Sony Xperia or Huawei. Smartphones with the best camera: Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium or Huawei P20 Pro

Huawei / Huawei is a leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer. At the end of 2017, Huawei accounted for 9.6% of smartphone sales in the world, second only to Samsung (22.8%) and Apple (15.3%). Considering that Huawei's share in the global market is constantly growing, and Apple's share is gradually falling, we can predict that in the coming years, Huawei will overtake the Apple company in sales and will take second place in the world. Unlike many Chinese brands that have relied on budget models, Huawei is not afraid to compete with the same Apple and Samsung in the segment of premium models. To increase the appeal of its brand, Huawei is collaborating with established Western companies: Google (jointly released Nexus 6P), Leica (cameras for flagship models), GoPro (exclusive mobile app Quik for fast video processing).

The following review of the best smartphones from the Chinese brand will help you choose the best Huawei model for purchase in 2019. The top 10 is based on reviews in Yandex Market, technical specifications and the price-quality ratio.

Battery capacity - 3090 mAh. 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 MSM8939v2 processor. There is a fingerprint scanner.

The 13-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash performs the functions of both the main and the front due to the fact that it is installed in a folding module that can be moved from the rear panel to the front. Thanks to this, Huawei ShotX is one of the best selfie phones in the world, because... The front camera on most smartphones is much worse quality, than the main one, and does not have a flash and autofocus.

7 Huawei Nova

There are two main cameras at once. They use 12-megapixel sensors (Sony IMX286), one of which captures the colors of the image being captured, and the second reads monochrome information. The resulting data is then programmatically combined and written to the resulting files. Huawei emphasizes that the famous German camera company Leica took part in the creation of the camera (for example, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev uses a Leica camera). The front camera has an 8 megapixel sensor.

5 Huawei Mate 8 32Gb is the most popular Huawei phone in China

The average price in Russia is 33,000 rubles. Buy Huawei Mate 8 32Gb on AliExpress can be purchased for 20.5 thousand rubles. This tablet phone is currently the model with the largest screen from Huawei, as well as the most popular Huawei model in China in 2017 (data from antutu.com). The model has currently scored 72% of fives according to reviews in Yandex Market. Technical characteristics: 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 6.0 operating system, 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards, support for a memory card up to 128 GB. Battery capacity - 4000 mAh (this is the most powerful battery in our rating). Main camera 16 MP, front camera 8 MP. 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. There is a fingerprint scanner.

Mate 8 is Huawei's best in various respects, including price: it is the most expensive, which prevents it from claiming first place in terms of price-quality ratio.

4 Honor 6X 32Gb

The average price in Russia is 14,900 rubles. You can buy Honor 6X 32Gb on AliExpress for 10.4 thousand rubles (delivery to Russia is free). The new product of the most popular Honor family appeared in Russia in January 2019 and today has received 59% of five reviews in Yandex Market. Technical characteristics: 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 6.0 operating system, 32 GB of storage (23.40 GB available to the user) and 3 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards, the slot for the second SIM card is combined with a slot for a memory card . Battery capacity - 3340 mAh. At the same time, the phone is equipped with the latest 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor, so Honor 6X is able to work longer without recharging than many competitors with comparable battery capacity. The manufacturer promised up to 11.5 hours battery life when watching videos, up to 70 hours of listening to music, up to 8 hours of games. There is a fingerprint scanner. New fingerprint features let you view photos (simply swipe left or right), turn off alarms (press and hold the scanner), take selfies, or make calls with one touch.

Metal body with curved glass at the edges. Eye Protection Mode reduces harmful UV rays from the screen, preventing eye fatigue.

The main thing that attracts attention in Honor 6X is the dual main camera. Huawei was the first to equip its flagships with a dual camera; last year, the 7th iPhone took the baton; however, of the mid-price segment models, only Xiaomi Redmi Pro can boast of a dual camera. Returning to the Honor 6X, we see that the top sensor is a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with phase detection autofocus and LED flash, focusing speed is only 0.3 seconds. This sensor is also distinguished by an increased size of the photosensitive pixel to 1.25 nm with Prim ISP technology for isolating individual pixels. Thanks to this, there is surprisingly little color noise in the pictures and very natural color rendition. The lower monochrome sensor has 2 megapixels. At first glance, this is very little. Even Xiaomi Redmi Pro has a 5 MP secondary module, not to mention the flagship Honor 8, where the second module has the same resolution as the first - 12 MP. However, Huawei explains that a 2 megapixel bottom sensor is quite enough, because his task is to capture as much as possible more light, since monochrome matrices are much more sensitive than color ones. The camera combines the light from the lower sensor with the color of the upper one and produces very high-quality photos even in low light conditions. In addition, thanks to the dual camera, Honor 6X can do what the creators of the 7th iPhone boasted about - bokeh (that is, the ability to beautifully blur the background in a photo). There is another interesting feature - selective color filling will allow you to place color accents on black and white photos.

The 8 MP front camera is equipped with a 77° wide-angle lens and a Prim image processor. There is a face detection function. Without autofocus, at the same time, according to reviews, it takes selfies very well.

3 Honor 8 Pro 6GB/64GB

The average price in Russia is 34,000 rubles. You can buy Huawei Honor 8 Pro 64Gb on AliExpress for 27.2 thousand rubles (delivery to Russia is free). When buying in China, you should pay attention to the different model names in different markets: in China it is Honor V9, and in Russia and Europe the same model is sold as Honor 8 Pro.

The new flagship of the Huawei sub-brand went on sale in April 2019. As of today, the model has scored 57% of fives according to reviews in Yandex Market.

Technical characteristics of the model: 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, Android 7.0 operating system, 64 GB of permanent and 6 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards, the slot for the second SIM card is combined with a slot for a memory card up to 128 GB. Battery capacity 4000 mAh. Battery life in talk mode is 16 hours, in gaming mode 3 hours 15 minutes, in video mode 6 hours 45 minutes, in standby mode 453 hours. As we can see, despite the impressive battery capacity, the huge screen plays its role, discharging much faster than with standard screen sizes. So this smartphone cannot be called long-lasting. Octa-core Kirin 960 processor own development with Mali-G71 MP8 graphics accelerator. Fingerprint scanner on the back panel.

Unlike the Huawei P9 or Huawei P10, the flagship of the Honor family does not have the Leica logo, and also uses a combination of two sensors: monochrome, which captures light information, and RGB color. The color resolution is 12 megapixels, and the monochrome resolution is also 12 megapixels. Dual LED flash, laser focusing and phase comparison focusing. Aperture f/2.2. The front camera has an 8 megapixel sensor.

The portal hi-tech.mail.ru in June 2019 held comparison test cameras of 7 flagship smartphones of 2019, as well as a professional SLR camera Canon 5D Mark II. According to the results of blind tests (when people do not know what device the photo was taken with and vote for their favorite photo), Honor 8 Pro won, it was ahead of the second place winner Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Next are the LG G6, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom, Canon 5D Mark II DSLR, HTC U11, and in last place was Xiaomi Mi 6. The editors of hi-tech.mail.ru put the Honor 8 Pro camera in second place (which it shared with HTC U11 and LG G6), giving the first to the Samsung flagship. Such an impressive result of Honor 8 Pro suggests that lovers of mobile photography can take this model without hesitation. And not only for them, because... as much as 6 GB of RAM and a new processor guarantee excellent performance, which will be useful for lovers of heavy mobile games.

2 Huawei P10 64Gb - Huawei smartphone with the best reviews

The average price in Russia is 34,000 rubles. You can buy Huawei P10 64Gb on AliExpress for 30.3 thousand rubles (delivery to Russia is free). P10 is the new flagship of Huawei, presented at the Mobile World Congress at the end of February 2019. As of today, the model has scored 80% of the five stars according to reviews in Yandex Market (see reviews of Huawei P10), this is the best indicator in the Huawei smartphone catalog.

Technical characteristics of the model: 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 7.0 operating system, 64 GB of permanent and 4 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards, the slot for the second SIM card is combined with a slot for a memory card. Battery 3200 mAh. Eight-core Kirin 960 processor of its own design with Mali-G71 MP8 graphics accelerator. The fingerprint scanner is built into a touch button slightly recessed into the body on the front panel. Huawei P10 is made from a single piece of aluminum.

Cameras on smartphones from the leading Chinese manufacturer Huawei are developing by leaps and bounds: in 2016, the company introduced the world's first smartphone with two main cameras (now this technique is used by Apple and other manufacturers); in 2017, Huawei began collaborating with the famous German camera company Leica ( a Leica camera worth 5 million rubles is used, for example, by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev), and in 2019 Huawei did everything to make the cameras on their smartphones the best in the world, namely, it involved Leica not only in working on a dual main module cameras, but also to work on front camera. But that's not all: starting with P10 Huawei company began collaborating with the iconic American video camera manufacturer GoPro. As part of the collaboration, GoPro will release an exclusive Quik mobile application for fast video processing for Huawei P10. The video editor will be built into the standard gallery of the EMUI shell. The essence of the Quik app is to combine photos and videos with background music to create a beautiful memorable video. It is worth noting that GoPro has not previously released applications for either Android or iOS.

What happened in the end? The Huawei P10 uses a combination of two sensors with an f/2.2 aperture: monochrome, which captures light information, and RGB color. The color resolution is 12 megapixels, and the monochrome resolution is 20 megapixels. This combination provides the following advantages: the Huawei P10 camera has a 2x zoom without loss of quality, and it also allows you to take pictures with a blurred background - the so-called bokeh effect. There is a special mode developed by Leica specialists in which you can make high-quality portrait photographs using a monochrome sensor. The result of the collaboration between Leica and Huawei on the front camera of the P10 is an 8 megapixel sensor, with which selfies are twice as bright and with a wider dynamic range, even in low light conditions.

The Huawei P10 camera received 87 points on the Dxomark resource, which is 3 points less than the leader HTC U11 and took 7th place. At the same time, in a blind test by hi-tech.mail.ru in April 2019, the Huawei P10 camera took first place, beating models that scored more points in Dxomark, for example, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel. The editors of hi-tech.mail.ru commented on the choice of readers as follows: “The majority appreciated the bright and contrasting pictures, not paying attention to the details” and put the Huawei P10 in 4th place after the Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 (however, there is a difference Huawei P10 and LG G6 accounted for only one point).

1 Honor 8 32Gb

The average price in Russia is 20,600 rubles. You can buy Honor 8 64Gb on AliExpress for 13.8 thousand rubles (delivery to Russia is free). The flagship of the Honor family went on sale in China at the end of July, and in Russia at the end of August 2017 and today has scored 78% of the five reviews in Yandex Market. In just over 2 months of the third quarter of 2017, Honor 8 entered the top eight most popular smartphones in China and took second place among the entire catalog of Huawei models (after Huawei P9).

Technical characteristics of the model: 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 6.0 operating system, 32 GB of permanent memory and as much as 4 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards, the slot for the second SIM card is combined with a slot for a memory card. The 3000 mAh battery and Smart Power 4.0 energy-saving technology provide up to 1.77 days of operation under normal use and up to 1.22 days under intensive use. For example, on Honor 8 you can watch online videos for 11 hours straight. 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. There is a fingerprint scanner.

The model has a dual main camera with laser autofocus, which received two 12-megapixel Sony IMX286 sensors (like the Huawei P9), color and monochrome. The camera allows you to change the focus point after shooting. Professional mode offers customization of the entire set of shooting parameters, just like in SLR cameras. The front camera has an 8 megapixel sensor.

Separately, it is worth noting the design of the smartphone. Without a doubt this is the most beautiful Huawei smartphone: glass with a mirror effect and 2.5D rounding is used on the front and back sides, the side edges are made of metal, and there are also several bright colors.

Honor 8 is slightly inferior to the new flagships Honor 8 Pro and Huawei P10 in terms of technical characteristics, but its cost is one and a half to two times lower (depending on whether you buy the model in Russia or China), so in terms of price-quality ratio, Honor 8 remains the best in the Huawei phone catalog. However, the upcoming start of sales of Honor 9 in July 2019 may change the situation.

This is my opinion about which smartphones from which company are best to buy today
As a result of long conversations with mobile phones, smartphones of different brands (and other digital equipment), I formed my own opinion about what to buy. I thought that it might be useful to you and now I am sharing it with you.
Naturally, I am still watching the smartphone market, so I will also give here best smartphones 2018, including those worth up to 15,000 rubles.

Just 11 years ago there were almost no smartphones. Mostly push-button mobile phones were sold. The so-called “PDAs” were also produced - pocket personal computers, and some of their manufacturers even then began to try to combine them in one case with a mobile phone.
And then I recommended without any doubt - take Nokia. Naturally, I used it myself mobile phones only this brand. Now Nokia seems to have finally been revived, but I have not yet had time to test their new products, and at the time of writing, they were produced mainly with an operating system that was not fully developed Windows Phone, and then I didn’t consider them at all as my new smartphone.

Today I am using an Asus Zenfone 6 smartphone.
And I think Asus smartphones the best in terms of price/quality ratio, since they are both inexpensive and at the same time quite high-quality communicators.

There's nothing wrong with the Zenfone 6 having a 6-inch screen, which may seem a little big to some people. Nothing like this! It easily fits into any pocket of my trousers (and in the summer - into shorts too). Moreover, I also have it in a case, which slightly increased its size.
This is a phone with a good battery - 3300 mAh, and it always lasts me for a day, no matter what I do with it. In normal use, its battery lasts for 2 days, if you lower the screen brightness and turn off GPS when it is not needed.
I chose it almost by accident; before that I almost bought myself a Sony.
I chose for several days, compared the characteristics, prices of smartphones different manufacturers, went to stores to hold them in my hands, saw how they look in reality, function, tried the cameras and everything else.
And suddenly I remembered that I had home computer, and in it is maternal Asus board And Intel processor! And it has been working safely and perfectly for 14 years without any problems!
After that, I started looking at what Asus smartphones are on the market today and what they have inside. And as soon as I saw that there were devices with Intel processors, my attention completely switched to them.
Plus, I have long wanted a smartphone with a large screen in order to combine the advantages of both a tablet (it’s convenient to read texts and browse the Internet) and a smartphone. But first I looked at devices with screens up to 5.5 inches diagonal.
And when I held Zenfone 6 in my hands and tried to put it in my jeans pocket, I realized that 6 inches is also normal
It turned out that it supported two SIM cards, and this condition was also on the list of requirements for my future phone.
Its 13 million dot rear camera finally convinced me to buy it.
In the end, I took it and still don’t regret it at all!
Now, in August 2018, I can say one thing: 3.5 years have passed since I purchased it, and I have not had any complaints about my phone, it still works without any problems.
Now Zenfon 6 is no longer produced or sold - the manufacturing company has developed and is producing many new interesting and advanced models, which is even better for you!

One of them is a new model that I like in terms of characteristics and prices (one of the best smartphones of 2018):

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro ZB602KL

also with IPS screen 6 inches, 2160 x 1080 (18:9), 402 PPI,
good cameras: 2 rear – 13 MP + 5 MP, front – 8 MP;
32 GB internal memory + 3 GB RAM or 64 GB internal memory + 4 GB RAM,
the latest excellent 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 636 processor,
and a 5000 mAh battery.

I think that buying Asus ZenFone Max Pro ZB602KL will be a good decision.

As you can see from its price, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro ZB602KL also falls into the category: the best smartphones under 15,000 rubles of 2018.

Another good device from Asus with an excellent front camera - 24 Million pixels

ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro ZD552KL 64Gb 4Gb

AMOLED screen 5.5″, 1920 x 1080 (16:9), 401 ppi,
cameras: rear – 16MP. and two front ones – 24 MP with increased light sensitivity + additional 5MP;
64GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM,
good processor 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 625.

Smartphones Sony I respect you very much.
This brand has been known to me (and most likely to you) for a very long time and it enjoys well-deserved authority throughout the planet. Any of their devices are reliable and always of very good quality. Fortunately, they don’t skimp on components (but unfortunately they don’t produce them themselves, which is one of the reasons high prices their devices). When I was walking and choosing a new communicator for myself, I held and tested several Sony smartphones, and I wrote earlier that I wanted to get a Sony Xperia Z3 (since the Z5 had just appeared and was too expensive). The single-SIM Xperia C3 also attracted attention (there were no dual-SIM ones at that time) - it was much cheaper, and its capabilities would have been quite enough to solve my problems. The only thing that confused me was that it could only install 1 SIM card. And Sony cameras are also always decent, with honest megapixels, unlike many Chinese devices.
If you have a good budget, buy it Sony smartphone– and most likely you will not regret it.
Below are 2 good Sony devices and links to reliable and good shops, where you can get them very inexpensively compared to other sellers of these particular models:

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Dual SIM
with a good 6-inch IPS screen (pictured),
excellent cameras 23 and 16MP,
built-in memory – 32 or 64 GB, and RAM – 4GB,
fast MediaTek Helio P20 processor (4 cores – 2.45 GHz + 4 cores – 1.9 GHz)
and support for 2 SIM cards.

and similar in appearance to the previous XA1 Ultra

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus,
which has a smaller display - 5.5 inches,
main camera 23 M.Pix. and front – 8 M.Pix.,
32GB built-in memory, 4GB RAM,
same P20 processor – up to 2.45 GHz and
latest operating system Android 8.0:

Meizu smartphones have already gained great popularity in our country due to their cheapness, cute appearance, as well as quite decent hardware inside and good build.
Their quality has long reached the level of Lenovo, and in general it is even better, and they always produce good sound.

Moreover, any Meizu smartphone with equal characteristics, it costs 1.5-2 times cheaper than similar devices from famous brands.

And a couple of the cutest devices from this manufacturer today, in terms of all parameters and prices:

Meizu Pro 7

with an excellent 5.2″ AMOLED screen, an additional screen on the back and cool technical characteristics:

good cameras: dual rear (2×12MP) and 16MP front camera,
built-in memory – 64 GB, RAM – 4GB,
and a 2.5 GHz reactive processor MediaTek Helio P25.

Meizu 15 Plus
can rightfully be included in the top best smartphones of 2018, as it has a super-fashionable premium design and excellent data:

gorgeous 5.95″ AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 494 and a resolution of 2560×1440 (16:9),
no less luxurious cameras: rear 20MP and 12MP, front 20MP,
built-in memory – 64 GB, RAM – 6 GB,
and a super-processor 2.3 GHz Samsung Exynos 8895.

There is also a good and inexpensive Meizu M6 Note, a review with photos and prices of which you can see by following the link with its name.

Also, Xiaomi communicators have become very popular here - and deservedly so.
They delight their followers with the excellent characteristics of their devices, including good capacious batteries, decent quality and at the same time very affordable prices for their products, and therefore many of them are included in the top 3 ratings of the best smartphones under 15,000 rubles of 2018.
Again, I’ll give here a couple of good and inexpensive models of devices from this company:

Xiaomi Mi A1

good IPS screen 5.5″ (401 PPi),
video cameras: dual rear 12+12MP, front 5MP,
built-in memory – 32/64GB, RAM – 4GB,
good processor 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625.

And the prices for it, as you can see, are up to 15,000 rubles.

Xiaomi Mi 6X

with also a decent IPS screen 5.99″, 402 ppi, 2160×1080 (18:9),
excellent cameras: dual rear 20 + 12MP, front 20MP,
built-in memory – 64GB, RAM – 4GB,
good 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.

The well-known Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X (or rather Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global Version) is also on sale with all its might; you can see photos and a review about it by clicking on the link above.
And also be sure to take a look at the cool Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with 6 GB of RAM!

I also consider LG smartphones to be quite high-quality and reliable.
This company itself produces components (IPS displays, microcircuits and much more) for all devices produced in their factories: smartphones, washing machines, TVs, refrigerators and various other equipment.
Therefore, prices for any equipment, including LG smartphones, will always be slightly lower than prices for smartphones from other manufacturers with similar characteristics.
By the way, LG supplies components for assembling communicators to many other well-known companies: Samsung, Apple and some others - from which we can draw conclusions about their pricing.
As usual, I would like to draw your attention to a couple of attractive models from this brand in all respects:

LG G6

It has an excellent IPS display 5.7″, 565 pixels/inch, 2880×1440 (18:9),
2 main photo and video cameras: 13MP + 13MP, and front – 5 MP,
built-in storage – 32GB, RAM – 4GB,
Fast 2.35 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.

LG M320 X Power 2

This smartphone is equipped with:
Display with IPS matrix 5.5” diagonal, resolution 1280 x 720 pixels, 267 ppi;
Cameras: 13 million pixels. with laser autofocus, flash, front - 5 M pixel.
Memory – 16 GB with the possibility of increasing its volume, RAM – 2 GB;
MediaTek MT6750 1500 MHz quad-core processor with Mali-T860 MP2 video processor;
Battery – 4500 mAh with fast charging Qualcomm Quick Charge.

And here the price is up to 15,000 rubles.

Smartphones Apple Iphone today they are very expensive, and their quality remains not too high and does not at all correspond to their price. They break down quite often, and any repair of this equipment is also too expensive.
I think that buying them makes almost no sense, because there are many smartphones on the market with similar characteristics, the price of which is 2-3 times less.
Therefore, I personally do NOT recommend buying Apple phones.

I can say almost the same about Samsung communicators. Buying smartphones from this company, in my opinion, is also not the best and smartest decision.

As a result, today I will answer your question: which company’s smartphones are best to buy?

  1. ASUS
  2. Then you can think about communicators SONY(due to their relatively expensive price)
  3. In third place are company phones MEIZU
  4. On the fourth - XIAOMI
  5. And on the fifth - LG

When choosing your new smartphone, of course, start from your existing needs, choose devices with the characteristics that you need most, and you can even refuse its unnecessary functions and bells and whistles, which can cost you quite a lot.

As for purchasing a smartphone in general, I strongly recommend buying it from a well-known and reliable online store; you can find links to them on our website,
or in some large store in your city that sells similar equipment - only this will always cost you much more.
Thus, you are likely to receive a smartphone officially supplied and certified for Russia, meeting all quality standards, with normal firmware and a Russian-language operating system.
But still check with the sellers before purchasing all these points.
And so you will have a guarantee for its trouble-free operation for 1 or 2 years (which depends on the manufacturer), as well as the possibility of returning or exchanging it (although by law stores are not obligated to do this at all, and you need to check with each specific store, do they accept returns of phones purchased from them) in case of purchase not quality smartphone(which does occasionally happen with the brands mentioned above).

In general, I wish you success and good luck in choosing and purchasing your new smartphone!

Samsung’s AMOLED matrix is also calibrated for the DCI-P3 cinema color palette (more shades than standard sRGB and is very useful for HDR video, which will replace conventional formats and “take off” in the near future). Huawei, theoretically, is also friendly with a similar implementation of HDR10 (because the Mate 10 Pro also received a display that supports such color rendering), but only theoretically: Huawei did not make any official mention of the “future reserve for watching movies” in the P20 Pro.

The display at Sony is a completely different school. While all competitors put OLED/AMOLED matrices in their flagship mobile phones, the Japanese are still faithful to IPS, a type of display that until recently was in all smartphones except Samsung.

Is it good or bad? Neither one nor the other - each type of matrix has its own advantages. For example, Sony will be nicer to those who notice the flickering of AMOLED displays (in them, each pixel glows separately, while IPS has a common backlight for the entire screen). And in terms of picture detail, Sony is ahead of Huawei: in AMOLED/OLED the pixels are not full-fledged, but “diluted” (PenTile technology), so even with the same diagonal Xperia screen would still display the picture a little sharper than the P20 Pro. In defense of OLED panels, we can say that they consume less battery power and are easier to read information from under the sun in the summer. There is no perfection in the world...

But it’s even more unfortunate that there is no perfection in Japanese flagship mobile phones: no matter what display modes you choose in the Xperia XZ2, the shades will still be skewed towards blue. It feels like you're looking at the picture on the screen through slightly tinted sunglasses. You can live with this, but when you take off your glasses (you look at the screen of a Samsung, Huawei, or a good monitor or TV), you realize that something is wrong with the picture on the screen of your smartphone. I hope the Japanese also understand this falsehood and will correct the color rendering of the screen in new firmware.

By the way, the IPS matrix in the Xperia XZ2 is also configured for HDR10 formats (there is no other way, because HDR video is shot by the smartphone camera, and this video must be displayed correctly), and films in such formats look beyond praise on it.

Briefly speaking: Samsung screen ideal in color rendition, but reduced in brightness level, in Huawei the color rendition is also cool, but the picture clarity is lower, and in the Sony display “blue spills” where it is needed and where it is not needed

Sound (headphones)

Sound quality in headphones is one of the disciplines for which the Sony Xperia XZ2 wants to forgive all its shortcomings. The coolest-sounding mobile phone in our trio of flagships! There is plenty of clarity, but even the “plates” do not hurt the ears, the volume is unobtrusive, without echo, “aquarium” effects and other vulgarity. And from the voice, instruments and special effects, nothing “hits the ears” or gets on your nerves, even if you listen to the music for long hours in a row. The volume is enough even for high-impedance (read: huge) “downed pilot” monitor headphones, while the sound quality is equally high, no matter which way you turn the slider. Everything is so sweet, expensive and pleasant that there is no desire to change such a sound in any way.

But if you still want to “spice up” the sound with cinematic volume (Surround settings), make the bass “pump up” the headphones (Clear Bass) or improve the audio recording (DSEE HX), which has been disfigured by time and the fight with copyright holders on VKontakte, then you can.

But in Samsung all this is not possible, but need to do, because the sound in the Korean flagship “from the factory” will unpleasantly surprise you - a smartphone for a thousand bucks plays almost the same as the Galaxy J5 (2017), which is four times cheaper.

The volume reserve, of course, is enormous (you will go deaf before you turn the volume up to the maximum level), but the clarity of the sound is somehow not flagship, and the sound itself is so flat, as if your headphones were made of plastic buckets that are scattered in children's sandboxes. Or as if you had a slight cold and your hearing was dull.

I think many people are interested in knowing whose camera is better - the Huawei flagship or Sony flagship. We are, of course, talking about Huawei Mate 9, which has the top camera among the Chinese company’s smartphones, the same as the new P10 Plus, as well as the Sony Xperia XZ.

It is clear that the Xperia XZ Premium will be released in June, which has absolutely new camera with a new level of shooting quality, but until then the original Xperia XZ is still Sony's top phone.

Let's look at the external two rivals:

Technical characteristics of the main cameras of Huawei Mate 9 and Sony Xperia XZ:

  • Xperia XZ. Exmor RS, 23 MP, F2.0 aperture, 24 mm focal length, 5-axis SteadyShot stabilization, laser autofocus, infrared sensor, RGBC-IR sensor.
  • Mate 9. Dual, 12 MP (color) + 20 MP (monochrome), F2.2 aperture, 27 mm focal length, laser autofocus + phase detection autofocus + Depth Autofocus, optical stabilization, dual dual-tone flash, 2x lossless zoom "

The cameras of the Xperia XZ and Mate 9 are noticeably different. Although they are united by the “sophistication” of the proprietary technologies used.

However, the Huawei Mate 9 is more exciting, at least on paper. Let's see how it really turns out.

Camera comparison: Huawei Mate 9 vs Sony Xperia XZ

Before viewing a comparison of cameras, familiarize yourself with the conditions and parameters for taking photos:

  • Both smartphones were shot in Auto mode, without further processing.
  • The original photo resolution of the Xperia XZ is 23 megapixels with an aspect ratio of 4:3, and the Huawei Mate 9 has 12 megapixels 4:3
  • The shooting was carried out handheld in the same position without leaving the spot. Due to the different focal lengths of the camera lenses (the XZ has 24 mm, and the Mate 9 has 27 mm), it seems that the Mate 9 was shot at a closer distance
  • The focus point in each frame is strictly in the center

Subsequently, all images were cropped 1:1 for easier viewing.

Xperia XZ vs Huawei Mate 9. Photography, day series

All shots were taken in cloudy weather, which is the most difficult scenario for cameras mobile devices with their small matrices.

Shooting close-ups, frame sharpness And white balance selection The Huawei Mate 9 camera is clearly on the side. Here the flagship of the Chinese company wins, and significantly. I will also note the wider dynamic range of the Mate 9.

The advantages of Xperia XZ can be safely written down better detail(this is good in the original pictures) due to more high resolution, and realistic color rendering.

Both smartphones did a good job, but I liked the photos from the Huawei Mate 9 more.

Xperia XZ vs Huawei Mate 9. Photography, night series

In night photography, Huawei Mate 9 won on all fronts. Optical stabilization, high-quality optics and excellent software left the Xperia XZ no chance.

Comparison of zoom quality in photography

Two separate shots to test and compare zooms. The Huawei Mate 9 has a 2x “lossless” zoom, which, according to the manufacturer, is no different from the real optical one, while the Sony Xperia XZ has a 5x Clear Zoom, which is set to 2x. Let's see what happened.

Without zoom:

With zoom:

Huawei didn't lie. The 2x zoom in the Mate 9 is a really useful tool for shooting, the loss in quality is minimal.

Xperia XZ vs Huawei Mate 9. video shooting

***

Huawei Mate 9 and Sony Xperia XZ provide a decent level of quality in photos and videos. It is enough for most users, as they say, “to the point.”

But it would be disingenuous not to note the more advanced features of the Mate 9, because it’s not just about best quality shooting.

The Huawei Mate 9 camera is essentially a creative tool for mobile photographers, only it has a true black and white mode thanks to a monochrome 20 MP sensor. Believe me, B&W photos on the Mate 9 turn out much cooler than when using a filter on Instagram. The difference is huge.

In addition, full manual mode Mate 9 helps you implement almost any idea that is not available, for example, for the Xperia XZ. First of all, this is long exposure photography.

We are waiting for the Xperia XZ Premium and hope that this time Sony will show a new level of quality in mobile photography. 😉

Which phone is better? Everything is inside. Sony Experia M or Huawei Ascend P1 and got the best answer

These statements like “Huawei is not reliable because it’s Chinese” just kill me! Isn't NTS Chinese? ? Are Acer, Meizu, USUS not Chinese? ? Acer smartphones are completely unkillable! Do you think why even smartphones from ACER that are not very powerful in terms of characteristics are so expensive? Yes, because the core is on top level. NTS is being bought in our country like hot cakes and for some reason no one is screaming his face with the thoughts “this is Chinese”... I used Huawei Mate 6.1" - an excellent device. The assembly is super! The interface is cool, the screen is awesome, everything works smoothly and at the same time, without brakes. Of course, the Mate is no match for the Askend P1, after all, it is much less productive and the screen of the P1 is crap.
Regarding those smartphones that are indicated in this question⇝ I would not take the Xperia M for myself for 3 reasons: 1) very low screen resolution, 2) very small amount of built-in memory (a little more than 1.5 GB will be available to you - this is very little for full use of the smartphone), 3) a fairly mediocre camera.
Huaweia Ascend P1 in everything better than Sony except memory. Askend P1 also has only 4GB of which only 1.5 will be available to you. This is not enough!
I advise you to buy a cool new product for the same money ASUS Zenfone 5 16gb. In terms of money, it costs from 7,000 to 8,500 rubles. , i.e. it’s about 7500 on average. (Askend P1 costs about the same) But if you take Asus you get better smartphone for the same money! ! More powerful processor, a better and larger screen, which will be more convenient on the Internet, when reading, when watching videos and photos, well, and the fact that instead of 1.5 GB you will have 11 GB definitely weighs in favor of Asus. For a device for that kind of money, it’s just super-duper! 5-inch screen with HD resolution, 2Gb of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 2-core processor with a frequency of 1.6 GHz. , 8MP camera. , two SIM cards and a 2100mAh battery. Despite all this, he is thin and beautiful. For these 7–7.5 thousand rubles, super!

There is also a cool smartphone from the same brand (it’s a little cheaper, but in terms of characteristics it’s definitely better than the same Xperia M) - this is the Asus Padfone Mini 4.3. A smartphone without a dock can be bought for 5500–6500.

I prefer Huawei.

Answer from Mind, but artificial![guru]
Both not very good.
The Sony Xperia M has a simply disgusting camera (it shoots worse than those without autofocus, it’s blurry) - you can look at examples of photos: (such links are on Yandex Market in the device characteristics, and if not, look for the model name on Yandex Photos, there searches both by EXIF and photo description)
And Huawei is generally good (in particular, the camera is beyond praise), but not very reliable, since it is “Chinese”. Moreover, he... huwei... does the name sound? I won’t take it just because of this, like ALCATel IDOL and... Here (the new name for devices from Nokia).
Take Nokia, whichever one you like best.
