Training

First, you need to find out if your computer satisfies system requirements OSX 10.8.

You must have a 64-bit system installed, as Mountain Lion only supports it. If you have a 32-bit OS, don't worry, you can install Mac OS X Leopard. If you have a processor not from Intel, but from AMD, then you will not be able to install the OS from Apple. Download the OS X Mountain Lion installation image. You will also need Hackboot 1 and Hackboot 2 to run. Unfortunately, Mountain Lion cannot boot into Virtualbox by itself, so we need Hackboot 1 to run the installer and Hackboot 2 to run the already installed OS X.

You need to download Multibeast 4 from tonymacx86.com for post-installation system setup. Actually, version 4 is for Lion (10.7), and Multibeast 5 is for Moutain Lion, but version 5 doesn't work correctly, so we download Multibeast 4. To download, you need to register on the site.

Well, OS X 10.8 itself, which is easily loaded on Google's request "Mountain Lion DVD.iso"

Create and configure a virtual machine

First, create a virtual machine (set the OS type to Mac OS X Server) and allocate at least 2 GB (2048 MB) of RAM and 20 GB of hard disk space (dynamically expanding image) to it. Then open the properties of the created machine and go to the "System" section, tab " Motherboard and uncheck "Enable EFI (Special OS only)".

Then open the "Media" section. Under the media " IDE controller" click on "Empty". To the right of the "Drive: Secondary IDE Master" drop-down list, click on the CD icon and open the "HackBoot 1.iso" that you downloaded earlier. Click "OK".

Installation

So, we are ready to install OS X Mountain Lion. We launch virtual computer by clicking on the "Start" button.

We start HackBoot 1 (X against the background of the galaxy), without touching anything, select the Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 installation image.

After a short download of the OS X installer, a window appears where we are told "Welcome" in different languages of the world and prompted to select our language. Select "Select Russian as the main language" and click the "Next" button.

Now go to the "Utilities" menu? "Disk Utility...".

After waiting for the disk utility to start, select the hard disk on the left (virtual, of course), then go to the "Erase" tab, enter the name of the hard drive and click on the "Erase" button. After the disk is erased, close Disk Utility and click Next.

While OS X 10.8 is being installed, you can have a cup of coffee.

Hooray! The system is installed!

Now we quickly select HackBoot 2. Since my system could not reboot itself, did I have to help it by clicking on "Machine"? "Reset".

Great, HackBoot 2 is loaded, use the arrows on the keyboard to select the name of the hard drive on which the installation was performed (in my case, Mac OS X).

After starting the operating system, we will be asked to set up our Mac, yeah. At the first step, select "Russia" and feel free to click continue.

And we accept congratulations! But the installation is not yet complete for us. Let's move on to setting up the system.

Install Mac OS on VirtualBox

Installing Mac OS on VirtualBox Windows 10

Select your OS X and run it. Next, a boot screen will appear with a HackBoot icon.
In the lower corner of the VirtualBox window, click on the CD icon, after which a window is displayed in which click "Select an optical disk image". We click on the image that you just downloaded and which is suitable for your manipulations with Mountain Lion.
Click on the OS X installer. Then go back to the HackBoot boot screen and press F5. After that, the program should reboot and display the installation of OS X on DVD. Next, you will be prompted to select a language and agree to the terms of use. However, there is a possibility that OS X will not be able to find any hard drive required format. Don't worry, we'll fix it. Go to the menu and select "Utilities" -> "Disk Utility".
The bottom line is that Mac OS X should only be installed on a completely blank disk, that is, formatted. Use Disk Utility to have your disk completely clean, the one you created in VirtualBox to install Mountain Lion. So, going into Disk Utility, click on your VirtualBox HDD and format it.
After Disk Utility finishes formatting, the formatted disk should be highlighted on the left. You exit Disk Utility and continue installing OS X.
Then just go through the steps. All this will not take you much time - about 20 minutes. After the installation is completed, a window with white text will appear in front of you. Then you just close your car.

Final stage

You are at the finish line! You now have OS X on your PC, but it still needs to be configured for graphics, screen resolution, and audio to work. To do this, you need to do the following steps.

Fix audio problems with MultiBeast

Let's start VirtualBox. We are looking for your OS X system, right-click on it and click on the “Setup” item, then we go to the “Media” section that you know. Click on the icon, which is located to the right of the window, and click on the HackBoot2 ISO file.

First time running OS X in VirtualBox

In a few minutes, the signature Mountain Lion screensaver will appear in front of you. First of all, open the Safari browser, search for the Tonymacx86.com website and download MultiBeast, as described in the Hardware section.

But in order to download from this or any site, you will need system permission. It can be obtained by opening System settings" -> "Protection and security" and clicking on the lock located in the left corner of the window, then enter your password, in the "Allow downloads of programs from:" section, select "From any source". This will allow you to run MultiBeast on your Mac OS x.

Launch Multibeas. Click on the Continue button and wait for the Multibeast installation to complete. The installation process is short - just a few minutes.

Run OS X without HackBoot

Not everyone wants to go into HackBoot every time to boot OS X, all you need to do is delete one kext file.

You will need to open Finder and select "Go" -> "Go to Folder".

We hammer in the path /System/Library/Extensions there and click on Enter.

We are looking for the AppleGraphicsControl.kext file in this folder and delete it. This will allow your machine to boot without using the HackBoot ISO file.
