Why is the iPhone like this? Why is the iPhone so expensive? Excellent support at the Apple Store

Surprisingly, the list of the most expensive iPhones over the past 10 years has included a device created specifically for the “golden” fans of the Pokémon Go game - consider others for yourself.

#ten. Special Pink Valentine's Edition iPhone 5: $2,350

A well-known global fashion brand called Amosu Couture is responsible for the creation of this smartphone.

The device, which was released in 2013 shortly before Valentine's Day, does not use precious metals. And here is the color rose gold bribed.

On the back of the smartphone, the name of the future owner of the smartphone was engraved.

#9. iPhone 6s Pokémon Go Edition: $2,700

Today, almost nothing is heard about the Pokémon Go game today. Despite the fact that the game shot brightly last year, it was quickly forgotten about.

However, the owners of this device, which is being modded by Caviar, will forever remember the considerable amount spent on interest in finding Pokémon.

#eight. Calypso Diamond iPhone 6s: $3,600

The back of this gold and platinum iPhone 6s mod was studded with over a thousand small diamonds.

But this expensive device was to the taste of fans of luxury, not even for this reason.

The Givori company, which worked on an extraordinary project, managed to fit all the elements of the redesigned hull as accurately as possible, which almost no one had been able to do before.

#7. iPhone 5s Vladimir Putin Edition: $4,340

This custom device was created by the Italian brand Caviar in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On the back of the smartphone is a portrait of Vladimir Vladimirovich, which replaced the Apple logo, as well as the coat of arms of the Russian Federation.

18 carat yellow gold was chosen as the material for the back panel.

#6. iPhone 4 Dinosaur Edition: $63,000

But this is the first mobile device that was made from the remains of a 65-million-year-old dinosaur and an equally young meteorite.

The case contained elements from the bones of a tyrannosaurus rex, as well as gold, diamonds and extraterrestrial rock.

Only ten such devices were produced. And, given the rarity of materials in the case, its cost does not even look unnecessarily high.

#5. iPhone 3g Princess Plus: $176,400

The Australian designer and jeweler Peter Aloisson introduced this phone to the US back in 2008. This is one of the first really expensive custom iPhones.

The surface of the device was covered with 318 diamonds, which found their place in the 18 carat gold rim.

#four. Million Dollar Gold and Diamond iPhone 4s: $1,000,000

This isn't the first custom iPhone to hit seven figures in US dollars. But definitely one of the most interesting externally.

A luxury London boutique called The Alchemist is responsible for its creation.

The device was made of 24-carat gold and finished with thousands of diamonds - only on the side face there was a place for 1600 stones of the highest class.

#3. Deluxe customized Diamond studded iPhone 7: $1,300,000

The most modern device in the selection, which can still be bought today from Brikk, which is located in Los Angeles.

The device can be made with several different patterns on the back panel and from different materials including gold and platinum.

Of course, in this case, it was not without diamonds, which trimmed the stylized logo of the manufacturer.

#2. iPhone 3G Kings Button: $2,517,345

In 2009, Australian jeweler Peter Aloisson released an extraordinary iPhone 3G that was studded from top to bottom with precious metals and stones.

But such a huge price of the device became possible due to the use of a rare 6.6-carat diamond for the Home button.

#one. Solid gold iPhone 5 with deep cut black diamond: $15,000,000

The most expensive custom mobile device is considered the iPhone 5, which was redesigned by Stuart Hughes.

The Apple logo and side faces of the device were studded with diamonds, back panel made of gold of the highest standard.

But the highlight of the device was an incredibly rare 26-carat black diamond, which took the place of the Home button - only a few were destined to admire it.

Despite all the attempts of the companies that are engaged in reworking the iPhone, the purchase of such smartphones still does not seem conscious to us, because gold and diamonds on the case will not increase the moral life of the device even by a year.

Nevertheless, there is obviously a demand for them, because even such cosmic amounts for us will seem simply ridiculous to many - especially $ 15 million for an iPhone 5 with a diamond in the Home button.

It is primarily about the brand. Where can you meet a successful person without a smartphone with a “bitten apple” in his pocket now? The magic of the brand is so great that sometimes buyers simply do not pay attention to the presence of more productive and functional gadgets with a lower price in neighboring windows.

Does the iPhone really have no technical advantages over competitors?

Comparing the iPhone with devices on other operating systems is incorrect - Apple has never played on general rules. Store consultants often use a comparison tool: instead of an iPhone, they show another gadget with the same price, claiming that it has 8 cores, while an Apple smartphone has only two. In fact, an iPhone with a dual-core A8 chip is able to "give odds" to almost any Android.

For example, according to the results of the Phone Buff vlogger test, the iPhone 6 successfully competed in terms of performance with the 8-core M8 and S6. The latter completely lost to the dual-core iPhone.

Hence the moral: the dry technical characteristics of Apple technology cannot serve as a selection criterion.

They say there are fewer free apps on Apple than on Android. Doesn't that scare buyers?

AT Google Play(android store) more free apps than in the AppStore. In addition, in 2015, Google Play overtook the AppStore in terms of the total number of mobile applications- there are about 100 thousand more in the Android store.

However, according to a study by the analytical company App Annie, professional developers prefer to deal with Apple, and it is obvious why - an application hosted in the AppStore brings on average four times more profit than an analog present in Google Play. That is, the number of applications does not indicate their quality - Apple users do not risk downloading in the store "garbage" developed by amateurs.

But Android is easier, isn't it?

Dealing with the Android OS is definitely easier than with iOS, but this can hardly be attributed to the advantages of the “green robot”. Yes, in order to transfer music to the phone, an Apple user will have to master iTunes. Yes, the owner of the iPhone will not be able to transmit a funny photo via Bluetooth. But all these restrictions are only security measures: the closed operating room iOS systems- the guarantee of its protection from viruses of various kinds.

But what about the design?

Ergonomic and stylish design is another important advantage of the iPhone. Nothing has been done "at random" here. The 4S model serves as a kind of standard, the screen size of which was developed so that the average user could reach any corner of the display with his thumb. So Apple time somewhat lost its focus on consumers (what to hide), but managed to maintain a reputation as a company that is extremely caring about its customers.

From the point of view of materials, there are also a minimum of questions for Apple: for example, the back iPhone panel 4S is made of chemically strengthened glass. It is both practical and insanely beautiful.

Is the iPhone really worth a lot of money?

The fact that the cost of the iPhone is much higher than other gadgets is just a myth. The price of the iPhone is approximately equal to the price of flagship devices from other companies. For comparison: in 2016, an iPhone 7 with 32 GB costs about 55 thousand rubles, and a Samsung S7 with the same amount of memory costs almost 60 thousand rubles.

prejudice about high cost The iPhone comes from what Apple doesn't make budget models smartphones. Their role is played by "obsolete" gadgets - previous modifications, shamelessly losing value immediately after the release of the next novelty.

Where do buyers get the money to buy an iPhone?

A significant part of iPhones in Russia is bought on credit. Sellers offer extremely tempting conditions - for example, in networks MTS, Megaphone and almost always up to date installments, that is, a loan without overpayment for 6, 12 or 24 months. Even if banks do not approve of an interest-free loan, the buyer, as a rule, agrees to alternative conditions and does not bother to calculate the overpayment at all. The desire to have the coveted "apple" is too great - the price has a very mediocre effect on the popularity of the brand.

Users who do not want to shackle themselves with credit ties do not have to chase specifically for latest models. For example, the iPhone 5S in MTS stores is sold at a price below 20 thousand rubles - this amount is quite affordable to pay it in cash.

Abroad, too, "apple fever"?

2015 was the year Apple conquered the US market. The most revealing was June, during which Apple sold more than 44% of the total number of smartphones in America (for comparison: Samsung - only 28%). And this is despite the fact that in the US, iPhones are sold only with a two-year contract for cellular communications.

In another large market - China - everything is far from being so simple. iPhones account for only 9% of total sales (as of June 2016) - in addition, this share is falling year by year. It should be noted that Chinese market quite specific and very diverse. The leaders on it are by no means familiar to Russians iPhone and Samsung, but exotic (23%) and (17.4%).

So is the iPhone worth buying, or is it just a fad?

The iPhone is worth the money. The purchase of a smartphone is the very situation when "the miser pays twice." If you're choosing between an iPhone and a cheaper Android device, you don't have to chase after the moment. Apple device serves faithfully for many years, while, according to reviews, the Android operating system “clogs” after 1.5-2 years to such an extent that using the gadget turns into torment. Therefore, at the price of the iPhone, it is reasonable to compare not with one, but with several devices on Android or Windows.

Most recently, we published an article where we discussed ten reasons that may incline your choice in favor of the iPhone XS / XS Max, now it's time to consider the other side of the coin and discuss what can push you away from these devices.

Since the models are very close, we will discuss them together so as not to be repeated in a separate article. One of the points may be additional, as it is specific to the iPhone XS, it does not apply to the older model. Some points are typical for Apple and the iOS platform as a whole, these are the minuses that wander from device to device from year to year. Many of these have been mentioned in similar reasons for the iPhone XR.

Therefore, with your permission, let's start discussing the reasons that may push you away from these devices.

Reason #1. The most expensive smartphones on the planet - iPhone XS/XS Max

Apple can't reach the level iPhone sales 2015, in unit terms, the company is still selling fewer smartphones, and this is taking into account the growth of this category, albeit quite moderately. Therefore, Apple adopted a different strategy - to increase the cost of the iPhone, to check how much loyal consumers are willing to pay for their flagship. The first reconnaissance in combat was last year with the iPhone X, which became the most expensive flagship for history. It's no joke to say that in Russia the iPhone X 256 GB cost 92 thousand rubles ($ 1,500), which was a shock value. Even in the first months, it was impossible to sell this device for an amount higher than 60 thousand rubles, there were simply no buyers for it (I tried to sell it in stages, reducing the cost, no one was willing to sell less than 60 thousand rubles, the hand did not rise). In many ways, this characterizes the fact that people who can afford a smartphone costing more than 60,000 rubles (even at the old rate) will not buy a used device.

Many iPhone buyers cannot afford such an expensive smartphone, it is beyond their financial capabilities. But they are drawn to him, because they think that they will instantly become better, stronger, receive an additional status in society. For such people, the residual value of the smartphone is extremely important, they are shaking over every scratch, as they still have to sell their device in a year or two. This is the psychology of poor people who call themselves rational but are not. Therefore, the cost of a smartphone in the secondary market becomes extremely important. A side effect of rising prices for the new generation of iPhones is that in a year it will be difficult to sell iPhone XS / XS Max with 256 and 512 GB memory on the used market, these models will be expensive and will not be in demand. And the most popular amount of memory will be sold at a discount of 40-50%. The reason is that the iPhone has gone sky-high in price and the secondary market is not ready to purchase old models at prices comparable to new devices from other companies.

For those who have forgotten the prices for Russian iPhone deliveries, it's time to remind them.

It's expensive and very expensive. This, in fact, is the main argument against, since the iPhone does not have any unique technologies that would allow us to say that they are better than competitors, both in terms of individual characteristics and in general in their totality. For those who are not used to counting money, buying such a device is normal, for others it is another reason to look back and, perhaps, say: “Thank you, Apple, goodbye, Apple.” Such a price for smartphones looks unrealistic, and regardless of the currency and country - be it the USA, Germany, Singapore, the prices for the new generation of Apple's flagships are out of touch with reality.

Reason number 2. Flagships without flagship antennas - quarrel with Qualcomm, friendship with Intel

There has always been an eternal dispute on the market, who is better. The pairs of competing companies were chosen arbitrarily, for example, everyone knows that Qualcomm's chipset is better than MediaTek's (this is not always the case in practice, but the stereotypes are). Modems from Qualcomm are noticeably better than those from Intel. But Apple last year entered into a confrontation with Qualcomm, refused to cooperate and is now suing around the world. And if earlier Qualcomm engineers were responsible for the radio part in the iPhone, who worked on the integration of both antennas and their modem, now Intel is responsible for this (the engineers inside Apple are such fabulous characters that they oversee what other partners are doing from the outside ).

The change of supplier immediately affected what they can do new iPhones. Formally and on paper, everything is fine, support for gigabit LTE has appeared, modems can aggregate frequencies, communication by frequency is exactly the same as it was. In practice, early buyers have already encountered a whole host of problems, both large and small.

The XS may lose connection if you have a large hand (the design of the antennas is such that you simply close them with your hand when working! this is a very funny mistake). The quality of the antennas is such that Apple had to use the maximum gain, and there is no margin. In fact, this suggests that in conditions of an ideal signal you will not have problems, but in places with unstable communications they are guaranteed to occur. The same iPhone X is much better in this aspect, as it is devoid of these shortcomings.

For those who want to study in detail how antennas work and what is the problem with them on XS / XS Max, I advise you to read the two links below (in English):

About how gigabit LTE works in practice is written in one of the comments, look at the screenshot.

In a short translation, it turns out that on a gigabit LTE channel, the speed of the iPhone XS was 72 Mbps, while the old iPhone 6s showed 120 Mbps. The maximum speed achieved on the XS is 220 Mbps, which is not much compared to 190 Mbps on the 6s.

I don’t think that another antenna gate is waiting for us, but a new generation iPhone worse in terms of connection quality, reception than previous iPhones or competing solutions from other companies, in which there is no need and reason to use solutions from Intel. Because of their position at Apple, they have lost the best supplier and are forced to use solutions that are not so good. It also means that those who want to get the maximum Internet speeds in practice, most likely, will not receive them even in comparison with the previous generation of iPhone. Or old devices. And this is not a software problem, this is an antenna design problem. The iPhone XR is exactly the same story.

Reason number 3. Fragile tempered glass iPhone

Apple's greed is legendary, and the company has come up with plenty of ways to get its fans to shell out over the years. The loudest scandal was with the slowdown of older models, which allegedly occurred solely due to battery wear. But all the company's actions indicated that it was a deliberate move to stimulate sales of new models.

Around the same time, the company made another strange decision - to remove additional lamination from the glass structure. That is, upon impact, the glass begins to crumble, crumble, and it becomes impossible to use the phone.

This is done so that broken devices can be repaired or people buy new iPhones. Customer loyalty is quite measurable, and their inaccuracy should lead to additional costs. All flagship manufacturers, like Apple before, use lamination to avoid cracking the case, to enable the device to be used before service, or even just to use it. Apple decided that if the phone was dropped, it was almost guaranteed to break. It's sad, but it's the company's policy to have people replace their dead devices with new ones. It is impossible to call it care about the user. On the other hand, the Apple user is used to, he has to pay for everything, and repeatedly.

Reason number 4. Opting out of the fingerprint sensor

In the new generation of iPhone, not a single device has a fingerprint sensor, unlocking occurs in the face. This is not so convenient, the faces of others are read that look into your device, and, of course, they are not detected. In a word, the function is additional and not as simple as a fingerprint sensor.

Apple did not want to repeat Huawei and place the fingerprint sensor on the back, they could not embed it into the screen. The solution is very simple: abandon it altogether and save money. Which they did. When saving on desired functions I'm always sad. When they save on devices that cost so much, it causes surprise and rejection. Next year, many flagships will get fingerprint sensors (in addition to face and iris recognition) built into the screens. I have been using this model for some time and I can say that it is very convenient, fingerprint recognition does not cause problems at all, you can unlock the device without looking at it. The rejection of the fingerprint sensor in the iPhone and in fact only one way of biometrics without alternatives is a mistake.

Reason number 5. Excellent AMOLED screen from Samsung without a number of chips

Apple is forced to buy screens from Samsung for the second year in a row (these are AMOLED screens that the company also puts in its devices), while they do not get all the features that Samsung's flagships have. For example, in 2019, the AlwaysOn Display mode does not appear, which flagships not only from Samsung, but also from other companies have. The reason is very simple: Samsung has a separate DSP for this, which implements adaptive screen backlighting, ambient light analysis, image analysis on the screen, screen burn-in remedies and much more. Including AOD. But no one planned to sell all these developments to Apple, so the company has been developing its own version of such a DSP for the second year already, but for now, Apple users are forced to be content with what they are given. And this is not a new technology at all, Samsung flagship users have been enjoying the power of the desktop screen in the off state for a long time.

iPhone fans, as usual, say that this is a useless thing, no one needs it. But when it appears years later on the iPhone, it suddenly turns out that it is very cool, and most importantly, that “Apple made a revolution and showed how it should be.”

Exactly for the same reason, there are no power saving modes in the iPhone, where the screen is involved, for example, it turns into black and white, saves energy. It's just technology not available to Apple.

Samsung has fine-tuned the screens for Apple, while the maximum brightness is still less than in the flagships from Samsung. The reason is exactly the same, Apple does not have the hardware to fine-tune all the capabilities of these devices. Alas and ah, but technologically the company is far behind the market leader.

Extracurricular reading:

  • Study from Display Mate, where the iPhone XS Max and its screen are called great
  • But if you compare the numbers in different modes with Note 9, then everything will not be so clear.

Both displays are great, they are good as they are from the same manufacturer and that is Samsung. But the possibilities of screens in Samsung flagships disclosed most widely, this Apple lacks.

Reason number 6. Apple's tinkering - slow charging included

Not so long ago, Apple added fast charging to their models, this is a simple and useful feature, without which I cannot imagine modern electronics. Try it, it's very convenient. Unfortunately, with the purchase of any flagship from Apple, you cannot enjoy this feature out of the box, as you are put in an old, cheap 5W charger, this is a slow charge.

Other manufacturers equip their models with fast charging even in smartphones that cost half as much as the iPhone XR, and this is normal. Buyers of XS will have to shell out money for an adapter and a new cable (complete does not fit!).

In total, you will pay 5,380 rubles for fast charging. A trifle? I don’t think so, because for this money you can buy a completely normal smartphone on Android. Apple's tinkering is legendary, and paying that kind of money for a charger is overkill. For comparison, a separate fast charge for Samsung costs 2,190 rubles. But this is in case you lose one from the package. Apple's solution does not benefit in any way, but costs almost 2.5 times more. Savings on matches, and buyers must pay in full and multiple times.

Reason number 7. Dual SIM for China, but not for Russia

For a very long time, Apple believed that two SIM cards were not needed, this was pampering. Now the opinion has changed, but such devices are supplied only to China. You can buy them, the world warranty does not apply to them, but the Russian language is present. In Russia official iPhones only one SIM card. What can I say? In my opinion, this is a big miscalculation of the company, since dual SIM solutions are popular in Russia. On the other hand, Apple is afraid that those who used two iPhones will suddenly find themselves with one, albeit very, very expensive. Still, two iPhones are more expensive than even the XS Max. Pure greed, but that's the whole Apple company.

Reason number 8. Front camera from the past, simple main camera

Apple likes to advertise the photo capabilities of its flagships, but every year it turns out that they fall short of the flagships on Android, especially at night. Nothing has changed this year, and current models still shoot at night. New modes of operation, new tricks, finally the iPhone has learned how to record stereo sound from a pair of microphones in a video (yes, it couldn't do that! Including in X). But the front camera of 7 megapixels in 2019 is somehow strange. This is exactly the same camera that has been installed in the iPhone for many years, the algorithms have been slightly improved. To understand the level of the flagships of 2019, it is worth looking at the pictures from the Pixel 3 / 3XL, where the front camera is dual and can take Super Selfie.

It's sad to see that those who are most fond of taking selfies, and this is definitely the iPhone audience, get such savings on the front camera, Apple could not save so hard on such expensive devices.

Reason number 9. iOS12 is a very limited operating system

Once upon a time, iOS bribed with its appearance, the fact that there were no alternatives to the UI, made so high quality. Those days are long gone, and on Android, both the icons and the UI in general look great, no worse than what Apple offers. But the most important thing is that Apple did not begin to develop the capabilities of its platform, they repeat, and very slowly, what they are doing different companies on Android. Repetition is not very high quality, and sometimes it is not even at all. In order not to list all the problems of iOS, I will note one thing: Apple even said that iOS 12 will be work on bugs, and they will not rush to new features. This is logical when work is underway on the bugs, it took Apple a whole year to do this work. And to see what android is better, you can watch a whole series of videos about it.

Or you can watch one of the recent videos, everything is accessible and understandable there. Moreover, the cost of the model, with which the performance of the flagship from Apple is compared, is noticeably less.

Reason number 10. Maximum cost of ownership - hidden fees

Apple does not advertise that the cost of owning an iPhone is the highest among all companies. You pay for accessories that you didn’t put in the box (you already read about fast charging above), but with XS there is no 3.5 mm adapter in the kit, which was removed to earn some extra money, the price of the adapter is 690 rubles, you’re a trifle, but companies extra income.

The cost of branded accessories is the highest, as well as the price of third-party accessories is also higher than those for Android devices. But what is hardly talked about is the cost of programs in the app store, they tend to cost more. Sometimes the difference in cost is not tens of percent, but several times. It is believed that the iPhone audience willingly pays, more precisely, I must say, willingly overpays. At the same time, some services, for example, the same music, cost the same as Google, but some services are clearly more expensive.

For example, basic version from memory, Apple flagships start at 64 GB, which is done deliberately so that users buy extra bed in iCloud, you can see the prices below.

On Android, you always have a memory card that you can use to store photos and other files. Immediately you are gradually pushed to use more space, and they do it intrusively, in iOS, reminders to save files and buy space appear constantly, they cannot be turned off. You are gently led to the subscription model for additional space. For example, the same Note 9 has 128 GB of internal memory in its basic configuration (forget about the memory card), this will be enough for everyone in 2019. And this is normal for this level of model. Apple did not do this for any model. Why? The answer lies in the fact that for an additional 50 GB in the cloud, you can take 59 rubles a month. Not that much money, is it? But this is just one example of how you have to pay for every sneeze on iOS and iPhone. Everything costs money, and a lot of it.

Reason number 11. About iPhone X and XS

There is no reason to buy an iPhone XS and not an iPhone X. In fact, they are twin brothers, they have the same capabilities, except for the lack of 512 GB in X. But otherwise they will give exactly the same experience, and at the same time iPhone X costs from 60 thousand rubles. And that is why Apple is removing it from the shelves so that it does not an eyesore and does not interfere with XS sales. Here is the evolution of models.

We draw conclusions...

In my opinion, you have to be Apple to raise the price without presenting absolutely anything new, updating the flagships little by little and on the way, and consistently worsening them (radio part, glasses, lack of advanced front camera and other "little things"). Expensive and very expensive - this is the leitmotif of the new generation of iPhone. Of course, there are those who will buy these devices with pleasure, we wrote about them in “Ten Reasons to Buy”.

I see Apple's policy in 2018-2019 as a complete break from reality, sale conventional iPhone for the money they are not worth. Perhaps this is the main complaint that I and most people who look at these devices have. With the price, Apple missed a lot.

Recently, many manufacturers of Android smartphones have rushed to the upper price segment. Here is Xiaomi, which started as a manufacturer available solutions, considers it possible to release premium models, and Huawei even presents a smartphone that costs twice as much as an iPhone. But how worth it is to buy an expensive Android smartphone? Does it make sense to give the same $600-$700 as the flagship Apple costs for a device that will become obsolete in six months or a year?

An iXbt reviewer suggested that at this stage, users should choose either an iPhone or a cheap Android smartphone. Those who are willing to spend $700 on a premium Googlephone, he called "weird people."

“The normal lifespan of a smartphone is two, well, a maximum of three years. If you buy $200 smartphones instead of an $800 smartphone three years in a row, you'll end up with a new device every year that will likely perform better than an $800 device by year two or three. And certainly you will not shake over it. It broke? Okay, I'll buy a new one. Stole? Well, what can you do. Broke? So it doesn’t matter whether there are spare parts or not, or wait for them for two months, and they will definitely put them crookedly, ”the journalist writes.

Of course, the lifespan of each phone is different, but only Apple can offer long-term support. Even after three years, iPhone will still run the latest software, be protected from vulnerabilities, and be able to run all apps.

“In the case of the iPhone, everything is different: firstly, they have been stolen less often lately (thanks to the link to iCloud), secondly, they are being repaired in every doorway, and thirdly, after three years they of course begin to slow down, but you can still use them , albeit on the edge. The same iPhone 5s is still pulling today (but the five is no longer),” the author of the post notes.

Buying an expensive iPhone is justified not only because of the advanced hardware and software, but that Apple smartphones hold the price longer. Studies show that a 2-year-old iPhone retains the same value as Samsung smartphones a year after purchase.

“I do not deny that there are people who really need a smartphone as a working tool. But in this case, the purchase of an Android flagship, most often, is meaningless. To check mail, just like Samsung, a Chinese will do, or (if you want a guarantee) some Lenovo. The LG G4 shoots in the dark better than the G5 or S7, and costs less than 20 thousand rubles. By time battery life many Xiaomi Redmis outshine Sony and LG.”

“In general, it’s enough to treat a smartphone as an icon that you need to spend your last money on ... Now it’s a consumable, a tool for connecting with the world, a completely everyday little thing. And those who think that an expensive smartphone will make them cooler are very strange people. Well, or they need to learn mathematics, Russian and literature better,” he concluded.

Doubting what to take - "iPhone" and "Android"? In fact, there is practically no choice - the iPhone is definitely better in several important ways at once, according to Businessinsider journalists.

iPhone gets the best apps first

Compared to Android, iOS has a much more modest market share. But developers do not care much about this fact - they still release a version of their application first for iPhone and iPad, and only then - for Android. In addition, the version for Android often loses in quality. Often it does not have such a high-quality design, it lacks features that have been on iOS for a long time. The conclusion is obvious - if you want to get cool games and those applications that are being talked about, you better choose an iPhone.

iPhone looks better

With rare exceptions - HTC One, Xiaomi Mi Note - there are practically no truly beautiful Android smartphones. Most of them are angular plastic freaks, disgusting at first sight. In the case of the iPhone, design is given many times more attention. As a result, it is pleasant to look at and looks much better than the competition.

Apple Pay is rapidly becoming the best mobile payment system in the world

The history of the Apple payment service began just a few months ago. But Apple is in any case the only company on the market that has managed to create an easy-to-use, accepted by most banks and issuing credit cards companies.

Excellent support at the Apple Store

Which store will agree to help you if you don’t understand something in your “android”? For many, this is the operator's salon. cellular communication. But how can his employee give advice that is similar in quality to advice in company store Apple - ?

If something is wrong, most people around the world just go to the nearest Apple "temple" and get help. Try to find such a service for Android.

iPhone turns into your remote control ... home!

In the summer of 2014, Apple announced a smart home platform. This year, we will probably hear about it more than once - after all, manufacturers around the world will release gadgets compatible with HomeKit. In other words, you can easily turn off the light without even getting up from the couch.

In appeared new feature entitled . Thanks to her, the head of the family can control the content (movies, books, applications) that appears on the devices in the family. If the “master in the house” is sure that this or that content can harm his household, you just have to want it, and, for example, a child’s access to a thing that is too “adult” for him will be prohibited.

iPhone has the best fingerprint scanner

Samsung and HTC already offer analogues in their flagships. But a copy, as you know, is always worse than the original. None of them are as accurate, none as applicable in real life as Apple's fingerprint scanner. No wonder - a few years ago, Apple, the best specialist in the production of fingerprint scanners for mobile devices. Since then, the Cupertino team has always been one step ahead.

Rare Android compares to iPhone in image quality

The iPhone camera, despite the "modest" by today's standards of 8 megapixels, takes incredible pictures and has useful features like recording video in slow motion () and interval () modes. Perhaps the only truly dangerous competitor in photography is Korean. But even he, of course, does not have the rest of the advantages of the iPhone.

Your software will always be the latest

Both Apple and Google release new versions of their mobile operating systems once a year. But most Android users never get the long-awaited update - manufacturers and operators have no time to "bother" with firmware for hundreds and thousands of devices. When they still get their hands on the update, it's time to wait for the next update.

iPhone is a completely different story. All current (released in the last three years) models receive the latest iOS version. Moreover, in just a few months, Apple perfectly optimizes the system to work even on older devices.
