PRINT Image Matching plugin for Adobe Photoshop

Color management is one of the major issues that all digital image lovers face. The same photo looks different on different monitors or when printing on different printers or different papers. EPSON printers and scanners support a single master color management system as standard. They also support ICC* color management. ICC is an open and cross-platform color management platform in which each device is treated as a color-enhancing profile.

EPSON ICC profiles are shipped with standard driver to the printer and can be used to edit photos in different programs(for example, Adobe Photoshop). Here are three steps that will allow you to set the color compatibility of your computer with devices such as printer and scanner. Please note that this only applies to files in RGB format.

If your monitor and printer have different color gamuts, EPSON recommends that you adjust colors by following these instructions (Color adjustments are based on Adobe Photoshop Version 6.0)

Screen calibration

First, adjust your monitor's linearity by setting the Color temperature to 5000K and the Gamma Value to 1.8 (Mac) and 2.2 (PC).

These settings are changed in the following menu:

For Macintosh: Apple/Control Panel/Monitor/Color
For PC: you can use the Adobe gamma utility that comes with Adobe Photoshop 6.0

Now you need to set your color options in Photoshop and determine your monitor's color gamut.

Setting color options in Adobe Photoshop 6.0

Open the dialog box by selecting Adobe Photoshop 6.0 from the menu Edit - Color Settings and set the following parameters in it:

EPSON Printer Driver Setting

EPSON ICC profiles are supplied with the driver. They are automatically installed during the installation of the printer driver and are stored on the hard drive in the following folders:

Mac: System - Colorsync Profiles
PC Win 98/95/Me: Windows - System - Color
PC Win 2000: Windows - System32 - Spool - Drivers - Color

When you install the driver on a Macintosh, ICC profiles for each paper type are also automatically installed. You can find the desired profile by searching for the name of the paper. The PC only comes with a driver for the printer.

You can manually set the parameters for the driver in the menu Mode-Advanced settings- as below:

If you select "No Color Management" on this screen, the color management will be set by the Color Management Module (CMM: Adobe ACE).
Please do not select a specific color setting such as Automatic, Photo Enhanced, or Colorsync, as this will cause the color calibration to be set twice, which may adversely affect print quality.

And finally, you only need to set the desired EPSON profile in the print menu, as shown in the figure below.

*Note:
The ICC Profile is an acronym for the International Color Consortium (ICC) and is a description of color processing methods. specific device, which can be a scanner, digital camera, monitor, printer or printing machine. A profile describes the color range or gamut of a device, and how the device distorts color. With the ICC profiling technology built into the software, you automatically create output calibration profiles that allow you to set more natural colors.
