How to activate roaming

The service "International roaming" is activated free of charge if there is a sufficient amount of prepayment (according to the subscriber's tariff plan).

A1 tariff plan subscribers – individuals can connect "International roaming":

  • by USSD *141*3*2#
  • V Personal account at my.a1.by (after registration);
  • by calling the Automatic Caller Service 411-3-2-2 (in the zone of reliable reception of the network A1);
  • by access code when calling the reference and information service (if the service is available);
  • upon application at A1 branded centers and official attorneys' offices upon presentation of an identity document.

*velcom subscribers who do not have a permanent residence permit on the territory of Belarus can activate the "International roaming" service only at velcom branded centers or at official attorneys (dealers) of the company upon presentation of an identity document.

What to do when crossing the border

We recommend turning off mobile phone before crossing the border with another state and turn on the phone upon arrival in the territory of another country. After crossing the border, you must select the network of the partner operator.

  • Network selection can be automatic or manual mode. We recommend that you switch your phone to manual network selection mode and, after crossing the border, select the operator that suits you.

It should be remembered!
If you have set automatic selection networks, you will be able to register in the network of partner operator A1 for roaming while in Belarus. This can happen if the signal base station foreign operator will be strong enough to receive and make calls. As a result, all such calls will be calculated at roaming rates.

If the phone has conditional redirect, including on voicemail, then you will pay twice for the redirected call: as for the incoming and outgoing calls at roaming rates.

Subscribers of A1 tariff plans - individuals can top up the balance using:

  • A1banking for Android and iOS (provided that the application is installed);
  • Personal account at my.a1.by (menu item " Personal information”, to receive a login and password, you must register in advance);
  • Internet banking;
  • Internet payment systems by the address ;
  • Services * (SMS cost paid according to roaming tariffs)
  • Express payment cards(available at A1 offices):
- with free USSD *141*4# (if the foreign operator's network supports USSD).
- using the Personal Account (provided that the service is connected);

While in roaming, an SMS confirmation of account replenishment is not guaranteed.

Write-off Money for communication services rendered to a subscriber in roaming, are made by the company as information is received from a foreign operator. In connection with this circumstance, the final amount for payment may be billed some time after the subscriber actually used these services (up to 30 days). Internet in roaming

The service "International Internet roaming" is provided automatically to all subscribers of the company in the presence of connected services:

  • "International roaming" + "Mobile Internet" and/or MMS;
  • SMS roaming + "Mobile Internet" and/or MMS.

If "International roaming" and MMS services are available, subscribers in roaming can receive/send MMS ("International Internet roaming" is not provided).
If you planning to use Internet/MMS while roaming, before traveling outside of Belarus make sure of the following:

  • when accessing Internet resources, as well as receiving / sending MMS, your phone uses access points corresponding to the connected services;
  • applications running in automatic mode(for example, an E-mail client) are switched to the “on demand” mode of operation. To avoid automatic update software we recommend disabling the "Data roaming" option in telephone sets, operating system which allows you to do this;
  • Quit apps and browser gracefully.
  • in the MMS settings, "Automatic reception" or "Reception always" is disabled and "Manual reception" or "Reception on demand" is set. In this case, before downloading the MMS, the telephone will make a request to receive the MMS and only after your confirmation will download it;

If you do not plan use Internet/MMS in roaming, before traveling outside of Belarus:

  • In order to avoid automatic software updates, we recommend disabling the "Data roaming" option in telephone sets, the operating system of which allows it. In the MMS settings, in the options, select "Do not accept", then incoming MMS will not be downloaded by the phone.

To make a call while roaming, dial:

  • + – country code – city code – subscriber number;
  • + – country code – code mobile network- subscriber number

For example, to call Belarus, you need to dial:

  • +375 – area code – subscriber number;
  • +375 - mobile network code - subscriber number.

To make a call from Belarus to A1 number in roaming, dial:

  • from a fixed network telephone number in the national format, for example, 8 029 ххххххх;
  • from numbers of other mobile operators in Belarus number in international or national format, for example, +375 29 ххххххх or 8 029 ххххххх;
  • number in 7-digit format from velcom network (calls to numbers transferred to velcom network from other operators must be made in national or international format).
