This is not a program, it’s a start window, so to speak, here they also want to install such a program as Picosmos Tools, this is a program for processing pictures, well, like graphics editor. Well, there are no words at all! What am I talking about? And about the fact that everything here is done so stylishly and so, well, damn it, it’s somehow convenient or something, somehow competently, well, I hope you understand what I mean. The Settings tab was immediately opened in the window, that is, the very first tab, here you can change the folder Destination folder, that is, the folder where the result of the work will be placed, so to speak. You can check the box so that the result is immediately in the source folder. You can also check the box so that the file name is more informative, well, there it says the resolution of the video, the format .. Here are the checkboxes, see:

At the bottom of this tab there is also a checkmark Check the new version, well, I don’t know about me, but I don’t like the program to climb into the network just to check if there is new version… If you don’t like it either, then uncheck this box

So, now I have opened the Font tab, well, what can I say here, here you can change the font, so to speak, choose for yourself, you can also change the color of the font and frame. But what kind of frame, I don’t really understand, well, in general, here are these settings, see:

Now we go to the Advanced tab, to be honest, I don’t know what these options are, and there are very few of them, so I’ll skip this tab, I think that nothing needs to be changed here. Well, just in case, I'll show you how it looks, here, look:

So, then comes the Photo tab. So what is it in general, there are some two sliders, and the quality is written there, so what is it? Well, guys, what exactly these sliders are for, I don’t quite understand. But I think that the quality of the images is set here when converting. In any case, if anything, there is nothing complicated, here is this tab:

Here, as you can see, there are two sliders, namely JPG Quality and WebP Quality. Well, for the second, I can’t say anything, but for the first, I know what it is jpeg format, a very popular format, probably the most popular image format. Well, here you set the quality, you already understood this, but how much to set? I don’t know how the quality is set in this program, but in my program that I use, well, it’s also a graphics editor, and so there I have a jpeg quality of 80, as for me, this is the ideal ratio of quality and size. So I don’t show you the rest of the tabs, and not because I don’t want to, no, it’s just that there are settings not for the program itself, but for video formats. That is, on the other tabs, you can customize the formats to suit your requirements, to be honest, I don’t really rummage about it, well, because as I already wrote, I rarely ever converted anything at all .. Launching, configuring and working in the "Format Factory" converter

Installation is extremely simple, done in two clicks, so there is simply nothing to describe here. The only thing worth noting is that it is advisable to check the "Install inside codecs" box (in the final installation menu), so that the program uses its own codecs when performing conversion operations.

After launching the application, the main window of the program appears before us (see image).

Let's start right away with the settings for yourself, beloved.

General settings are made through the menu "Actions" -> "Settings" (see image).

On the first tab "Settings" in the field " Destination folder"(1) you can specify the folder where the converted files will be placed, and apply the template in the name of the output file.

In chapter " After conversion"(2) you can define what action will be performed after the conversion process is completed: turn off the computer / open the folder with the result. 1. The left panel selects the action to be taken with the media files;
2. In the window that appears, select source files and the setting is made. Then the button " Ok" is pressed;
3. In the main window of the program, the "Start" button is pressed;
4. We are waiting for the conversion process to complete;
5. The files are ready for viewing (and are located in the appropriate folder).

Now let's illustrate the process a bit. Let's say you need to convert a video file from mp4 to avi format and do it with the highest possible quality. Select the desired format " All in AVI" ( 1), set the quality (button " Customize"Opposite the line" Quality"), specify the location desired file(2) and press the button " Ok».

Note:
If you didn't bother to delve into the program settings and didn't specify the destination folder for the converted file, it's still not too late to do it. Click "Select" and decide on the place of permanent residence of your content.

Pay attention to such an element as the status bar (1), it displays what we are actually trying to do and what this attempt will then result in as a finished file.

After the conversion, you can safely go to the final file receiver, where, in fact, the converted file should appear. We launch it and see if everything suits us.

The process of converting audio files/images to various formats is completely identical to the process of converting video. Experiment - and see for yourself.

What I would like to note about the conversion process itself: firstly, the conversion occurs with minimal quality loss (if any), and secondly, the time it takes for the program to convert files depends on the size of the files themselves and the iron agility of your computer friend. In terms of speed, Format Factory, in general, is not inferior to paid counterparts.

Getting information about a video file
Some avid videophiles are obsessed with the quality of their monitors. Agree, it's nice when you have a monitor like a screen in a cinema (with FullHD picture quality), and you can fully enjoy the riot of colors and the action that unfolds on the other side blue screen. Why am I doing this..

In addition to a high-quality monitor (how to choose one, you will soon find a powerful iron review in our best traditions, don't miss it) you also need a file of the appropriate format, bitrate, with the right codec, and other miscellaneous things. However, it is far from always clear what kind of video file (with what parameters) is on the computer, especially if there is no decent player that can help with this. And here it’s not just FullHD, here don’t-understand-what-HD-file, what parameters it has and whether it will be played at all.

So, Format Factory is in a hurry to help us, which can show fairly accurate and detailed information about video files, for example: format, duration, codec used, bit rate, number of frames per second, frame sizes horizontally and vertically, etc.

In order to get this information, you need to select the “ Advanced" tab in the left pane, the last item in it is " Media FileInfo", then specify the file that we want to analyze (by clicking the " Select"), and - voila! - in the same second we get a pretty impressive list technical information about the file (see image).

How to glue fins video files
To glue 2 or more video files, you need to go to the “Advanced" tab in the left panel and select " Combine video". After that, in the window that appears, select the final format from the list (1) and add the video files to be merged. Before starting the merging, you need to make sure that the source video files are arranged in the order in which they should follow in the final video. If this is If not, you can move them using the up and down buttons (see image).

Note:
Pay attention to the item " List of files", which allows you to perform various operations with added video clips, whether it is: deleting, clearing the list, playback and obtaining technical information. You can also merge not only several fragments of video files, but also feed the converter an entire folder with all the digital content located there.

Before merging files, you can view the source fragments and configure some codec parameters (button "Settings" on the panel "File List", see image).

• "Use Multi-Threads" (use processing by multiple threads) - is set by checking the box in the corresponding field;
• « High priority» - is set in context menu file by clicking the right mouse button and changing the priority to a higher one (see image).

At the end of the process, you should get a kind of hodgepodge of two (or more) video fragments following each other. The process of gluing audio files is similar to the one described above, so you can easily master it yourself, but we’ll probably figure out how to overlay audio on video.

How to add audio to video
A very useful feature that will appeal to novice video editors and not only.

Let's say you recorded a video and want to overlay a simple background music on it. To do this, select "Mux" from the list on the left. Next, in the appropriate fields, you must specify the name of the video file (1): only the video stream will be taken from it (attention!).

In the lower field (2) you should specify the audio file from which the audio stream will be taken and superimposed on the above video fragment.

Note:
Do not forget to set the desired format of the final file and set the required quality (item " Customize" of the Mux tab).

As a result of all the manipulations done (indicated in the image), I got a rather funny video that demonstrates the gameplay of the Assassins Сreed 3 video game, where the main character is worn to the sounds of Rammstein :).

How to extract audio from video
I must say right away that there is no direct extraction function as such in Format Factory, but there is an “indirect” one that also does its job well.

In order to "pull out" the sound from the video, you should use the item " All in mp3"("Audio" tab). Then specify the video file from which you want to extract the audio track, and start the operation (button "Start" on the panel). Well .. That's it, in a few seconds you will enjoy a separate audio track, without the "annoying" video :).

How to make a GIF animation from a video
Easier nowhere! To do this, use the convert to GIF item “ All to GIF" (the command is located in the " Video"), and specify the desired video file as the source file ("File" button). In addition, you can easily customize the parameters of the animation file by clicking on the button " Customize"(See image).
