Hello. I got a smartphone from Highscreen, the model is Power Rage Evo. And today I decided to make a small review on it and tell you about my impressions about this device.

Equipment and appearance.

There is a smartphone in a white box familiar to Higscreen. Pretty minimalistic. Its main characteristics are written on the cover, and its main feature is highlighted - a 4000 mAh battery. Together with a smartphone, ordered original case for him. Eden it is in the same style box as the device itself.

There is a sticker on the side serial numbers, manufacturer information, supported standards, etc.

On the other sides useful information, except for the name of the company and the smartphone is not.

The package bundle, traditionally for Highscreen, is quite rich. For which they respect.

Let's dwell on it in more detail.

In the kit we have:

usb wire micro usb, for charging and connecting to a computer. It looks pretty high quality, thick. Length about 90cm.

Headset. I liked the sound of it. Loud, bassist, and what else do you need from headphones =).

4000 mAh battery. Something is even written in Russian on it, which touches =).

Silicone bumper. It's nice, but I was alerted that the bumper sides do not stick out above the screen, which means that it is almost certain that the glass will suffer if it falls.

This is how the smartphone looks in it. Lies comfortably in the hand.

Protective film. The film is smaller than the screen, which is not very good, it could be done so that the entire screen was protected by it. But thanks for that too.

Also in the kit meets us OTG cable, with which, for example, you can recharge another device, or connect a USB flash drive. In general, for this dopic, special thanks, a very useful thing =)

And of course, a set of waste paper.

The smartphone itself looks like this.

At the back we have a camera, a speaker and a flash for the camera / flashlight.

At the bottom is a micro usb port and a hole for a microphone.

Above is the headset port.

On the right are the volume rockers and the power button.

Under the back cover there is a separate port for a micorsd memory card, and 2 ports for micro sim kart.

A few words about the cover. It looks like this.

In general, quite stylish and cute. But the phone is attached to the case only with ribs on the right and left, as a result, the corners of the phone are not protected, and the phone does not hold securely in it, you can remove it with one finger. Consequently, when dropped, the phone flies out of it and quietly jumps on the floor / asphalt, etc. (Checked personally. I then realized that I was a level 80 krivoruk, because in a week I managed to drop this phone 4 times, and only miraculously it did not crash, but more on that below =)). The magnet on, so to speak, the strap is quite strong, and you can open the case and use a magnet to fix the lid so that it does not hang out.

Impression.

Impressions about this smartphone are very good.

First of all, I really like the design. The screen has curves, which makes the smartphone look more expensive. Behind the same everything is beautiful.

The build quality, as always with Highscreen, is at its best - the lid holds up very well, no backlashes or squeaks were noticed. The details fit very well.

The battery holds a charge, with very active use - a day. By very active use, I mean almost non-stop watching Youtube videos, playing games, etc.

The screen is bright, juicy and contrast. In the sun - everything is clearly visible on it. There is also an oleophobic coating, of normal quality, so that the screen is not very easily soiled, and when it gets dirty, it is easily cleaned with just one movement of a napkin.

Control buttons do not light up.

The smartphone can wake up by double-clicking and supports wake-up gestures.

I also consider it a plus, although relative, because. I do not exclude that I was just lucky - the smartphone is strong. As I wrote above - in a week of use, it fell 4 times for me. 1 time on a tile, 1 on a wooden staircase and 2 times on asphalt, while after the first three falls there were no traces left at all. After the last one, a dent appeared in the corner of the phone. But the screen at the same time remained absolutely intact and does not harm.

The navigation system does not find satellites very quickly, but the location is determined accurately.

As for performance, it is normal for this class of devices. For example, Asphalt 8 slows down a little at high settings, not to say that it interferes much, but it is more comfortable to play at medium settings.

In Antutu, the device is gaining 33242 parrots. In Geekbench - 585 and 1099. In Epic Citatdel it turned out 36.3 FPS.

3GB of RAM should be enough for most tasks.
You can evaluate the quality of the camera by looking at the original photos. As for me, it is neither good nor bad, an ordinary camera, in general, it will do.

Sample photos from the main camera:

From the front:

Pleased with the presence of a magnetic field sensor. The compass works very well, but periodically asks for calibration, which can take a long time, and all this time you have to move the phone through the air, which looks strange to say the least.

In general, I don’t even know what to complain about ...

Perhaps the disadvantages can be attributed to the fact that back cover it turned out to be quite a brand, which is solved with the help of a cover or a complete bumper and the absence of an indicator of missed events.

It is also a pity that the silicone case does not protrude above the screen, and the film does not completely cover the screen, but few people put such goodness in the kit with the phone, but here it is, so I think you can not find fault with these things.

Otherwise, I personally really liked this phone.

You can buy it.

And if you use the LetyShops service, you can get a small cashback for your purchase.

Highscreen in early autumn announced preparations for the release updated version Power Rage with the prefix Evo. The evolution for this model has added support for a number of relevant functions and increased performance. As before, one of key features Highscreen Power Rage Evo is a 4000 mAh battery, more than the market average, but for Highscreen even this capacity is not a record. Attention to time battery life I am glad that few people care about this parameter, limiting themselves to vague promises for optimization. According to a good tradition, we had the opportunity to study the novelty among the first.

By the way, the improvement did not noticeably affect the cost, it is still available to a mass audience. By the time of publication, sales have already started, the recommended price is 11,990 rubles. Below is a summary table with price monitoring in Russian stores, compiled on the basis of data from the Yandex.Market service.

Highscreen Power Rage Evo review

Equipment

Supplied in light-colored cardboard packaging. Characteristics are displayed in the form of a schematic display of the phone.

Package Includes Charger, microUSB cable, OTG cable, transparent bumper, headphones, manual and warranty card.

Appearance

The Highscreen Power Rage Evo is available in navy blue, brown and gold. The colors are chosen unusual, each is interesting in its own way. We have dark blue in our tests, it does not look budget.

It is not only the colors that contribute to this, but also the materials used. Instead of common plastic, metal is used.

It is pleasant to the touch, improves heat dissipation and provides additional protection. The points of transition to glass and plastic are well calibrated.

There are a couple of plastic inserts at the top and bottom, they are necessary to improve the antennas of the communication modules. The lens of the main camera is shifted to the corner. Next to the LED flash.

Manufacturer's logo in the center of the lid. The speaker grille is closer to the bottom edge, it does not overlap with the palm of your hand, the volume does not suffer.

The case is collapsible, you need to make an effort to parse. The lid does not bend under the pressure of the fingers. The battery is removable. Two microSIM slots and a card slot available microSD memory with support for high capacity drives. No paper clips and no need to choose.

Volume rocker and power button on the right side. Easy to press, click is clear.

On the bottom edge is a microUSB connector and a microphone hole. On the opposite side of the Highscreen Power Rage Evo is an audio jack.

The front side is covered protective glass with 2.5D effect. The bottom frame is occupied by three touch buttons, the top speaker grill, front camera, proximity and light sensors.

The thickness of the case is slightly less than 1 cm. The thickness is not felt, all elements are within easy reach.

Screen

The main area of the front side is occupied by a five-inch screen with HD resolution. The pixel density is 298 ppi. The quality of the matrix settings pleased. High margin of brightness, uniform illumination, adaptive adjustment. The picture is clear, the fonts are smooth. There is no air gap between the Asahi protective glass and the matrix. Oleophobic coating applied. Five simultaneous touches are recognized.

Filling

Updated hardware platform. A MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor with Mali T-720 graphics is installed. On board 3 GB random access memory and 16 GB for data storage. When first turned on, about 12 GB are available, there is support for a memory card. OTG supported. The level of performance is enough for stable and fast operation of the Highscreen Power Rage Evo.
