What to do if you forgot the password from your Sony phone. Hard Reset on Sony devices, remove pattern, restore factory settings

So you have purchased Xperia smartphone Z3 Compact, an excellent device of the flagship series on the already proven Android platform. But it passes certain time, and it ceases to please you the way it did before: periodic bugs, glitches, freezes begin to appear. The phone starts to slow down both in applications and in the menu, and the built-in keyboard starts to work with an obvious delay, not to mention a number of other minor problems.

The truth is that no one is immune from this. Features of the operating room Android systems are such that the problems described above can begin on a significant part of the devices after a few months, depending on the intensity of operation, general clutter and other factors. Of course, with each new version Google is working on their OS, but what to do if your smartphone needs to be brought back to normal operational state Here and now?

The answer to this question is hard reset(English hard reset) Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, but what it is and how to use it, we will understand further.

Its essence is as follows: we reset the entire software part of the device to the factory settings "out of the box", returning to the very time when its work did not cause any complaints. It is clear that this implies complete removal all user information, applications and files on internal memory smartphone (per card Micro memory Don't worry about the SD - it will remain intact unless you want it yourself), so the first step is to make a preliminary backup (backup) of all the important data that you will be sorry to part with.

Fortunately, the pre-installed applications include "Copy and Restore" ("Copy and Restore" with a safe handle icon in the menu), which will make this process much less complicated and painful.

Then you should go to "Settings" (can be found in the general list of applications in the main menu), scroll down the list that opens to "Backup and reset" in the PERSONAL DATA section, and there find the item "General reset". Having read the warnings about deleting all data and confirming the seriousness of your intentions by pressing the "Reset phone settings" button again, you will start an irreversible process that will make your work with the device as smooth and pleasant as it should be.

It should also be noted that in case your phone finally and irrevocably freezes and does not respond to any actions and pressing physical buttons on your part, Sony engineers have provided a special button hidden under the flap and located right next to the Micro SD card port - slightly above and to the left. It is very small and can only be pressed with a ballpoint pen or a similar thin object. The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact will force reboot.

Forgetting your password or pattern is very easy. This is a common problem that causes some to even run into service center. But in fact, you should not waste time looking for such a center in your city. Below is a guide for owners of Sony Xperia, with which you can easily bypass the lock screen. By the way, It is she who is used in service centers.

Please note that this text is intended specifically for unlocking Xperia smartphones. On devices from other manufacturers, you will have to try to bypass the blocking in other ways.

  2. After entering the last character, the service menu will be displayed. It is also called engineering. Here select "Service Tests".

Perhaps you have not encountered such a problem, but it is possible that someday you will have to deal with this and then you really need to know what to do. In this case, we are talking about blocking the phone with foreign SIM cards, that is, when purchasing a phone abroad, you will find that for some reason he does not want to work at home and the point here is not at all in marriage. How to unlock Sony Xperia when this happens? Yes, in principle, just like any other device - using the IMEI code. In principle, for users who are used to constantly changing phones, while buying them abroad or from sellers importing them from there, there are no more questions and how to unlock sony phone Xperia or some other, they know very well.

How to unlock Sony Xperia by IMEI

For security purposes, all phones are assembled with their own personal digital identifier consisting of sixteen numbers. Here, data about the manufacturer, production date and the model itself are encrypted, as well as much more, and besides this, using the IMEI code, it becomes possible to detect lost or stolen phones. Before you unlock Sony Xperia, you need to find the code for your device, with its help you can also find out which operator the smartphone is locked to. It should be noted that the code is unique and there is no second such, regardless of the manufacturer, each of the phones produced is always equipped with its own code. It cannot be changed or erased, since it is, in fact, separate program built into the phone and at the same time giving an answer not only to how to unlock a Sony Xperia phone, but also other phones.

Naturally, for those users who have not previously encountered a similar problem, the question will arise, but in fact, where to look for this IMEI? As it turns out, you don’t have to go far, it’s enough to take, for example, a box from under the phone, on it, in the barcode area, IMEI will be indicated, along with a description of the product. Since unlocking the Sony Xperia is possible only in this way, you will have to try to find, if not a box, then at least a passport, where, among other data, the code will also be indicated. If for some reason it was not found either, just look under the phone's battery, where the code is displayed on the company label. Confident Users already know how to unlock Sony Xperia and use the most reliable way– by pressing the *#06# keys, which eventually leads to the appearance of the necessary information on the screen.

Using the IMEI code entered in the search bar, the user receives a code, which is actually the answer to how to unlock a Sony Xperia phone. The received codes are entered into the phone, which can then work regardless of the geographic location and operator's network. The situation when the question arises of how to unlock Sony Xperia has been constantly encountered lately, as the range of gadgets offered is expanding, but, unfortunately, they are not always available in our stores, and if they are available, then not everyone can afford. While abroad, many use this opportunity not only to see the sights, but also to purchase a new smartphone model, since its cost really allows it. Naturally, after such purchases, a reasonable question arises, but how to unlock Sony Xperia, but only for those who first decided to shop here.

To avoid unpleasant surprises, and it’s not a secret that many people immediately begin to blame the seller or manufacturer, it’s better to ask the store in advance about the need to unlock, and you already know how to unlock a Sony Xperia phone and it won’t take much time. It is enough to try it once to understand that there is nothing dangerous for the phone here. By learning how to unlock Sony Xperia, the user will be able to purchase phones in other countries in the future and unlock quickly, enjoying rich functionality. In order to understand how to unlock Sony Xperia, no serious experience is required at all, and if desired, even a novice user familiar with the basics of working on the Internet can easily complete this procedure. If earlier, when buying a gadget, they didn’t even think about how to unlock the sSony Xperia phone, then today’s realities force the user to know and be able to do more, unless of course he wants to have convenient and modern functionality at his disposal.

Without going into details, I will say that I found myself in such a situation:

  • there is a Sony XPeria SL phone (for XPeria S, and indeed for many smartphones of this line, everything is the same);
  • graphic key entered incorrectly 20 times, respectively screen is locked;
  • google account loginnot completed;
  • as a result, the phone wants to be entered the answer to Secret Question, a no one knows the answer to this, because it was introduced blindly out of frivolity and contains 100% bilebird.
(
What follows is the story of how I unsuccessfully tried to unlock the phone in various ways.
Outcome: flashing required, it is very simple, it takes 20 minutes, photos, videos, etc. are saved, but applications are not.

BUT: perhaps some other, less radical method, of which I have tried several, will help you.
)

did not force the smart to issue the screen for entering the graphic key again.

The phone is new (one day old), so it could be take it to service, perhaps it would even be free, but I did not want to waste time on it. I had never dealt with tormenting phones before, so it was a little scary, but also interesting.

Selection of the answer to the secret question did nothing for an hour. Although I remembered the movement of the finger when it was entered, and even the number of resulting words and their length, but the uncompromisingly included intellectual input destroyed the entire input billet.

Google offers a lot of options.
I didn’t want to get involved with something unnatural for the user (by the way, the phone was not mine, this fact forced me to do only deliberate actions), so I was interested in this live hack: call the phone, then it will be possible to lower the top panel, and from it to get to the settings, and remove the block. Of course, that would be too much of a security hole, and it didn't work. Moreover, I did not even manage to press the end call button: any attempt to step aside ends with a message about the need to enter the answer to the security question.

The rest of the options come down to necessity. reset all phone settings to default-- the password will be reset with them.

An option has been proposed take out the battery, and hold down some buttons for a few seconds. But firstly, the XPeria S has a non-removable (without a screwdriver) battery, and secondly, the settings are in non-volatile memory, so stupid.

By the way, reboot is performed by long pressing the volume up and power buttons simultaneously-- a useful combination for all users, in case of a total freeze (although in the 4th android I did not notice this yet, but in the 2nd it happened).

Before trying to clear everything, it's a good idea to save all data from the phone. In general, there was almost no data in my case, except for a few photos, but I didn’t want to lose them either. But here's the problem: with a locked screen, throw it on a computer nothing will work. PC Companion also refused to do so. There is nothing to be done, resigned.

Another great option suggested by Google, which I even believed in at first:
press the emergency call button, and enter *#*#7378423#*#* there

You don't have to press the call button - the service menu will appear by itself.
In ordinary life, this combination can also be entered in the usual number entry field - not only an emergency call.
In the menu that opens, you can find a bunch of all sorts of interesting things, but we need the last line ( Customization Settings) - click it, then - Reset customization and, finally, we confirm the action by pressing the corresponding button. As planned, this should reset all settings and reboot the phone. Voila, and nothing happened. Nothing at all.

Here are two more interesting combinations:
*#06# --IMEI
*#*#4636#*#* - any info about the phone.

Finally, the search led me to Update Service. We download the program from the official site, install it, and do what it says. You will need to select a phone model from the list (there are even pictures!), connect the phone by performing a special ritual (however, not complicated), and press "Next" all the time. The installer will deflate latest firmware 300 meters and fill it on the phone. All this takes 10-15 minutes.
After that, the phone feels reborn -- all settings as when buying. Bonus -- all photos saved: although a discrete memory card is not provided, nevertheless, it virtually exists.

It only remained to drive in the settings, put a new graphic key and reasonable answer to the security question.

Only one moment unknown to me: how such a flashing affects the warranty. It seems like the official software was used and official firmware, and I can’t imagine how it can be distinguished from the one that stood before, but you never know.

I want to separately express my gratitude to Sony for Update Service - a very simple, understandable and easy-to-use program. In Russian, there are no unnecessary questions, he explains everything in detail, point by point, with pictures and animation, and even the color scheme is pleasant. I'm delighted in short.

A number of conclusions can be drawn from this story:
1. always follows carefully relate to all passwords;
2. do not act recklessly, especially podshofe;
3. take care of backup data.

Moreover, in fact, it turns out that from the moment you lose your phone to the moment when all the data is copied from it, it may take less than 15 minutes, regardless of whether a screen lock password is set or not.

Therefore, perhaps you should think about encrypting some data, as well as mandatory installation of a PIN code on the SIM card.
