Reviews Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones

Advantages: Sound, compact. Flaws: Press on the ears and top of the skull. Too bulky block with buttons (compared to the headphones from the iPhone).

Geinish Yuri

Advantages: The packaging is good. From Germany and Russified. The sound is cool (I'm not a professional, but an amateur) Design and performance are excellent. Flaws: The arc presses on the head from above. There is a soft seal, and she presses and presses. I can't sit in them for a long time. And if you walk down the street, then this effect disappears.

Mikhailov Grigorii

Advantages: 1. Sound quality (after all, this is what headphones are bought for?) 2. Comfort on the head 3. Quality of materials 4. Package contents 5. Price 6. Appearance Flaws: Well, not that it would be completely flaws ... but, nevertheless, 1. The cable causes some concern - it is painfully thin and flimsy in appearance. Fortunately, it is removable, and if desired, you can change. However, experienced comrades advised to leave and not bother. Flaws: I listen from Cambridge Audio Minx M5. FLAC format. Maybe I'll buy ecm for the ears, we'll see. By comfort. Despite the fact that the ear pads are not very large (6 cm in height), my ears fit in them, although they touch the edges. However, this touch does not cause discomfort. At the same time, the ear pads are very soft, pleasant to the touch. However, I would definitely recommend trying it on before buying. The structure is not common. The size of the headband is adjusted not by extending the arc, but by moving the cups up and down along the bracket. Fixation due to rubber clutch. This is very convenient. How long it will last, I can't say yet. Somewhat confusing is the thickness of the wires between the cups and the cable itself from the headphones to the source. Looks, I must say .. so-so. Sound.. ooh... SOUND! Drive, assertiveness, attack. And this is with a harmonious perception of the entire frequency range. And bass and middle and top - everything is there and everything is in place. As for detail. I really hear instruments that in my previous headphones (I won’t talk about the brand, but the price is 1200 rubles (But they suited me completely !!) were simply absent on the same tracks! I’m serious! I stick old and new into the socket alternately ears. Damn! There is a timpani here, but there it simply isn't! That's not it, that's all. Maybe the musician left at that time?!)) Looks like some kind of trick! I sit with my mouth open. Now in new ears, I listen to Ennio Morricone and my thoughts are carried away somewhere far away-oooo... to the Indian prairies, where mustangs gallop and lemmings graze.. It seems to me that I even hear the rustle of grass under their little paws))) After three hours listening, the ears do not sweat, the head does not hurt. By the way, the input cable comes not traditionally to the left, to the right cup. I did not immediately notice this, wondering why in my old headphones the piano is in one direction, and in these - in the other)) Now everything is ok)) PS. Finished listening to Ennio, listening to Brick in the wall. The sound allows you to empathize with schoolchildren from the heart .. Already horror !!!

Romanov Maxim

Advantages: Lightweight, cool sound, good isolation. Flaws: The hair is pinched in the structure. Flaws: Cool ears. I bought it for my wife, she is not overjoyed. There is no pressure on the head, nothing is heard from the outside, the sound is awesome, the top, bottom - everything is very detailed, immerses you perfectly into the music.

Advantages: Sound, control, durability Flaws: Not very comfortable, they squeeze a lot, the rim is too long, which will definitely cling to the collar of the jacket and the hood! Flaws: The bundle is good: a hard case in the form of headphones, two wires, with and without control (although without control, the cable is not clear why it is needed in the kit), and the ears themselves. For iPod / iPhone as a replacement for standard earplugs, they fit perfectly. But don't expect more from them! The sound is average... Although for its class it can even be called good. I can say with confidence that from an average player or good smartphone they sound as good as some Marshall and B&W models, and are half the price! The control button on the cable has the usual functionality: volume, pause / play, when you hold the voice name of the track, and when double-clicked, switch to the next track. It's convenient enough. Also, when calling from an iPhone, they turn into a headset. In general, I was satisfied with the purchase at the time, until I listened to full-size headphones! ...Now the Momentum is safely folded into its case and enjoying the ATH M50X, the difference in sound is clear in favor of the latter. But for an inexperienced or novice listener, as well as for iPod / iPhone owners, they are quite suitable. So I would not say that the purchase was unsuccessful, the headphones fulfill their purpose 100%.

Advantages: beautiful design, variety of colors, sound quality is excellent! Literally crystal clear sound! Includes 2 covers: soft cloth, the most comfortable, and with a rigid frame. A couple of years warranty. Flaws: price) well, with a long listening, they put pressure on the head, I get tired. Not very sound absorption, ordinary plugs are more convenient for the street. Flaws: I took it as a gift to myself in a beautiful dirty pink color. I use it at home, listening to music at the computer) My favorite ears, so cool! The sound is powerful, at full volume without even putting on your ears, when they just lie on the table everything is perfectly audible

Khlebnikova Irina

Advantages: 1 - price 2 - sound 3 - equipment 4 - design Flaws: noise reduction, but who cares, I personally do not need complete isolation, I would not like not to hear the signal of the car driving behind, and so on. Flaws: The purchase is completely satisfied. Bought to replace Bits Pro. In my opinion, the sound level is better + the design is more pleasant for me. They fit perfectly in size, they fit snugly, but they are comfortable, sometimes I don’t even notice that I’m wearing headphones.

The user has hidden his data

Advantages: - Pleasant and balanced sound, albeit with a slight emphasis on low frequencies - really chic design (everything is thought out from the packaging to the ear pads) - they adapt well to the shape of the head and ears Flaws: - trouble with soundproofing both from the outside and inside (although this can hardly be called a disadvantage, since they are positioned as open) - owners of large ears may not be quite comfortable (I'm fine) - the case is made of a suede substitute, which is not quite practical when constantly carried in a bag (very easily soiled) Flaws: In general, the ears sound and look worth their money, and the thoughtful design creates a feeling of a premium product. The remote control works partially with the Fiio X1 (you can turn on/off playback and double-click the button to scroll through the tracks forward, unfortunately you can’t adjust the sound)

Ilya Mikhail

Advantages: Design, purchased at a discount for 5 thousand classic model in leather. of course they look amazing, red stitching on black leather, just super. Flaws: The sound, nasty, doesn’t get worse ... It seems that the resistance is small 18 ohms in total, but even my most powerful Highscreen boost 3 pro from which Bitsy pro 32 ohm yells at full volume at a little more than half the volume does not shake them to the fullest. So I didn't use them. lain for a year and sold for 3 thousand. Compared to the Bits, it's just awful. Didn't expect this from Senheiser...

Bochkarev Igor

Advantages: Juicy, clear surround sound. They look very good though! good decision via detachable cable. Comfortable Flaws: The remote control does not work when working from a PC Flaws: Very pleased with the purchase

With the 3.5 mm Jack becoming less and less common on smartphones, it makes more and more sense to abandon wired headphones. Yes, and many times more convenient when at the workplace, on a walk, in public transport and in all other situations, the wire does not interfere. The choice today is also not limited to a couple of models. At any price point, there are now several decent options. Today we get acquainted with the top headphones from Sennheiser - Momentum M2 Wireless.

The manufacturer has a couple of dozen in stock wireless headphones. It's all inclusive available options. If we limit current models to those that work via Bluetooth and are Over-Ear, then we will be left with only six options, two of which will be Momentum M2 (aka HD1). These are Sennheiser's most expensive wireless headphones of their kind.

The lineup includes a regular model and a Pink Floyd Edition. The latter differ in appearance and cost $ 100 more, but technically these are exactly the same headphones as standard version. I doubt that this will be a popular modification, but fans of this group who can afford to spend an extra hundred dollars will definitely find these headphones. There is also an exclusively wired version of these headphones and two more On-Ear options (also wired and wireless).

Equipment and first impressions

When buying rather expensive headphones, and a pair of these Sennheisers just cost about $399, I would like to get a nice set of related accessories. Together with Momentum M2 there is a charging cable, a cable for wired audio connection (2.5-to-3.5 mm), an adapter for aircraft connectors and a nice velvet case, which, although not hard, will not interfere with transportation. There is also a fabric “pouch” inside, which can be useful on trips when space in a bag / backpack is very limited. But it has almost no protective function (except that it will save you from minor scratches). The rest of the time it is practically useless.

The very moment of unpacking indicates that the owner got a premium product. Everything is neatly folded and there is a place for everything. The leather elements are really made of leather and have a corresponding smell. Getting started does not require additional software or technical training, and an experienced user will definitely not need to refer to the instructions.

Design and Usability

Sennheiser Momentum M2 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones closed type. Since this is far from a cheap device, the case materials are well chosen accordingly. The headband is made of elastic metal and easily retains its shape after deformation. Headphones are plastic with a matte outer part and a small glossy insert between the case and the ear cushion. The headband and cushions are covered in leather. I spent a lot of time with the headphones (about three weeks), but the characteristic smell remained. For those who fundamentally do not use leather products, there is no other option.

The buyer is given a choice of two design options for the base model - black and brown. In the second case, the outer part of the case will be ivory, and the leather will be stitched with a bronze thread. For my taste, black headphones look better. Regardless of the design option chosen, the headband base will not change color.

They sit perfectly. These are probably the first headphones in which my ears did not get tired at all, regardless of the duration of use. Unless they get a little warm. Of course, this is subjective. The ear cups can rotate slightly to better adjust for fit, and the headband can be tilted slightly back and forth. I think most users will easily find a comfortable position.

For transportation, the headphones are conveniently folded and without a case they will not take up much space. You don’t need to worry much about the safety of the structure, but you shouldn’t overdo it either. The only place where something unpleasant can obviously happen is the headphone mount, because it is plastic. Although at first glance it is very confident and it seems that it is also durable. Somehow I don’t want to scold the design and assembly.

Overall appearance is very good. Most of the Sennheiser models I've seen look overly futuristic in my opinion, but the Momentum M2 is more classic. This effect is created due to the skin and a simple headphone cover.

Control and noise reduction system

Let's start with the fact that there are three ways to connect headphones: wired via 3.5 mm Jack, wired via USB, and completely wirelessly using Bluetooth (4.0, there is support for aptX). Wireless connection can be quickly installed via NFC in the left earpiece, or in the usual way through the settings. There are no special restrictions in work, regardless of the gadget or platform. The main thing is that in any case, the connection is simple and intuitive. There is no additional software for these headphones, but Sennheiser has an application that supports working with headphones. CapTune is a music player that, subjectively, is a little better at reproducing the sound from the iPhone, but in essence it is just a player with an equalizer, nothing more.

What I especially liked was the stability of the work. In all conditions in which I listened to music, the signal was stable and did not interrupt. You can move around quite freely in a small apartment, but at distant points the signal may not be enough. In any case, if you leave the room, say, behind the wall to the kitchen, there will be no failures along the way. But it's clear that we are talking about a small radius, you won't be able to freely walk around large premises (office, house, etc.) due to the limited capabilities of Bluetooth.

At the same time, the headphones can cope with two devices at the same time, but it is worth considering that there may be conflicts. I tried to connect headphones to my smartphone and laptop. Music from a laptop could be interrupted by notifications on a smartphone, which, of course, stops playback and can once again distract the user from the business that the user is busy with. It doesn't really fit into my personal scenarios, but there are probably users who are so comfortable with it. But the delay is minimal and nothing will prevent you from watching movies and videos, the sound will not lag behind the picture.

Each headphone has microphones for the system active noise cancellation(there are four in total), one microphone on the left earpiece is still used for making calls. He does not have the best voice transmission and in a noisy place it is worth answering from a smartphone, but in the workplace it will be enough. The noise cancellation system itself still sends some ambient sounds to the headphones. They will be heard only between compositions, when one track is almost over, and the second has not yet begun. And during playback of even quiet acoustic tracks, external noise does not particularly interfere.

Headphones are controlled very simply. On the back of the right earcup there is a power button and a small trigger button that controls the volume, pauses and skips tracks (like on a standard iPhone headphone remote), and calls voice assistant. I did not find any additional modes, control of the noise reduction system and other functions.

Sound Momentum M2 Wireless

As I mentioned in the last section, there are three ways to connect headphones. different ways. I did not notice a fundamental difference in sound between them. Headphones are designed for use with ordinary laptops, smartphones and players, so it is absolutely not necessary to buy an expensive audio interface for them, even if you plan to use not only a Bluetooth connection. The resistance is calculated for the average simple devices(28 ohms).

The Momentum M2 sound good, but at first I didn't really like the sound. Either it took a little getting used to them, or they still needed to “warm up” a bit, but the sound began to like it only a couple of days after the start of the test. To everything, you should immediately pay attention that, unlike many popular brands (for example, Beats by Dr. Dre), Sennheiser will sound “smoother” and not overwhelm everything with bass. Therefore, those who are popularly called bass heads should immediately look for something else (V-Modo, Beats, etc.).

Unfortunately, these headphones did not seem “omnivorous” to me. So, listening to the songs of such bands as Royal Blood, Muse and The Pretty Reckless was not very pleasant. For rock, I would like a little less mids and more bass, then the sound would be "deeper". After listening to hip-hop and trip-hop, I would describe the sound of these genres as just good. It seems that everything is in place, nothing interferes and everything is enough, but somehow there is no excess enthusiasm. The same can be said about electronic genres. And from expensive headphones you somehow involuntarily expect something more.

Where the headphones have opened up is in instrumental music (preferably with vocals) and in separate compositions, where not many different instruments sound at the same time. Benjamin Clementine, Aurora, Hooverphonic live recordings with a symphony orchestra - the sound is excellent here. Soundtracks by Hans Zimmer can be listened to for hours. It is worth noting that in different genres there are tracks that sound very good and detailed in these headphones, but these are more often exceptions to the rule (for example, Kimyan Law).

Yes, I write this in all the reviews of the headphones, and this time there will be no exception: before buying, I strongly recommend listening to them in the store, thoroughly flipping through the playlist with your favorite songs. And be sure to "hook" all the genres that are most often played. Good sound is a very subjective concept, and these headphones are unlikely to suit every potential buyer.

Power, like many wireless headphones that came to me, is not as much as wired ones. However, the existing stock will be sufficient. I most often listened to music in the region of one or two "steps" to the upper limit. I think this will be quite enough for most situations in which these headphones can get. Another thing is that I would like a little more gaps, because once you press the “trigger” of the volume control, you can quite noticeably feel the change in power, but I would like a little smoother. What surprised me more was the lack of a noticeable difference in sound when different sources. The sound from the iPhone was practically no different from the sound from the MacBook and Android smartphone, which just support aptX (unlike the iPhone).

autonomy

As the manufacturer assures, the built-in battery with a capacity of 600 mAh should be enough for 22 hours of music playback. It so happened that I spent three weeks with headphones. During this time, I charged them twice, and they worked every day for 2-4 hours at least. The result is very good.

It took about two and a half hours to fully charge from the power supply for the smartphone. What is separately very convenient is the ability to simply connect with a wire and this is enough for the headphones to continue playing music if the battery is low. Is that the noise reduction system will not work.

Site score

Pros: Good materials and nice design, stable connection with minimal latency, aptX support, active noise reduction system, a variety of connection methods, sound, autonomy

Minuses: Not all genres of music play equally well, price

Conclusion: With the Momentum M2 Wireless, Sennheiser managed to create not only comfortable, but also pretty on-ear headphones. They are comfortable, easy to use, and with the right genres of music, they sound great. Alas, this does not apply to all the songs that buyers of such headphones can listen to. And having given a sufficiently large amount of money for such an accessory, I would like to get complete freedom in choosing music. But do not forget that sound is a subjective concept, and here you should rely solely on your own experience.

The editors express their gratitude to the Sennheiser Store online store for providing the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Wireless M2 AEBT headphones for review

The topic of high-quality portable audio is now more relevant than ever. A huge fleet of mobile devices has many owners who are not indifferent to the musical theme, who choose their headphones very carefully and are ready to pay good price for advanced solutions - especially wireless ones. Both newfangled brands with a young history and classic brands, whose recognition has been won for many decades, are fighting for their attention.

The German company Sennheiser is one such pillar of home and professional audio. They have many iconic models to their credit, including the world's first open acoustic design headphones. Naturally, their line simply could not do without topical wireless models. Meet the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear Wireless, Bluetooth on-ear headphones for the era of mobile entertainment!

Design

First of all, let's remember that headphones are not only a means of listening to music, but also a stylish accessory. Naturally, everyone wants them to be a kind of decoration, and for this you need a bright, unique design that would become a weapon in the fight for buyers.

Appearance Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear Wireless stands out from the rest of the brand's models. Their well-thought-out and practical design with an emphasis on minimalism will be equally loved by amateurs and pros alike. In addition, the design successfully combines elements of retro and modern style, which makes this model recognizable. Not forgotten are the embellishments in the form of company logos and the Momentum line on the headband and cup fasteners.

In the second version of Momentum held big job in terms of overall comfort. Now they have a convenient folding design, so the headphones take up less space when stored in the carrying case supplied in the kit. Some users of the first generation Momentum complained that the cups were harsh and put too much pressure on their ears during prolonged listening. This nuance is taken into account: the Momentum 2.0 On-Ear cups fit more gently to the ears, and the ear cushions are filled with softer and more pliable two-layer foam material. Now no fatigue is felt even after several hours of continuous listening!

As usual, Sennheiser didn't skimp on materials. Of course, Momentum 2.0 On-Ear feels expensive and high-end headphones: the ear pads and headband are trimmed with Alcantara, a very hardy synthetic material that resembles natural suede to the touch. In addition, it provides the ears with good ventilation and does not absorb moisture. The headband made of brushed stainless steel provides the necessary flexibility and strength, and you don’t have to worry about the integrity of the headphones: everything is assembled and adjusted to the conscience.

There are two color options to choose from: a black version will appeal to lovers of the classics, and there is also an option with ivory cups in combination with a coffee-colored headband and ear cushions. Such a noble combination will suit real stylists!

Control and characteristics

The controls, as well as the on/off button, are located on the right cup of the headphones. They are convenient to use blindly, without being distracted from listening. Like many Bluetooth devices, the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear has built-in voice prompts with a pleasant female voice. He tells you when the headphones are ready for use and warns that the battery is low, and it's time to put the device on recharging.

By the way, the time battery life at moderate volume, it reaches 22 hours - an impressive result, one charge is always enough for a whole day of active listening. The range in wireless mode reaches 10 meters, and the stability of the connection is not satisfactory. In a noisy air, short-term interference is possible, but in practice this happens extremely rarely.

In addition to using the Bluetooth 4.0 wireless protocol for connectivity, the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear headphones have built-in Active Noise Canceling for maximum intelligibility in traffic, flights and other noisy environments. To pair with sound sources, it is convenient to use the built-in NFC tag: bring the headset to the corresponding smartphone, and voila, the devices have found a common language and established a Bluetooth connection without any hassle and searching.

If you need to connect your headphones to a non-Bluetooth device, a 1.4m cable with a low-profile 3-pin mini-jack (3.5mm) optimized for mobile devices is included. But it can be replaced with any other cable you like.

Support for the aptX codec provides improved sound quality when wireless transmission from devices equipped with this feature. For a long time Bluetooth was the bottleneck for wireless headphones, giving a reduced sound spectrum - but now it's a thing of the past! Curiously, when wired, the headphones sound even a little better and more dynamic - real purists should take note of this.

As for the general technical characteristics, the headphones have a closed acoustic design for better sound insulation(including active). The declared sensitivity of 113 dB allows you to accurately convey the dynamics of a piece of music even at moderate volumes. The frequency range, according to the manufacturer, is 16-22000 Hz: the entire useful audible range is worked out with a margin, so not a single detail will escape your attention. Finally, the low impedance of 18 ohms allows them to be used with a wide range of audio sources, including low-power portable devices, without loss in sound quality and assertiveness.

It is worth mentioning separately that the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear is equipped with a built-in microphone, so, strictly speaking, these headphones belong to the class of headsets for mobile devices. When connected to a smartphone, you can answer calls without taking the device out of your pocket, which is very convenient. Your voice is heard in headphones, so it's comfortable to talk in any conditions, and it does not intuitively pull you to raise your voice to "shout" the surroundings.

Sound

The sound quality of the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear is consistently top notch, making it one of the smartest wireless headphones you can find. Firstly, they retain excellent sound detail when connected via Bluetooth. There are no extraneous artifacts or extra coloration, and the aptX connection sounds even better: here, even the most ardent supporters of a wired connection will have nothing to complain about. However, you can always switch to wires: as already mentioned, the headphones work quietly through a standard 3.5 mm plug, including the headset mode with a microphone.

In the tonal balance, the low frequencies are especially emphasized. This is not the first time Sennheiser has emphasized bass, but without crime: just enough to give the music extra density without clogging the rest of the spectrum. This hardly affects the transparency of the mid and high frequencies! Therefore, listen to music on the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear both at home and on the street: required pressure achieved already at a moderate volume and does not dissipate if you find yourself in a noisy environment. This is where Active Noise Cancellation comes in.

It's no secret that over-ear headphones themselves have an average level of noise isolation. Closed cups and delicate Alcantara ear cushions block out only some of the extraneous sounds, but do not greatly isolate low-frequency noises, such as the rumble of traffic. To avoid blurring, Sennheiser built active noise cancellation into the Momentum 2.0 On-Ear. She analyzes extraneous sounds using 4 microphones, and adds this signal in inverted form (i.e., the sound wave "inside out") to the sounding music. As a result, 90% of extraneous noise is successfully suppressed, especially those very low-frequency components! At the same time, you do not find yourself in complete isolation and do not “fall out of reality”, so walking with such headphones on the street or in the subway is still safe.

Conclusion

The Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear Wireless is an evolution of the popular line of headphones that is heading in the right direction. The biggest step has been taken, perhaps, in the direction of ergonomics and comfort: the new ear cushions do not tire at all during long listening, and the headphones have received a reliable folding design for easy carrying.

If we talk about them sound characteristics, then everything is already on top: excellent detail and dynamics both with a Bluetooth connection and via a wire. Ultimately, the Momentum 2.0 On-Ear isn't exactly surgically accurate, but it's precisely honed to make listening to music bright and comfortable, no matter where you are. moderate emphasis on low frequencies turns out to be appropriate, because it does not harm the rest of the spectrum. This combination will satisfy the tastes of most listeners. A separate bonus is the active noise reduction system, which helps to overcome noise that is not extinguished by overhead ear pads.

In the bottom line, we have stylish and quality headphones which are perfect for portable devices, and will also be able to work as a headset for a smartphone. Great choice for modern people who cares to complete their street image and wear their favorite wireless headphones for most of the day!

What's in the box?

When we pick up a package of Momentum Wireless headphones, we feel that we are dealing with a top-class product. The packaging is made of hard cardboard, it describes all the most important features devices. The inside is filled with soft sponge, it will not be difficult for you to damage the headphones during transportation.

Sennheiser Momentum Wireless themselves are in an additional, dense, zippered case with the manufacturer's logo, in a simple cloth bag. The case is pleasant to the touch and is decorated with a characteristically even line of threads. The inside of the case is lined with a soft and pleasant material, in addition, there is a mesh pocket in which the wires are placed.

Includes 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable, airplane adapter and USB cable for charging. All wires are made of high quality materials and marked with the manufacturer's logo. In addition to the headphones in the box, we also find the necessary documentation.

Design and appearance

The design of the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones also tells us that this is a product. High Quality. Although appearance definitely won't fit into your everyday outfit. This headset is designed for business people who love to enjoy music at home or while traveling.

Part of the headband is trimmed with soft and pleasant to the touch dark brown Alcantara. In addition, it is also decorated with a smooth line of threads. The speaker cabinets are made of plastic, which is similar in color to ivory (there are also black version). The folding parts of the anti-roll bar are made of brushed steel, and the black connecting wire remains visible. Each earbud slides across a cross bar to adjust and customize for you.

At the bottom of the right earpiece there is a small diode, a start button, a multifunctional volume key, a connector for 3.5 and for Micro-USB. It is a pity that the manufacturer did not dare to use a newer one here. USB type C.

Sennheiser Wireless Headphones Momentum On-Ear crafted with care and attention to detail. The structure, even when folded, is rigid. It will be easy for you to adjust the headset to fit. Unfortunately, the headphones don't stay on your head well - when you bend over to tie your shoelaces, for example, so change their position and adjust everything for you.

Long-term use of the Momentum Wireless was also not very comfortable, with my ears hurting after about a dozen minutes, not due to bad sound quality or wrong music. It turned out to be more convenient to hang the device around your neck and listen to music at a higher volume.

Sound quality

The quality of the music played is by far the best forte tested audio equipment. The bass is strong and clear, but it doesn't drown out the remaining sounds. High tones also sound great. Vocals are crisp and every instrument in any song sounds the way it's supposed to - none of them are like the others, but all are heard well.

Location individual sounds in space is also commendable. Songs from every genre of music that I listened to on the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Wireless during my tests sounded exactly as I expected. Pop, rock, techno, reggae, rap, electronic, dance or classical music sound naturally retain their unique character. I'm not a music lover, but in my opinion, the tested gadget is really good.

In addition, this Sennheiser offer works well when watching movies as well. The headset can also be used without problems in computer games. Although it is not designed for this, it allows you to better immerse yourself in the game world.

Communication and connection

Wireless On-Ear Wireless can be connected to the device from which we want to play music in several ways. Most people will probably get maximum benefit from Bluetooth 4.0. When pairing, NFC can also be useful, the module of which is installed here.

The Bluetooth range is very good in the model, the connection is stable and the recording is not interrupted. I also didn't notice any sound-to-picture delay, such as when watching movies.

Cable enthusiasts can use the supplied bundled cable, one of which connects to the gadget, and the other to any device with a 3.5 mm jack.

The third, completely non-standard option can be sound transmission via a USB port. This allows you to charge your headphones and play audio from your laptop at the same time.

Functions at work

On the lower right side of the Momentum Wireless are two buttons - power and volume. If you want to connect your headphones to your phone or other device using Bluetooth, you need to hold down the power button for a longer time.

You will hear voice assistant, which will inform you in English about the activation of the corresponding function. The same voice will also issue other instructions, such as “Turn off”, “On”, “Connect” or “Maximum volume”. It should be remembered that this is not a quiet, sensual whisper, but a loud, violent message in the style of Google translator.

The button with which we can change the volume has several interesting and useful functions. Moving backward increases the volume, moving forward decreases it. On some devices you simply adjust the system audio, on others it's just the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless itself.

Pressing the button once will stop the song, twice - the transition to the next one will be performed, three times - return to the previous melody. A double press and hold allows you to quickly rewind the song, and the same triple - shakes it back. However, the possibilities of these functions are in some cases limited by the application. music player. The same button allows you to receive, disable, reject, and switch between phone calls.

Momentum On-Ear is also equipped with NoiseGard active noise reduction system based on four microphones. It works very well, almost no external sounds do not interfere with the music to play as it should. Only screams, the sounds of an ambulance or a doorbell will reach our ears.

Autonomy Sennheiser Momentum Wireless

The Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Wireless are equipped with a built-in 600 mAh polymer lithium-ion battery. The manufacturer claims that it allows you to listen to music wirelessly up to 22 hours.

AT everyday use this battery works even better. Listening to music an average of 2-3 hours a day, I had to reach for charger only after 12 days. This is indeed a very good result, a feature that greatly improves your mobility. It takes about 2.5 hours to replenish the headset with energy.

Sennheiser definitely needs to work on how comfortable these designs are to be worn on the ears - slipping off the head definitely makes listening difficult.

The Momentum over-the-ear headphones proved so popular that Sennheiser decided to release an on-ear version of the model. Momentum On-Ear is the same combination of first-class sound and premium materials, but in a more compact body available in four stylish color options to choose from!

Headphones got their name from the ambiguous Latin momentum - this is movement, dynamics, change, and influence, and a moment, and even a revolution. This name, like no other, suits this model and reveals its essence from different angles. Constructed from the finest materials and featuring the clear and dynamic sound of the older model, the Momentum On-Ear is Sennheiser's small revolution in the portable headphone class. Extraordinarily rich and detailed stereo sound is guaranteed by high-performance neodymium magnets and Momentum On-Ear drivers. The headphones are designed and built with over half a century of Sennheiser experience and innovation, especially in the high-end headphone segment such as the Sennheiser HD 800, arguably the best headphone in the world today. At the same time, the nominal impedance of the Momentum On-Ear model has been reduced specifically to improve the performance of headphones in conjunction with mobile devices. The headband and ear pads are finished with soft and breathable Alcantara, a synthetic suede leather used for upholstery, car interiors, and jewelery that guarantees the highest level of comfort. The size of the headband is adjusted using stainless steel sliders, giving the structure strength and a stylish, modern look. The headphone cable is removable, there are even two of them in the package - a simple one and a headset one (with a microphone and a remote control), a hard case for transporting the headphones is also supplied with Momentum On -Ear. As mentioned above, the Momentum On -Ear model has four color options: blue, pink, green or ivory.
