praha 1 area. The complex has about 30 boutiques (GANT, Korres, Next, Mothercare and others) and several restaurants. The store is open from 9 to 20.00 (Mon – Sat), from 10 to 19 (Sun).

Shopping center EUROPARK

If you have already been to the Fashion Arena, then you obviously saw huge letters on the right with the name of this shopping center. We warn you right away, do not try to reach it on foot - this is unrealistic. An interweaving of highways, roundabouts and interchanges without pedestrian crossings and sidewalks will make this undertaking not only in vain, but also dangerous. It is better to return to the Depo Hostivar stop and from there take a regular bus marked EUROPARK. Be careful, this bus is not free, so you must have an unexpired loan with you.

The same variety of boutiques and brands awaits you here. Distinctive features: a huge grocery supermarket on the 1st floor, a chic children's play area, a plus size clothing store, a fairly large children's store. Almost all the stores in the shopping center are two-story.

In Prague there are a lot of different shopping centers, galleries, separate streets with boutiques, squares with shops, and so on. Choosing one or more places for shopping from such an assortment is quite difficult, especially when you don’t know what exactly you want to buy. Today I want to talk about shopping in Prague and where we managed to shop successfully!

Shopping center "Chodov"

The first place to go for shopping in Prague is biggest shopping center of the city "Chodov" (Chodov). The shopping center Chodov is located in the Prague 4 area. The most convenient way to get there is by metro along the red line (line C) to the station of the same name "Chodov". I wrote a post about how to use the Prague metro; there is also a metro map there.

This shopping center contains the most a large number of stores - 212 units (!!!), among them there are well-known brands Zara, Mango, Pull and Beer, Stradivarius, Pandora, Stefanel, Michael Kors, Armani Jeans and a huge number of other very interesting stores. You can go crazy there)

If you are looking for a specific store, look at the entire list at official website shopping center Chodov. There are also professional cosmetics stores there, such as MAC, INGLOT, SEPHORA, Douglas. Shopping in Prague in such a center is a pleasure, its territory is huge, there is no crowd and not many people.

Do not forget to ask the seller to issue a receipt for tax free if your purchases in one store amount to more than 2000 CZK. Read my post about how to apply for a tax free refund at Prague airport.

Shopping center "Palladium"

In my opinion, this is the most popular shopping place in Prague, all thanks to its location, it is located in the very center, in the Prague 1 district. You can also reach it by metro, taking the yellow line (line B) and getting off at the station "Náměstí Republiky" (Republic Square). It's funny, but in appearance the Palladium looks more like an ordinary building and doesn't look like a shopping center at all!

This center is always crowded. Palladium even publishes its own glossy magazine with seasonal collections of products offered by the center's stores. Of the stores I came across for the first time, I would like to mention the affordable British brand F&F. I liked the range, quality and prices. You can study the full list of stores. Palladium also gives out tax free checks!

Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square is a good option for leisurely shopping, when, while walking around the city, you suddenly want to dive into a couple of shops and buy yourself something interesting. Vaclavka also has a very large assortment of souvenirs. Gifts from Prague are definitely worth bringing from Vaclavka! On Wenceslas Square you will meet the well-known Czech shoe store Bata (very popular among Europeans, you should definitely check it out), Promod, Salamander, H&M, Marks&Spencer, Sephora and many others! You can get to Wenceslas Square by metro on the yellow or green line to the Můstek station.

Happy shopping in Prague!
