The goods arrived in the destination country of the Russian Federation. Parcel status

Russians have recently increasingly ordered goods from other countries, especially on popular sites such as Aliexpress, Buyincoins and Ebay. It also happens that someone has relatives or friends abroad, and they send gifts or simply parcels to you in Russia. Delivery of goods within the territory of our country is carried out by Russian Post or other postal companies, and within the territory of the sender, the goods are transported by local carriers. When approaching the recipient, the status of the shipment changes, which is displayed in the online parcel tracking service. In the article we will tell you what the status “export from the country of departure” and all the others mean, as well as what to do if the parcel is missing or “stuck” somewhere.

Through what services can you track postal items?

The most widespread and popular service was created by Russian Post, it is called “Russian Post. Tracking postal items.” There you need to enter the parcels and confirm that you are not a robot. The system will show where in this moment the parcel is located. But, unfortunately, recently, on the same Aliexpress, parcel numbers have begun to be issued in such a way that it is impossible to track them through the Russian Post website. You can use others instead.

So, there are websites for tracking goods specifically from China, since parcels from there are now very a large number of. It’s called Track24 and is located on the website of the same name; there are also 17track and ALITRACK. The last 3 do not request verification of the robot, but immediately search for the location of the parcel using the entered postal item number. The 17track service also shows the approximate date of arrival at the recipient's post office.

If an item has disappeared from the tracking service or is stuck somewhere at one point for a long time, then it is possible that they forgot to add it to the program and you will no longer be able to track its movements until you receive a notification from the post office that the package has been delivered. In this case, you can write to the seller, attaching a screenshot from the Russian Post service. Tracking mail items or any other service that shows the problem. After the delivery period has expired, the seller, with your consent, or you yourself can extend the delivery period or return the money for an obvious reason. Money is usually returned quickly (within 3-5 days) to the card or account from which the payment was made, although not the first time. Sometimes the seller has to write several times to get the money back, or even contact the support service, because the seller does not make contact. It also happens that the money is returned or the product is ordered again, but the one that was lost arrives.

Preparing for shipment

This means that a package consisting of one or more items is being assembled or already completed and prepared for shipment. The preparation process also includes paperwork and labeling of parcels. Also at this stage, the seller checks whether payment for the purchase has been made and passed.

"Export from country of origin"

This is the second status that the package acquires during transportation, unless otherwise provided by the seller or transport company. “Export from the country of origin” literally means export from that country. This means that the parcel has a long delivery journey ahead.

The time given to deliver the goods to the buyer usually begins to count precisely from the “export from the country of departure” status. How long to wait for a parcel is often written when placing an order: some goods arrive within 30 days, and some within 90. Therefore, you should carefully read the delivery conditions when placing and subsequent payment for the order. If the parcel is sent by your friend from another country, then the wait is much less; these usually arrive in 10-20 days.

Arrival at destination country

When export from the country of departure is completed, i.e. the goods have left the seller’s country and crossed the border, the status of the parcel changes. There can be 2 options: either the goods immediately end up in the capital’s sorting center, or they will be located in a border, but already Russian city, next to the border that they crossed. One way or another, it will have the status “arrived in the territory of the Russian Federation” or “imported to the country of destination” in tracking services.

Arrival at the sorting center

Sorting centers are huge premises in a large city into which parcels and letters are received for further distribution and sending to smaller points or regional post offices. When a product is exported from the country of departure, it has already been determined where it will go next, to which city, sorting center and post office.

At the sorting center, parcels are processed automatically, since it is almost impossible to process a huge number of boxes and packages manually, so it is important that the index is written correctly (the address is not read here), otherwise the parcel will go to another place.

Arrival at the pick-up point

When the purchased product has gone through all stages of transportation, it arrives at the post office closest to the buyer. Within a few days, postal employees issue a notice of receipt and bring it to the recipient at Mailbox. If the addressee does not arrive within a week, a second notice is issued. A parcel that has been lying unclaimed for a month is sent back.

If a person tracked the parcel through online services and saw that it was there, he may not wait for a notification, but come to the post office with the shipment number and, having named it and presenting his passport, receive a box with the purchased goods.

If he missed all the notifications and did not monitor the status for a long time, then when trying to understand where the parcel is, he may see the status “export from the country of departure” again, but now this country will be Russia, which means the purchase has been sent back. Only a dialogue with the seller will help here; he can stop the return shipment or send the goods again. But not all sellers agree to this, so if you are waiting for a parcel from abroad, do not rely on notifications from the post office, but check the location of the goods yourself.

Flew to destination country

The postal item will be handed over to the post office of the destination country for delivery to one of the places of international postal exchange, and subsequent import/export operations.

Departed from the airport

The following status will not be displayed immediately upon arrival at the airport of the destination country, but after the mail item arrives and is accepted (unloaded, processed and scanned) by the postal service.
This may take from 3 to 10 days.

The postal item has departed from the airport of the sender's country and is heading to the destination country.

After the parcel leaves the territory of the sender's country and arrives at the destination country, such shipments are re-marked with untraceable track codes and are no longer tracked.

When the parcel arrives at your post office, you will receive a paper notification with which you need to come to the post office and receive the parcel.

Issued by customs

The customs clearance procedure has been completed, and in the near future the postal item will be handed over to the post office of the destination country for further delivery to the recipient.

Ready for shipment

Detained by customs

Upon receipt in international postal items during a calendar month of goods whose customs value exceeds 1000 euros, and (or) the total weight of which exceeds 31 kilograms, in part of such excess it is necessary to pay customs duties and taxes using a flat rate of 30% of the customs value of goods, but not less than 4 euros per 1 kilogram of their weight. If information about the goods sent to the MPO is missing or does not correspond to the actual information, this significantly increases the time spent on processing shipments, since there is a need to conduct a customs inspection and document its results.

Submission

The parcel was sent to the wrong zip code or address, an error was discovered and the parcel was redirected to the correct address.

Import international mail

The operation of receiving the item in the recipient's country.

All mail entering the territory Russian Federation from flights, begins the journey at the aviation post office (AOPP) - a special postal warehouse at the airport. Within 4–6 hours, shipments from the aircraft arrive at the AOPP, the containers are registered, and their integrity and weight are checked. Mail is registered in an electronic database. During registration, the barcode is scanned, data is entered about where the container is addressed (for example, MMPO Moscow), from which flight it arrived, about the country and date of formation of the container, etc. The time of these operations can be increased from 1 to 7x days due to the limited capacity of the AOPP.

The next operation after export from the country of origin, which is reflected on the website when tracking the shipment, is import into the destination country. Import information appears after the shipment is transferred by the carrier to the postal operator of the destination country. Operation “Import” means that the shipment arrived on the territory of Russia and was registered. International shipments arrive in Russia through the international postal exchange place (IMPO). There are several MMPOs in Russia: in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Samara, Petrozavodsk, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Bryansk. The choice of city where exactly the international shipment will arrive depends on the sender’s country. The choice depends on the availability of regular flights and free carrying capacity in a particular direction.

At MMPO, shipments undergo a full cycle of processing, customs control and clearance functions. Postal containers arrive under the customs transit procedure. They are then sorted by type and transferred to various areas. Shipments with product contents undergo X-ray inspection. By decision of the customs officer, the postal item may be opened for personal control; the reason for personal control may be violations of property rights, a commercial consignment, targeting a consignment that may contain substances prohibited for shipment. The postal item is opened by the operator in the presence of a customs officer, after which a customs inspection report is drawn up and attached to the item.

However, if your parcel was sent more than 3 months ago, but has not received the “Import” status, then the sender needs to contact the post office and apply for a search.

Export, processing

Indicates the actual dispatch of the postal item to the destination country.

The “Export” status includes the transfer of the parcel to a foreign carrier, which, by land or air transportation, transports it to the MMPO of the destination country. As a rule, this status is the longest and the transition to “Import” may take some time. This happens due to the characteristics of flight routes and the formation of the optimal weight for transporting it by plane. For example, shipments from China may be delayed due to the fact that cargo planes can carry at least 50 - 100 tons.

I don't see much point in knowing detailed description one or another postal status. The meaning of most of them is clear from the name, the meaning of others is not so important (again, for me).

However, many users want to understand what the parcel statuses they see when tracking mean. So I will give a description of the most frequent and popular statuses that you can find on various trackers.

Delivery to the addressee / Delivery to the recipient

The parcel has been received by the addressee (at the post office or delivered by courier)

Flew to destination country

The parcel will be delivered to the post office of the destination country. Next, it will be delivered to one of the places of international postal exchange for subsequent import/export operations.

Submission

The parcel was sent to the wrong zip code or address, an error was discovered and it was redirected to the correct address.

Import international mail

The operation of receiving the item in the recipient's country.

All mail arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation from air flights begins its journey at the aviation postal department (AOPP) - a special postal warehouse at the airport. Within 4–6 hours, shipments from the aircraft arrive at the AOPP, the containers are registered, and their integrity and weight are checked. Mail is registered in an electronic database.

The status means that the shipment has been transferred to the Federal Customs Service (FCS) for clearance. At MMPO, shipments undergo a full cycle of processing, customs control and clearance functions. Postal containers arrive under the customs transit procedure. They are then sorted by type and transferred to various areas. Shipments with product contents undergo X-ray inspection. By decision of the customs officer, the parcel may be opened for personal control; the reason for personal control may be violations of property rights, a commercial consignment, targeting a consignment that may contain substances prohibited for shipment. The parcel is opened by the operator in the presence of a customs officer, after which a customs inspection report is drawn up and attached to the shipment.

Reception from sender

This means that the overseas sender (seller) has brought your parcel to the local post office. At the same time, he filled out all the necessary documents, including the customs declaration (forms CN 22 or CN 23). At this time, the shipment is assigned a unique postal identifier - a special bar code (Track number, Track code). It is located on the check (or receipt) issued upon acceptance of the parcel. The “Reception” operation shows the place, date and country of receipt of the item. After acceptance, the parcel moves on its way to the place of international exchange.

Accepted by carrier

Indicates that the sender (seller) has transferred your order to a local carrier. At this time, the shipment is assigned a unique postal identifier - a special bar code (Track number, Track code). It is located on the check (or receipt) issued upon acceptance of the shipment.

Customs clearance completed

This operation means that customs has checked the item and returned it to the Postal Service. In many MMPOs, customs works around the clock: this is the only way to check the colossal volume of mail incoming from abroad in a timely manner. Each customs officer is assisted by two postal operators.

Export (packaging)

The parcel has successfully passed inspection, is packed and ready to be sent to the destination country.

Export international mail

Indicates the actual dispatch of the parcel to the destination country.

On average, an export operation takes from 7 to 14 days, but sometimes this operation can take up to 60 days.

If the shipment is in the “Export” status, then it is impossible to track it (find out what exactly is happening to it); only at the import stage will you be able to see your package and monitor its further movement. The use of transit transportation and certain restrictions often delay shipments. However, if your parcel was sent more than 3 months ago, but has not received the “Import” status, then the sender needs to contact the post office and apply for a search.

What do postage statuses mean in English?

Both on Aliexpress and on popular trackers, all postal statuses are translated into Russian. So you won’t come across statuses in English often. And yet, I decided to add here a translation and transcript of the most popular of them.

Firstly, you can run into them when tracking the track number directly on the website of one of the foreign delivery services, where there is simply no Russian language.

Secondly, machine translation of some statuses does not add clarity to the word at all.

So I think the information presented below will be useful to someone. I also note that different delivery services use different names for essentially the same actions. Therefore, some statuses will be translated the same way so as not to create confusion.

Order information received by carrier

The parcel information has been received by the carrier.

The same as - Information about the postal item has been received, information about the order/parcel has been received. This status means that your parcel has been registered by the carrier and has been assigned a tracking number. However, the parcel itself has not yet been sent.

hand over to carrier of destination country

Handed over to the carrier of the destination country.

Indicates that the package has arrived in the destination country and has been handed over to the local carrier, courier or postal service.

arrive at destination country

Arrived at destination country.

This status means that the parcel has arrived in the customer’s country. Next, it awaits customs clearance and transfer to a local carrier. It is worth noting that many small orders are no longer tracked at this stage.

despatch from sorting center

Dispatched from the sorting center.

Same as Left the sorting center. During the delivery process, you may encounter this statute several times, since parcels are sorted both in the country of departure and in the country of destination.

arrival at delivery office

Arrived at the office/delivery point.

Indicates that your order has arrived at your local post office or courier service office. You will receive a notification shortly or a courier will contact you.

arrival at sorting center

Arrival at the sorting center.

Sometimes trackers associate this status with the “Arrived at the waypoint” status. The process of sorting parcels usually takes 1-2 days, after which they continue on their way to their destination.

arrived at the destination postal office

Arrived at the destination post office.

Same as arrival at delivery office. This means that your parcel has been delivered to the nearest post office and you will be able to pick it up soon.

export of international mail

Export from the country of origin.

Some trackers translate this status literally - “International mail export.” It means that your package has left the country of origin and is heading to you.

released from customs

Left customs / Released by customs.

Your order has successfully passed all the necessary checks and customs clearance procedures and moved on.

left the place of international exchange

Left the international exchange site.

Also associated with the “Left waypoint” status. During the delivery process, this status may occur several times.

airline departure from original country

Left the country of departure (Air delivery).

Means that your order has left the country of origin by airmail.

already received the electronic information export

Parcel information received - export.

Means that the carrier has completed registration and processing of the postal item and the process of export to the destination country has begun.

international shipment release export

International shipment of goods - export.

The postal item was successfully exported from the country.

the parcel arrived at the transit center

The parcel has arrived at the transit center.

Also associated with the status “Arrived at the intermediate point”.

depart from transit country or district

Left the transit country.

This means that the parcel was not delivered directly to the destination country, but through one of the “transit countries” (usually European countries). There she also went through all the necessary customs procedures and was sent to the destination country.

airline arrive at destination country

Arrived in the country of destination - air delivery.

This means that the parcel has arrived in your country.

attempted delivery

Delivery attempt.

If you see this status, then in fact the courier should have already contacted you and agreed on a delivery time. If no one has contacted you, the status will soon change to “Unsuccessful delivery attempt.” In this case, you should contact the courier service office and explain the situation.

Most likely, they simply couldn’t get through to you.

import of international mail

Import to destination country.

Indicates that your order has crossed the border of the destination country.

In order not to make a mistake in the approximate delivery time of the parcel, you should know what this or that status means. On this page we will consider in detail all possible statuses so that you do not have difficulty determining the location of the parcel.

Postal statuses when tracking shipments from abroad

Reception.

This status means that the sender has completed all the necessary forms, including Form CN22 or CN23 (customs declaration), and the package has been accepted by the postal or courier service employee. Simultaneously with receipt, the shipment is assigned an identification number, which is subsequently used for tracking.

Arrival at MMPO.

MMPO is a place of international postal exchange. At this stage, the parcel undergoes customs control and registration. After this, service employees prepare a grouped international shipment.

Export.

One of the longest periods in the delivery of postal items. This is due to the fact that sending a partially loaded plane is unprofitable, so you have to wait until there is a sufficient number of parcels heading to one country.

In addition, to optimize logistics processes, shipments can be delivered in transit through other countries, and this also delays delivery time.

It is impossible to name the exact duration of the parcel's stay in export. But on average it ranges from two weeks to one and a half months. Moreover, on the eve of the holidays, this period may further increase. But if more than two months have passed since receiving the “Export” status, and there are no changes, you should contact the postal service performing the delivery with a request to search for the shipment.

Import.

This status is assigned to the shipment at the Russian AOPP (aviation mail department), where it arrives from an airplane. Here, according to the service regulations, the parcels are weighed, the integrity of the packaging is checked, the barcode is scanned to find out the place of departure, the flight number is recorded, and it is determined to which MMPO the parcel should be sent. The length of time an international shipment stays at AOPC depends on the workload of the department and its employees, but on average it is 1-2 days.

Handed over to customs.

After sorting, the parcels are sent for customs inspection, where they go through an X-ray scanner. If customs officers suspect the illegal transportation of prohibited substances or items, the shipment is opened and inspected in the presence of an inspector and the responsible operator. After this (if the fact of transportation of prohibited goods has not been confirmed), the parcel is packed again, an inspection report is attached and sent along the route.

Detained by customs.

This status is optional. It is assigned to a shipment only in cases where customs officers identify a weight that exceeds the permissible limit, a cost of more than 1,000 euros, and other violations. In this case, the recipient will have to pay additional fees. If there are no violations of customs legislation, the parcel will bypass this status.

Customs clearance has been completed.

After receiving this status, the parcel is again transferred to the place of international postal exchange, where it is processed by the department staff. In some cases, this status may be replaced by “left MMPO”.

Arrived at the sorting center.

From MMPO the shipment arrives for sorting. There are postal sorting centers in all major cities. As a rule, the parcel is sent to the center closest to the MMPO, where logistics service employees develop the optimal delivery route to the point of issue.

Left the sorting center.

This status means that the parcel has been sent along the delivery route. The time it takes for it to arrive at the recipient depends on several factors, including traffic congestion, remoteness of the region, etc.

There are Russian Post sorting centers in all major cities.

Arrived at the sorting center of the city N.

Upon arrival in the recipient's city, the parcel is delivered to the local sorting center. From here, the goods are distributed to post offices or other order delivery points. Delivery speed is affected by: traffic congestion, weather conditions, distance. For example, delivery within the city takes no more than 1-2 days, but within the region it can take about a week.

Came to the place of delivery.

After the shipment arrives at the nearest post office, it is assigned this status. Next, postal employees are required to issue a notice and deliver it to the addressee within 1-2 days. In fact, this period may be slightly delayed, so it is better to use the “My Parcel” tracking service. As soon as you see the status “arrived at the place of delivery”, you can go to the post office. It is not necessary to wait for notification, since postal employees are required to issue the item using the identification code (tracking number). Upon receipt, you must have your passport with you.

Delivery to the addressee.

This status is assigned to the parcel after it is received by the addressee and means the end of the journey.

Domestic Russian shipments are assigned the same statuses, with the exception of those related to the customs stage and MMPO. Therefore, the information will also be useful to those who make purchases in Russian online stores or are expecting a package from loved ones living in another city or region.

Now you know the interpretation of each status and can not only determine the actual location of the parcel, but also approximately calculate the delivery time.
