Alcatel one touch idol 2 mini description. Memory cards are used in mobile devices to increase the storage capacity for storing data.

Idol 2 Mini S is one of the few mid-budget models that supports 4G networks. Actually, the device itself is not far from its brother in the line, Idol 2 Mini, in terms of characteristics. The body of the phone is made entirely of plastic. On the sides are metal inserts. Management is made by means of 3 touch keys. The shell for Android is not much different from other Alcatel devices: a lot of useful applications are preinstalled.

The Mini S has a screen size of 4.5 inches, which is 0.5 inches smaller than the Idol 2. However, this does not greatly affect the usability. The display works on an IPS-matrix and supports a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels. Serious defects of the screen are not noticed. The main 8 MP video camera does not stand out much against the background of eminent flagships from Samsung, Apple or Nokia. However, it is quite suitable for everyday use, giving a photo with a maximum resolution of 3264 by 1836. The clarity of the pictures is not the most ideal. But buying Alcatel just for the sake of a video camera does not make much sense. The quad-core processor allows you to run demanding 3D games, including the popular Asphalt 8.

The 2000 mAh battery is enough for 1-2 days of work at an average load (without running games). If desired, you can turn on the saving mode in the phone settings. Fully charging the battery takes about 2 hours.

The Idol 2 Mini S model is suitable for those who are not used to paying big money for flagship smartphones, but not ready to give up Android. But here it is important to understand whether 4G/LTE is mandatory. If not, then you should pay attention to the same Idol 2 Mini or older models, since in other respects the phone is clearly stuck in the past.

Announced several new models of smartphones from the line Alcatel Idol 2. Among them was new phone, located on the border of the middle and budget price segments - Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini.

Judge for yourself: the starting price of $230 is a bit high for budget smartphone, and a number of technical features. Definitely, a quad-core processor, good performance, nice design - hint that the smartphone is still a middle-class device, but the display, whose pixel density is somewhat small, spoils the overall impression a bit. The fact that some versions of the device are equipped with only 512 MB of RAM cannot please.

In terms of design- Idol 2 Mini can't boast of any innovations: it is a typical modern touch smartphone, the appearance of which combines straight lines and rounded corners. The same Lenovo or Samsung produce devices that are not very different from this in appearance. And there is nothing to say about countless products from "eastern friends" that copy all fashion trends. Pleased with the build quality of the device.

A review of the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini smartphone will allow you to get acquainted with the functionality of the device and its capabilities in more detail.

Specifications Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini

Of course, the device's processor is one of its main advantages. All the same, the smartphone does not use a budget processor from MTK, but a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8226, operating at frequencies up to 1.2 GHz.

In three-dimensional games, as well as when playing heavy videos, the Adreno 305 graphics accelerator comes to the rescue.

Random access memory there is 1 GB, which is not so much by modern standards, but it is quite enough for most tasks. But versions with model numbers 6016A and 6016E have half as much RAM - only 512 MB.

Together, this digital "team" allows the smartphone to show pretty good results: 18 thousand "parrots" in AnTuTu - although this is far from the current flagship Galaxy S6 (gaining almost 70 thousand), it is quite acceptable for most gaming applications.

Content can be stored as internal memory , about 6 GB or 2.5 of which is available to the user (the total amount is 4 and 8 GB, respectively), and on a removable memory card. The latter is not supported in all models (only 6016X, 6016A can have a capacity of up to 32 GB (SDXC standard, unfortunately, is not supported).

Responsible for device autonomy lithium ion battery, which has a capacity of 1700 mAh. It is enough for 3 days of standby time, a day of listening to music on headphones and only 4-5 hours of gaming and watching videos.

The touchscreen of the smartphone has a glass coating, the display module itself is made using OGS technology (the sensor and the matrix form a single whole). Its use allows you to improve the quality of the picture, achieve a thinner device, but be careful: if you break the glass, you will have to change the entire module, even if the sensor responds well to touch. This cannot be called a minus - rather, a call for caution, given the design features.

equipped with IPS display, whose diagonal is 4.5 inches. The picture resolution is 960x540 pixels, which is quite tolerable, but not enough (especially for those who were tempted to hold any flagship with Full-HD). The screen brightness is good, the picture is quite distinguishable under the sun's rays. Viewing angles are also excellent.

The device has a basic camera 8 MP and frontal, with VGA matrix resolution. The rear lens is equipped with both autofocus and flash. There are functions of face recognition and focusing by swing. There are no complaints about the quality of pictures in good lighting. However, at dusk, the photos come out “not very”: a lot of noise, the photosensitivity is frankly insufficient. There is a front camera for selfies.

Multimedia capabilities of the device

The sound quality of the speaker (located at the bottom of the rear panel) is quite acceptable, only the high frequencies let us down a bit. In conjunction with good headphones The Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini sounds great overall. There should be no problems with format support: the Android OS has ample opportunities for installing third-party players.

Works Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini running the system android version 4.3. Not the most recent, but still relevant. GUI The system has been slightly modified by the manufacturer, it also contains some applications that are not in the "pure" Android.

Pros and cons of Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini

Definitely, the device is not without merit. The main ones are:

  • Productive iron;
  • High-quality display;
  • High-quality case;
  • Good sound.

But, you can not miss the disadvantages of the smartphone:

  • Mediocre battery;
  • Small amount of RAM and lack of support for memory cards (applies to individual versions).

Conclusion

As the review showed, Smartphone Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini deserves a lifetime. The model came out pretty good, quite productive. And there are no complaints about the quality of execution. We were upset only by a weak battery and the presence on the market of models with reduced functionality. Therefore, when buying - pay attention to the model number, so as not to be mistaken!

The quality of a smartphone is determined primarily by its parameters. According to them, you can talk about how long the device will last you and whether it is worth buying such a smartphone at all. But what do they say about idol 2 mini specifications?

Visual component

At Alcatel one touch idol 2 mini characteristics rest on visual data. Based on them, the developers collected all the other components of the device. Its weight is only 110 grams, taking into account the thickness of less than 8 mm. Impressive, isn't it?

Before you is a standard monoblock with three touch keys below. Its unique feature is the metallic silver frame, which gives the phone an elegant look. The case is made quite soundly. To find fault with any backlash or other problems is simply unrealistic. The device gives the impression of a premium class, although, in fact, it is a state employee.

On the right there is a power button, and above the volume rocker. It is also used to block the sensor of the device. On the left is a slot for a SIM card, covered with a plug. Below are the USB port and microphone. Very competently separated charger and headset connector. Many users noted this as one of the bright advantages of this device.

On the rear plastic cover are the main camera, LED flash and an additional microphone for quality sound in videos. The front of the device, in addition to touch keys and a screen with an oleophobic coating, has a speaker grille and a front camera.

Camera

If we talk about cameras, then idol 2 mini's characteristics are more than acceptable. The main camera takes pictures at a resolution of 5 megapixels, and videos at 1280x720. All this is complemented by a fairly high-quality autofocus and elegantly inscribed flash. At the same time, the pictures are obtained in quality much higher than that of smartphones from other brands, the cameras of which, according to statements, reach eight and even 13 megapixels.

The front camera in such a smartphone is a disadvantage for modern man, since it is not intended for selfies, but only for communication and has a very modest resolution by modern standards - only 0.3 megapixels. If you are not a fan of taking pictures of yourself, then this device is the very thing.

Battery

The battery in the smartphone is lithium-ion and non-removable. Its volume is 1700 mAh. The manufacturer promises that the battery can autonomously spend at least 400 hours in standby and 5 in active use. An excellent result for a budget smartphone. When taking into account one SIM card and a minimum set of applications, battery consumption is really low. And not too productive hardware contributes to even greater savings.

Memory and performance

We can safely say that the memory characteristics of idol 2 mini are not encouraging, but they are not upsetting either. These are standard 1 gigabytes of RAM and 4 gigabytes of non-volatile or RAM. Based on the latest technical innovations, these are not the best indicators. Although if you remember that the device was released in 2014, there is nothing to be surprised at.

Regarding the "iron" component, one should not expect special miracles either. The device has a processor capable of overclocking each of its four cores to a frequency of 1.2 GHz. These indicators are sufficient to work with simple programs, like messengers, but no more. Do not forget that the device is primarily positioned as a fashion and at the same time budget. And in the case of an attractive appearance at a low price, it is rarely possible to find a more or less productive hardware.

To improve performance, you can root the device and remove some built-in applications. This will allow, in addition to reducing the load on the processor, to offload a certain amount of non-volatile memory, which is not too much here anyway.

conclusions

Smartphone Alcatel one touch idol 2 mini is a 4.5-inch rugged touchscreen phone with IPS-matrix. This smartphone with a low price, 4-core processor and "Android" 4.4 fell in love with thousands of people. It will be a suitable option for those who value lightness. Of the minuses, one can note a slot for only one SIM card, which may not be enough in today's conditions of fierce competition between operators, and not the most productive hardware, which reduces the comfort of use. It will ideally fit into the role of an additional gadget for use in rare cases, as the main smartphone, it will not be able to provide the full range of opportunities provided by the modern electronic world.

Positioning

The Idol line has become a kind of breakthrough for Alcatel - an interesting design, good functionality, reasonable price. The appearance of the Mini version with a low price made these devices even more popular, they entered the mass segment. In fact, we can say that Alcatel has created an excellent offer in terms of price / quality ratio, materials and appearance- these models are very different from what we see in most Chinese manufacturers. And at the same time the cost is at the same level.

In 2014, there were no major changes in the design, the entire line received an update of the filling, but at the same time retained the design, which still looks fresh. In my opinion, Alcatel devices can be recommended as youthful, bright solutions - they will be chosen by those who prioritize not only functionality, but also how the device looks. This is a rare case when the form complements the content very well. I like the latest line of devices from Alcatel, they are quite pleasant in Everyday life, but at the same time there are not enough stars from heaven. A sort of pragmatic choice - a phone that you can use for several years, and then change it to another. Actually, that's all it says.

Design, dimensions, controls

Lined up Idol Mini 2 includes several models, for reasons of simplicity, you can combine them into one review, since, by and large, they are the same in the eyes of the consumer. Let's list all modifications:

  • Idol Mini 2 6016X - Single SIM, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, microSD, UMTS 900/2100
  • Idol Mini 2 6016D - two SIM-cards, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, UMTS 900/2100
  • Idol Mini 2 6016A - single SIM, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB built-in, microSD, UMTS 900/2100
  • Idol Mini 2 6016E - dual SIM, 512 MB RAM, 8 GB built-in, UMTS 850/1900/2100
  • Idol Mini 2 S 6036A - Single SIM, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, LTE Bands 1,2,4,7,17, no NFC
  • Idol Mini 2 S 6036X - Single SIM, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, LTE Bands 1,3,7,8,20,28, no NFC
  • Idol Mini 2 S 6036Y - Single SIM, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, LTE Bands 1,3,7,8,20, NFC

The review is written based on version 6036Y, this is the best configuration of this device. All versions use a chipset from Qualcomm. In Russia, version 6036Y is sold by the Beeline operator and partially branded by it (screensavers in the menu, etc.).

Outwardly, we have a typical Alcatel - this means a nice plastic case, monoblock construction. The manufacturer offers a model in different colors, but as a rule, you can find a dark silver device in retail.

The phone size is 129.5x63.5x8.5 mm, weight is 116 grams. Compact and fits well in the hand. The front panel is one-color (depending on the color of the case, so, in white version it is also white). On the front side, this device is difficult to distinguish from other models, it starts to play if you turn it over - the body has a slight bend, nice plastic, which is resistant to abrasion. On the back surface you can see a large speaker, at the top - LED flash, as well as an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus.

On the left side there is a slot for a SIM card, as well as for cards microSD memory, on the right - a paired volume key and an on / off button. The 3.5 mm jack was placed on the top end, while the microUSB port was placed on the bottom. On the ends you can also see holes for microphones, there are two of them.

There is a light indicator above the screen, front-camera, as well as an LED, it can be configured to work on missed calls or events. In general, the build quality is not in question, but with strong compression back panel crackles. Someone may not like it - this does not affect the reliability of the device, but the design is such that it creaks. Carelessness in the design of the apparatus, which gives such an effect. AT real life you will not pay attention to this and are unlikely to squeeze the phone like that.

Display

The device has an IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 4.5 inches and a resolution of 540x960 pixels (245 dpi). Multi-touch supports up to 5 touches, brightness adjustment in automatic mode works well. The margin of brightness is excellent, and the model turned out to be pleasant in terms of how the screen works - good colors, excellent viewing angles, no complaints. You may find the default fonts a bit fishy, but you can always change them to larger ones. In the sun, the screen fades, but remains readable.

Battery

The device has a battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh (in versions without LTE - 1700 mAh). According to the manufacturer, it can provide up to 400 hours of standby time, up to 13 hours of talk time in 3G. In practice, the device with quiet use - 20 minutes of calls a day, a couple of dozen SMS, an hour of listening to music and a little mobile internet- Lives for about 2 full days. At the same time, we can say that with very active use, he will be able to live until the evening of the first day, but this is an uncharacteristic use of such a device for the target audience. Such smartphones are bought mostly for calls, SMS, mail and the like. That is, this is not a machine for constantly being online, there is not enough screen diagonal for comfort. The full battery charging time is about 2 hours.

Memory, memory card, performance

The phone has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of built-in memory, of which 5.3 GB is available to the user for programs and their data. Memory cards are supported up to 32 GB.

The chipset in this model is Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8226, 4 cores with a frequency of up to 1.1 GHz. Graphic coprocessor - Adreno 305. In my opinion, the performance is quite excellent, there are no complaints, for lovers of virtual parrots I will give data from benchmarks.

Communication options

The phone works in cellular networks 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 3G (850/900/2100MHz) and LTE (for Idol 2 Mini S). Available Bluetooth version 4.0 for file and voice transfer. Present wireless connection Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The devices, of course, can be used as an access point (Wi-Fi Hotspot) or a modem. USB 2.0 (High-Speed) is used for file transfer and data synchronization. There is a not-too-demanded Wi-Fi Display feature, when you can transmit a signal from your phone to another device via Wi-Fi. Traditionally, there is a Wi-Fi Direct function. There is also a remote Wi-Fi display option.

The device in question also has NFC, it can be used to read tags, there is trial version Triger Pro program, which allows you to set up various events using NFC. The tags themselves are not included, but they can be purchased from any manufacturer, such as Samsung.

Camera

The usual 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, lacking stars from the sky, gives acceptable picture quality in bright light, in the dark the result is noticeably worse. The photographic part is not forte Alcatel phones However, take a look at the examples below. Video recording is supported in 1080p resolution, up to 30 frames per second.

Software features - Android 4.3

In Idol 2 Mini, just like in its predecessor, Alcatel uses its own software shell, which can be perceived by many ambiguously, as people often prefer bare Android and are quite satisfied with its capabilities.

Many functions have been heavily revised, Alcatel has added a number of programs that can be downloaded for free anyway, but the fact that they are preinstalled makes the device more interesting for inexperienced users.

Without unlocking the device, you can see the weather forecast for the current day. Scroll the screen to the right, there will be a calendar and a to-do list for the current day (entering tasks or seeing another day will not work). You can also see the status bar, it is also available when the screen is locked if there is no security key or digital code.

The cardinal difference between Alcatel's approach and other shells is that they decided to abandon a separate menu for all applications. On the main screen are the weather widget, several icons. This is the starting point. Scroll the screens to the left, and there will be widgets that you install. We go to the right, and these will be program icons, also some programs have already been removed into folders, this was done by the manufacturer. You get used to such an organization instantly, it is somewhat logical and definitely has the right to life.

The settings menu has its own settings, for example, the super saving mode for the battery. The very appearance of the menu is also redesigned in white, which is quite nice. In our video, I talk about most of the applications that are in the device, and I don’t want to repeat what has changed compared to previous models.

Further, one could dwell on each program, describe it, but I don’t see much point in this. This is a smartphone, and this software is usually known, or I touched on it in the video. So see the screenshots below.

Another part that I want to describe separately is multimedia capabilities. The device has support for unconverted video, the chipset plays 1080p perfectly, unlike its predecessor. In terms of music formats, there is FLAC support, in addition to regular mp3 and a number of others.

Impression

The sound quality is excellent, your interlocutor hears you well in all conditions. The call is loud and clearly audible. The vibrating alert is rather weak, closer to the average, it can be skipped.

The cost of the LTE version of this device in Beeline is 7,990 rubles, the difference is NFC support, as well as 8 GB of internal memory and support for memory cards. In the version without LTE, the price is lower - 6,990 rubles. In my opinion, a device without LTE will be interesting for the target audience, after all, this technology involves the active use of the network, and with a small screen, by today's standards, it is not so convenient. In other words, you will be able to surf the net, there are no problems with this - but it is unlikely that it will be long hours, rather look at the necessary pages from time to time, chat in in social networks, use Whatsapp. For this, the device is very comfortable, but it is not worth considering that it will allow you to stay online all the time - the screen size plays a role, and this limitation will not be circumvented.

The device turned out to be very pleasant, as well as the first Idol Mini, it good smartphone for calls, balanced, there is nothing superfluous in it. I would like to better camera, but this is a weak point in almost all models of this price segment. Alternatively, you can consider last year's Idol Mini, which, given new price looks very interesting - it can be found for 5,000 rubles. In large retail chains its cost is 5,990 rubles, which makes it not so interesting against the background of the second version.
