While I was figuring out what was going on, I noticed a cracked D2 diode marked S4 on the keypad board.

It is worth noting that the S4 marking is applied to different models SMD diodes and they are easy to confuse. But, after quite a long search, I came to the conclusion that this is the SD103AW Schottky diode. It is quite low-power, has small dimensions (case SOD-123/SOD-323). Apparently used in signal circuits, it has a low voltage drop at the junction (Low Forward Voltage Drop). I met such diodes on printed circuit boards from portable MP3 players.

From a cursory analysis of the circuitry, the following logic of the circuit's operation when turned on was lined up.

Let me remind you that:

P-channel mosfet transistors open with a minus on the gate;

A semiconductor diode has one-way conduction.

This will be enough to understand the operation of the on and off circuit. For clarity, I was not too lazy and bungled a simple diagram.

When the "Power" button is pressed, the gate of the MOSFET transistor Q2 (AO3407, native Si2301) is connected to minus through diode D2 and opens. Through the opened transistor Q2, the supply voltage is supplied to the entire electronic part of the circuit. The microcontroller opens the bipolar transistor Q1 (marked J6, aka S9014), whose collector is connected to gate Q2. Thus, even after the "Power" button is open, the MOSFET Q2 remains open and supplies power to the circuit.

Diode D2 seems to prevent the collector output of transistor Q1 from shorting to minus when we press the "Power" button again. Since Q1 is open and supplies voltage to the gate of Q2, in this mode, diode D2 is turned on in the opposite direction and does not pass current.

Turn off the wireless speaker by pressing the "Power" button again. When it is pressed, the common wire (aka minus) is connected through diode D4 to the bus button control. So the microcontroller understands that a turn-off signal has come and closes the transistor Q1, and with it Q2. Finishes his work.

I think it is now clear why, when the source-drain terminals of the AO3407 transistor were closed, the column turned on and continued to work normally even when the terminals were opened. The shutdown circuit was in good order and therefore the column was normally turned off by pressing the "Power" button.

Since the AO3407 transistor is more powerful than the native Si2301 and differs in characteristics, its gate capacitance is also greater. And since the gate capacitance is greater, then the charge current of this capacitance when minus is applied to the gate is also greater.

And, as we have already found out, when turned on, the AO3407 gate is connected to the minus through the button and diode D2. In this case, a rather powerful current of charge of the gate capacitance flows through the diode D2. Precisely because it is larger than in the case of the native Si2301, the D2 diode simply burned out due to the excess of the rated current I F, which, judging by the documentation, is only 350 mA (for SD103AW).

To restore the speaker to turn on correctly, instead of the SD103AW diode, a more powerful B5819WS Schottky diode was installed (marked SL), which can withstand direct current (I F) of 1A. Its body is the same as the SD103AW. I took it from the board from the DVR.

After replacing it, the bluetooth column began to work as it should and no more diodes "flyed out".

This concludes my long story about repairing a wireless speaker. But, I would like to add it. It's no secret that wireless speakers often fail speakers. The reason is simple and related to their intensive use at maximum volume.

Most often, just the same cheap bluetooth speakers suffer from such an ailment, the speaker power of which is small and amounts to a maximum of 2-3W. The original columns also do not bypass this trouble. Unlike cheap devices, they have built-in better speakers whose power is 5-15W.
