Nokia 3310

Old school black and white Nokia 3310- is rightfully considered one of the most popular devices of the Finnish brand, and its legendary indestructibility made it a real Chuck Norris among phones. As it turned out, this classic inspires not only new memes, but also the creation of works of art.

So, the guests of the Moscow presentation of new products, which took place on May 16, were able to get acquainted with the techno-art object "Signal" by the artist Dmitry Morozov, known under the pseudonym: vtol::. The unusual constructivist-looking tower went 19 Nokia phones, and they retained their ability to make sounds, turning it into one of the key properties of the art object. Everyone present at the event could call or send an SMS to the numbers indicated on the stand, thereby causing the devices to ring, and the strings attached to them to vibrate, making some kind of cosmic sounds.

The Nokia 3310 is back with a fresh and up-to-date design: it has become noticeably sleeker, thinner and lighter than its progenitor, but retains its recognizable design elements, a sturdy body, a long-lasting battery (one month standby time, 22 hours of talk time) and, of course, the pre-installed Snake game.

Key features of the Nokia 3310 are a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, SD card support up to 32 GB, flashlight, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM technology, FM radio and MP3 player. The phone is available in four colors: glossy red and yellow, as well as matte gray and blue. The price of the updated Nokia 3310 is 3 990 rubles.

Help: HMD Global

Company HMD Global, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is a new manufacturer of smartphones, phones and tablets Nokia. HMD develops and sells a range of smartphones and mobile phones in various price ranges designed for a wide range of consumers. Committed to innovation and quality, HMD is proud to be the exclusive licensee to manufacture Nokia branded mobile phones and tablets. Nokia is a registered trademark of Nokia Corporation.

Nokia is a truly legendary brand, and about the old push-button phones now many remember fondly. Unfortunately, mobile devices Nokia had to go through a difficult path from fantastic popularity to almost complete oblivion. Several companies tried to give the brand a new life, including Microsoft, which promoted their mobile version Windows.

However, attempts by the corporation did not bring financial success. And smartphones from Nokia would have been forgotten forever if the Finnish company HMD Global had not stepped in. And under their leadership, new Nokia smartphones are ready to compete even with major market players. And the greatest attention of Nokia fans is now riveted to the X6 model, the date of the start of sales of which in Russia became known literally today.

Nokia X6 debuted in China in May, and until recently it was sold exclusively in China. But a few days ago, its international version became available for purchase in Hong Kong. Now other parts of the globe, including Russia, are next in line. Information about the release date of the novelty in our country fell into the hands of the authors of MXsmart from one of the retailers, according to them, if everything goes as planned, on the shelves Russian stores Nokia X6 will hit in mid-August. Moreover, the name of the smartphone will be different - Nokia 6.1 Plus. The only difference is in the name, technical specification device will not be affected.

Many modern smartphones copy the design of the iPhone X, and Nokia X6 will join them. The smartphone will have a recognizable cutout at the top of the display under front camera and sensors, however, much more compact than that of the "apple" flagship. On the front of the case there will be a 5.8-inch IPS display with thin frames and a resolution of 2280 by 1080 pixels, a 16 megapixel front camera is hidden in the cutout. On the back of the case there will be a horizontally positioned dual camera with 16 + 5 megapixel modules and a fingerprint scanner. Among the hardware is an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor at 1.8 GHz, Adreno 509 graphics, 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal memory. 3060mAh battery will support the function fast charging Quick Charge 3.0.

As for the cost of the smartphone, one can only guess about it, given how much they ask for the Nokia X6 at home - in China. So an advanced version of the novelty in the Celestial Empire can be purchased for 16,000 rubles in terms of Chinese currency. Given the high taxes, customs fees and transport costs, do not be surprised if in Russia for basic version Nokia X6 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM will ask for all 21,000 rubles. In any case, let's wait and see, especially since there is nothing left to wait.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2018 Nokia 6 features improved performance, faster battery life and a sleeker design. The cost of new items has also increased, but at the same time, Nokia 6 has every chance to take a strong position in the middle price segment.

Advantages:

  • improved performance compared to the previous model;
  • aluminium case;
  • short charging time.

Flaws:

  • grainy images in low light conditions;
  • increased price compared to the original revision;
  • The screen aspect ratio is 16:9, not 18:9.

The original Nokia 6 is the first of Nokia's new line of smartphones. In January 2017, the phone became available for purchase in China - and was quickly sold out there even before it appeared on the European market a little later. The cost of the updated version of Nokia 6 is slightly higher, but in return the buyer receives improved performance, stylish design and faster charging.

The phone targets the already crowded mid-range market. Is he able to stand out from the competition in some way?

Sales start date and priceNokia 6 (2018)

The smartphone will go on sale in April 2018. It is reported that its market value will be €279. According to our estimates, in Russia you will have to pay about 20 thousand rubles for the updated Nokia 6.

Along with the model, other novelties in the Nokia smartphone lineup will also enter the market, including Nokia 1, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus with an 18:9 screen format.

Screen and design

Nokia's standard trick for making a phone incredibly usable at this price is to take a single piece of aluminum and carve it into the right shape for the device. It turned out good decision for the original Nokia 6 - and continues to be so within the updated model.

You feel a solid and sturdy phone with a monolithic body without a hint of the presence of separate plastic or metal parts in it. constituent parts. At the top of the back there is a small plastic plate, but you will find the same on almost all metal phones, since it acts as a "window" for passing the signal to the antennas.

HMD Global (the company that develops new smartphones under the Nokia brand) also stood out this year with its double anodizing process. It is used to make cases with blue bottoms and embedded gold "sequins", although the metal under the top layer is not blue or gold. This phone looks very stylish.

Other color options for the new model include black with copper highlights and white with an iron-look finish. Made in a much more restrained manner (compared to the bright bold colors of older smartphones Nokia Lumia) design looks very elegant.

Other changes affect the position of some controls. The fingerprint scanner, previously located at the front, has moved under the camera to the center. The user can also unlock using face identification, although it is still difficult to say how well this function works.

Gone from the front panel and touch buttons - now they are fully simulated on the screen by means of the operating system. This decision gives the phone a more accurate look.

The new Nokia 6 uses a fairly traditional 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD screen. The image on it is clear, the colors are "juicy" - as expected from a display in this price category.

However, an aspect ratio of 18:9 would be preferable. Such wide screens allow you to cover more space above and below the front panel. This design gives the smartphone a modern appearance, and in games provides additional space under the thumbs.

Screens with a ratio of 18:9 have not yet become familiar on mid-range models. But by the end of the year, they may become standard for smartphones in this segment. Therefore, it’s a little disappointing to see a 16:9 ratio on the Nokia 6 (2018).

Performance and operating system

The original Nokia 6 creaks a bit when loaded with overly complex tasks. Unfortunately, it is based only on the chipset entry level snapdragon 430.

This time the performance has improved. The new revision of Nokia 6 is equipped with a much more powerful GPU Adreno 508 and overclocked Snapdragon 630 chipset.

We were only able to carry out the basic Nokia testing 6 (2018), but the model lives up to expectations: android work raises no objections. Based on our past experience with phones based on Snapdragon 630 chipset, the device will run demanding games like Asphalt 8 without any problems.

Like other modern Nokia smartphones, the new model runs on an unmodified version of the Android OS. It is part of the platform android one, so it lacks both various memory-clogging pre-installed applications and inconvenient non-standard interface elements.

Take a look at the photo: it looks exactly like a Google Pixel. Some might say that with this approach, the new Nokia 6 does not stand out in any way - but in a simple and clean operating system there is definitely nothing wrong.

The 2018 smartphone will be released in two versions: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, the second with 4 GB and 64 GB, respectively. However, both models are equipped with a microSD port, which will allow you to increase the memory of the drive.

Camera

Unlike more expensive Nokia smartphones such as the Nokia 7 Plus, the sixth 2018 model has just a single 16-megapixel camera with an upgraded Zeiss lens on the back.

We've only tested it in a relatively dark room, and in those conditions, the photos are quite grainy. However, this is to be expected from a camera with a similar resolution and without the stabilization function.

On the front is an 8MP selfie camera. With the help of the front and main lenses, the Nokia Bothie function is implemented, which allows you to combine images from two cameras at once in one shot - a real find for Instagram lovers.

Battery

Time battery life- Another characteristic that is difficult to reliably judge on this moment. Like the previous Nokia 6, the new model is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. However, we have reason to believe that the 2018 revision will be somewhat "hardier" than its predecessor, which discharges in one day.

The Snapdragon 630 chipset has lower power consumption, since its production uses a 14-nm process technology - however, this is unlikely to extend battery life to at least two days. Especially when using a smartphone.

This time, fast charging is included in the basic feature set. previous version Nokia 6 also had this feature - but when buying a phone, a special Charger not supplied. Who wants to spend more more money after making an already expensive purchase?

Nokia 6 2018 charges from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. And although this is not the best result among smartphones, it can be called a move forward.

Preliminary estimate

Nokia 6 2018 does not claim to be a radical update model range middle price segment. However, the new model brings a number of significant improvements that correct some of the shortcomings of the previous version.

The phone has improved performance, faster charging times and likely longer battery life. However, the main factors of attractiveness of Nokia 6 - all-metal body and attractive price - remain unchanged.
