ZTE Blade L4 is a relatively inexpensive smartphone that is interesting with its 4G support. It was released in 2015, sold at prices ranging from 93 to 112 USD (current at the time of writing the review).
There is often confusion with the labeling of this smartphone due to the lack of reliable information on the manufacturer’s official website. To be clear, this review will cover ZTE model Blade L4 labeled A460. The L4 Pro model labeled T610 is practically the same in appearance, but has slightly improved characteristics.
The smartphone looks simple, the body is made of plastic (not glossy, but fingerprints remain easily). The case width is 72.8 mm, height is 145.5 mm, and thickness is 9.4 mm. The weight of the device is 165 g.

The technical stuff is very budget-friendly, but support for 2 SIM, 4G and Android 5.1 can attract the attention of a potential buyer, thanks to the price of the smartphone.
CPU
The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909-4 (4 cores, 1.1 GHz). The Adreno 304 video chip is responsible for the graphics. The performance of the device is at the level of “normal operation in the interface and applications, but games can also be run.” That is, you can shoot in “Tanks” and drive in Asphalt 8 without problems, but not on maximum settings graphics.
However, one must not miss the point that some instances often freeze; rebooting or resetting the settings helps, but, as a rule, not for long. The problem is not noticed by all users, but it occurs quite often. It is still unclear whether this is due to software or hardware.
Memory
There is only 8 GB of built-in memory, of which even less is available for use. This volume is enough for applications, but for heavy games it’s a stretch. Moreover, if the game can be transferred to a flash drive, then the cache cannot; the ZTE Blade L4 does not provide such an option. There is a slot for microSD (up to 32 GB).
Volume random access memory- 1 GB. In most cases, this is enough to run several applications simultaneously and ensure normal operation of the interface. As mentioned earlier, this model has performance problems, so when purchasing, you need to carefully test it, preferably for a long time, loading the device with various tasks.
Autonomous operation
You shouldn't expect good battery life from this smartphone. A 2200 mAh battery allows the device to work without recharging for a maximum of 1 daylight hours under normal load (half an hour of calls, a little Internet surfing using WiFi, a couple of dozen photos, synchronization with various services and messengers). In a more gentle mode, the phone will last a day and a half.
Camera
The smartphone has 2 cameras: the main one is 8 megapixels, and the front one is 5 megapixels. Perhaps the resolution has been increased by software (interpolation), and the main camera has a real 5 MP. In the camera interface you can find various modes and a variety of settings. The shooting quality is mediocre, consistent budget smartphone. The main module copes poorly with macro photography; there is a lot of noise in the photographs. This problem disappears when shooting using flash.
In the daytime, the video camera copes well with shooting; at night, you should not expect good results.
Display
The 5-inch screen has a TFT matrix with a resolution of 480x854. Viewing angles are far from the best; even with slight turns and tilts, the contrast of the picture is lost and the colors are inverted. The brightness changes unevenly; when you move the brightness adjustment slider within a certain range, the backlight level remains unchanged, and the maximum brightness margin is weak. Since the screen module is very budget-friendly, there is no oleophobic coating or protective glass.
Networking capabilities
The radio module can work with two SIM cards, one of them can access 4G networks. 2G/3G standards are also supported. Everything is in order with the operation of the navigation module, the satellite detection time is at an acceptable level, and the location determination is quite accurate. However, GLONASS is not supported.
Sound
The main and conversational speakers can be given an average score in terms of volume and sound quality. There is no particular volume or quality here, but nothing bad can be said about this.
Software part
L4 A460 runs under Android control 5.1. Built into the firmware various applications and services from the Beeline operator, which in a standard way You can't remove it, you can only freeze it. Updating the software version is possible via special utility, however, relying on Android 6 is a naive exercise.
Pros and cons of ZTE Blade L4
Pros:
- more or less affordable price;
- 4G support (for a device with such a price tag this is not bad).
Minuses:
- low quality screen;
- many copies have problems with freezing;
- it is not possible to install games and applications on external card(transfer only, no cache);
- official firmware with a lot of pre-installed software, lack of alternative firmware.

Also in my city after calling operator Yota the network crashed on 3g and did not pick up until the reboot, but in other, larger cities there was no such problem. RESULT: the phone is good for the price, the only negative is that the battery is not very strong, so I solved this problem with an external battery.

I must say that the glass was installed well, so the problem is with the phone. There is an assumption that the problem is solely with my phone, because I came across such a problem with few users on the forums. - Touch buttons do not respond to touches if the phone is lying on the table and not held in your hand. This is a feature of this model. In general, not critical. - 1 GB of RAM. Applications being developed require more and more RAM with each update. If you don't update applications and disable all those that you don't use, it will be fine. - The camera is average, but for budget phone As the L4 Pro is, you shouldn't expect anything better. - Lack of ability to use OTG. Not critical at all. I would like to add about the battery. This is a feature of any Android gadget. There are hardly many smartphone models about which users would say that the battery is enough (my opinion).

Cool phone. I like it more after the previous 2 flies. I bought it at the beginning of July for 7000 rubles. Someone wrote about a flawed shell with a bias for iOS. I have it from the factory regular android 5.1 with standard shell. Touch buttons work in any position. The phone is not tied to an operator and the firmware is from the manufacturer, and not with a set of software from mobile operator. And by the way, don’t confuse this phone with the zte blade l4 - the filling is different. The camera is normal. I have enough. The touch buttons on the edges can be swapped in the settings. Which is what I did, because... I'm used to pressing the back button on the right. There is no information in the description what it is led indicator notifications. But in vain. How I missed it in 2 previous phones. In general, the device is worth the money. I recommend for purchase.

Using it for 2 months. In general, there are no complaints. And as it was described here, this is not so or that way. Don't be confused Pro version with just L4. What else. The build quality is quite satisfactory. There are no backlashes or scripts like there were on my previous L4 phone after 4 days of use. I don’t know, but I installed it right in the salon protective glass and everything works great. In general, the conclusion is this: the overall rating is 4+ because of the battery.
