iPhone or Samsung - which is better? Overview of models of all generations. Which is better Samsung or iPhone? Let's figure it out together! Compare samsung phones and iphone 6s

Introduction

It has become a good tradition to compare products of the same type, which not only perform in the same class, but borrow a lot from each other, as a result, they are perceived on the same level. In a detailed review-comparison, I would like to dwell on both trifles and basic things in order to move from the private to the general, to what each of these phones can give. I will focus not just on technical characteristics, they are useless in isolation from use cases, but on what and how you can do on these phones. What are the benefits of working with them.

If you already know that the iPhone is the best phone or the Galaxy is superior to the iPhone, then close the page and save your nerves. Fans of this or that device should definitely not read a weighted text, where all the possibilities of devices are considered with examples and everything is illustrated with detailed calculations. Having made such a reservation, let's proceed to the consideration of devices.

An important addition. Everywhere I look at the EDGE model, but apart from the curved screen, as well as the price, it has no differences from the Galaxy S6, so you can safely extend all the reasoning to this device. In the conclusions, we will consider it from the point of view of price / quality ratio, but the EDGE model will always appear in the text as the closest in positioning to the iPhone 6s.

Case dimensions, weight, materials and design

Discussing other people's tastes is a thankless task. Some people like one thing, some like another, so let's leave the design aside and focus on the quality of execution and the practical consequences of this.

Samsung switched to 7000 series aluminum alloy, the same material later used in the iPhone 6s. Interestingly, with comparable body sizes, the iPhone weighs 143 grams versus 132 grams for EDGE. But the sizes differ as follows:

  • iPhone 6s - 138.3x67.1x7.1mm
  • Galaxy S6 Edge - 142.1 x 70.1 x 7.0 mm

In the hand, both devices lie well, the rounded edge cuts into the EDGE at first, but you quickly get used to it. I often hear that these devices are slippery, but I have never had such problems. Those who do not like the EDGE side face can look at the regular S6. It feels in the hand as similar as possible to the same iPhone, there are no differences.

Often users of the previous iPhone 6 say that the 6s has become heavier and this is noticeable in the hand. It's true, the center of gravity is located in such a way that the phone is perceived as weighty, this is a subjective impression, in grams the differences are not so huge.

Back cover on EDGE it is covered with glass, the metallic color plays in the sun, fingerprints are not visible on it (only in certain lighting conditions). Glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4, it is resistant to falls and does not break even when falling on asphalt from a height of one and a half meters, although it’s a matter of your luck here, you can break glass even from ten centimeters.

The iPhone 6s uses a metal back with inserts for antennas, this design looks different, there is no metallic reflection effect, and here we again enter the territory of what and who likes it more. A matter of taste. From a household point of view, both devices have exactly the same strength and resistance to external influences.

Now let's move on to the front side of the devices, namely the glass that covers the display. Samsung uses Corning Gorillla Glass 4, the latest generation of design from Corning, which has maximum strength, drop resistance and also scratch resistance. Many people take scratch resistance as a statement that there can be no scratches at all and the phone can be safely carried with keys. Unfortunately, this is not the case, no one is immune from the appearance of small scratches. On my phone for several months of daily use, they appeared, and this is absolutely normal.

The iPhone 6s has mineral tempered glass. I often had to read on various resources that glass from Corning is also installed here, but there is simply no evidence for this. There is no list of products on the Apple manufacturer's website, you can find the list itself.

Another point is that the glass behaves exactly the same as on the iPhone 6, it has less resistance to scratches, for example, in my pocket and without keys, there was such a long scratch from the second phone. Nobody scratched the phone on purpose.

It is also known that the mineral glass on the iPhone does not tolerate drops even from a small height, its strength is much inferior to that of Gorilla Glass. Main iPhone problem when falling, this is a broken screen; in EDGE from the same height, it often does without damage at all. Unfortunately, Apple can't access Corning's technologies because Samsung is a co-owner of the company. The result is slightly worse characteristics of the device in everyday use. Screen replacement is the most expensive operation for any phone, so be careful with them. On the other hand, no one thinks that it is his the phone will fall and will break.

In this video, you can see how the 6s screen usually breaks when falling from a small height, everything is quite revealing. Let me remind you that such videos are always a game of probability, you can break the phone even when hitting the carpet. Another thing is that the iPhone 6/6s is guaranteed to break when dropped, and this is already a proven fact, but EDGE/S6, on the contrary, is harder to break.

According to the body materials between these devices, there is almost complete parity, the difference is that the iPhone 6s is a little more fragile due to mineral glass. But everything else is the same. As well as the ergonomics of the devices is comparable, EDGE wins in screen diagonal with almost the same size and less weight.

I love both devices, they have no compromise in terms of materials, they are the best you can find on the market today.

The fingerprint is implemented in the same way in these models, reacts to touch, does not work on a wet surface. The unlocking speed is about the same, in Everyday life there are no differences.

Screen comparison - 4.7 inches vs 5.1 inches

Let's take a look at the table that shows the characteristics of the screens and compare them on paper.

Samsung consistently improves its own screens, reduces their power consumption and makes them better in all aspects of work. The company is a technological leader in this field. Even a comparison of characteristics on paper shows that the screen resolution and its diagonal are larger, the brightness of the backlight is higher, which allows you to read on the screen even in bright sunlight or see the picture in the viewfinder in the form in which it will then be displayed in the gallery after you take a picture. Apple does not have these technologies, and the company has nowhere to acquire them. The difference between devices in this aspect is huge, it can be safely described as a difference of several generations, read years. This situation has been persisting for a couple of years, in different products of companies, the gap at Apple cannot be reduced in any way.

In everyday use, if you don't directly compare the screens, you will most likely be satisfied with both the first and second devices. Moreover, I will say a seditious thought - if you switch to these devices from models of previous seasons, then the improvement in the quality of the screen will become noticeable in any case. But if you are still going to compare them directly and choose which is better, then you should remember a few serious differences. In EDGE, as well as in all devices with SuperAMOLED, there is a setting to improve brightness depending on the conditions (conditions mean both external lighting and the content you are watching). For example, in the browser, when viewing pages, the white color on the iPhone will be different, but on Note it gives off a little yellowness - this is not a screen problem at all, but the initial setting, which was made to reduce eye fatigue and increase the device's operating time.

The marketing term Retina means that in an outstretched hand, you, having 100% vision, will not be able to see the screen grids, that is, individual dots. Both devices fit this definition well. But the overall impression of the texts in the browser on EDGE is better, the fonts are smoother - you can see it easily in the photo, in real life you can't distinguish it, even looking closely. But there is a difference, and it is felt.

Apple iPhone 6s/Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Operating time - battery

You can’t directly compare the operating time of devices based on battery capacity, because the operating time depends on processor performance, screen time and brightness of its backlight, and other characteristics of the phone. Historically, the iPhone has been thought to be a smartphone that lasts a long time. Typically, it was based on the fact that the small iPhone screen did not consume as much power, while Android smartphones had gone far in both resolution and diagonal. In 2015, these parameters were partially leveled, the power consumption in the iPhone is lower for many tasks, but the battery is also smaller.

Battery capacity in 6s - 1750 mAh (Li-Pol), in EDGE - 2600 mAh. The difference is big, but is it really that big in real life? I want to make a reservation right away that the utility that is in iOS9 and shows the device’s operating time for the last 24 hours is almost not applicable in order to evaluate real time work, in android system utility, showing energy consumption, is much better and more informative. What's more, Apple traditionally misleads consumers by showing battery life as the sum of screen time and background activity, which in years past led many to believe that 6-7 hours is screen time. Actually, it is not. However, you can calculate the screen time yourself, summing up each line, and see how long the phone worked.

Video playback time on iPhone is up to 10 hours, on EDGE - about 12.5 hours. With the same screen brightness settings. But such a head-on comparison is rather artificial, since in life we use different features of the phone, write messages, make calls, connect a headset to the device and listen to music.

For almost three weeks, I used these two devices daily, trying to provide approximately comparable loading. The task is not the easiest, day after day I changed SIM-cards in order to create approximately the same conditions. And here are the conclusions I came to.

First, the runtimes for these two devices are about the same in real use scenarios. The EDGE gain in some scenarios (video, data transmission) is not stunning, it is described as a 20-25% increase in operating time. For example, this can be seen when distributing the Internet to other devices. With an average load of smartphones, they will work from morning to evening, with heavy use in the tail and mane, they will last until lunch. The impression is that they are very close in terms of work time, it is impossible to name a clear winner here.

Secondly, it is worth noting that when not using phones best time work will show the iPhone, it actually freezes and does nothing. Therefore, if your phone is lying for a long time (a week or so), then you will like the iPhone. This is a flaw rather than Android, which constantly tries to transfer something in the background.

From iPhone cons I will note very long charge, 2-2.5 hours before full capacity. Of course you can take Charger from iPad, but this will adversely affect battery capacity and life. EDGE has fast adaptive charging (respectively charger included). In 15 minutes, you can get 25 percent of the charge, which is convenient and allows you to charge the device on the go, in those moments when you find yourself near a power outlet. Complete freedom with charging indulges, I have lost the habit of charging the phone at night, now I do it only as needed and when it is convenient for me.

The presence of built-in wireless charging is also a big plus, there is nothing like that in the iPhone. This is, of course, an additional option, and it is not the most important, but sometimes in public places where there are such chargers, this allows you to recharge the device in a short time.

In iOS9, power saving settings appeared, they cut off data transfer, make the interface slower, in a word, they remove everything unnecessary. But they cannot dramatically increase the operating time. The EDGE has several power-saving modes and in the extreme we get hours of use for calls and SMS as the screen fades to grayscale and consumes almost no power. For an IPS display in an iPhone, this is simply not possible.

Another point worth mentioning. In the iPhone 6s on a Samsung processor, the operating time is noticeably shorter, you can read about this in detail.

My device has a processor manufactured by TSMC, so the comparability of models in terms of working time with EDGE applies only to this configuration. If you have an iPhone 6s with a Samsung processor, it will run 15-20 percent less. It is worth remembering this.

Performance, chipsets, RAM

I don't know people who buy phones without regard to their cost. It so happened that Apple fans are very proud of how the processors in the iPhone are optimized, how many virtual parrots they show in virtual tests and how they outperform other solutions in terms of performance per processor core. But the problem is that a person buys a complete solution, which already has so many processor cores and such and such performance. It is the choice of each company how to optimize their device - focus on optimizing old hardware and achieve high performance at the expense of the OS (Apple) or create the most productive solution, the power of which is enough for any task (Samsung).

If the difference in the filling would also be reflected in the cost of the solution, then any comparisons would be appropriate. But in a situation where a hardware richer solution costs less, there is no point in complaining that the performance in virtual parrots is somehow different. This is just nonsense that is of interest to a very limited circle of people who are trying to show that their favorite manufacturer is better. This approach has nothing to do with real use cases.

In real life, the performance of these two solutions has no or almost no difference. The speed of opening applications is about the same. Implementation differs random access memory, so the iPhone has a limit on the number of open tabs in the browser, there can't be a hundred or so of them, as it is allowed on Android. Do you need so many tabs? It depends on you. In recent Android versions use reloading applications when opened from memory, they are restored to the same state as they were. But often this takes time. On iPhone, recent apps load faster, unless you're running something gluttonous. In everyday life, the difference is almost imperceptible, unless you sit with a stopwatch in your hand.

Now an important note regarding iOS9. In 2014, I wrote that the quality of iOS, starting from version 7, has been consistently declining, in version 8 we have already seen a sufficient number of shortcomings, it was not accepted in the best way. But the 9th version eclipsed everything that came before. AT this moment my iPhone 6s is already running version 9.1, but a bunch of minor and not-so-great issues have not been fixed. What are at least missing signals for messages in different programs They either exist or they don't. This is a basic feature that any phone has, and it works there. There is a lottery right there, sometimes there is a sound, sometimes it disappears. Software error. As one iPhone fan wrote, he developed the habit of checking his phone for messages every 15 minutes. I think it's idiotic.

There is also a problem with CapsLock, when the letters in the keyboard jump randomly. It can't be fixed for a long time.

With the release of 9.1, which was supposed to remove many of the problems, they only got worse. Visual glitches began to appear in the interface, overlapping windows.

An example of how the mail works on my phone, although it's more likely to say that it does not work.

Well, the cherry can be considered that when wifi phone loads data frequently mobile network. The iOS9 version is just something, and its quality is far from anything that can be called a stable system. Unfortunately, I can't compare it with Android 5.1 on EDGE, because on the latter I always hear notifications, the interface is not buggy and there are no other “little things”. Here it should be noted that ignoring the basic principles of software development by Apple, which they had in the past years, led to such sad consequences. While the fans of the company defend it, promising that everything will be fixed soon, ordinary people begin to wonder if the king is naked. It is impossible to describe iOS9 in any words, it's just a disaster.

Cameras, photo quality comparison

I'll start with the front camera. For the first time, the iPhone received a new front camera with a higher resolution, it is 5 megapixels. Exactly the same camera resolution in Samsung, but there are a few differences. For example, Samsung traditionally has a customizable Beauty Face feature that removes skin imperfections and can make your face look glossy.

iPhone 6S Galaxy S6 Edge

The girls are just delighted with this opportunity, they really like it. Everyone else, I think, does not care, unless you love to take selfies.

When recording video on the front camera, the quality is approximately comparable, it does not differ dramatically.

  • Front camera sample video (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge) (MP4, 26 MB) >>>
  • Front camera video sample (Apple iPhone 6S) (MP4, 26 MB) >>>

For iPhone new front-camera- This is a huge step forward, since until recently the cameras were very mediocre in quality. Now they are at the market level, but no more.

Now let's look at the main camera, they differ in resolution, Samsung has a 16 megapixel matrix, iPhone has 12 megapixels. But, as you know, it is not the resolution that determines the quality of the images, but the algorithm for processing information from the matrix. From the point of view of everyday use, pictures from iPhone and EDGE will be comparable in most cases, the slight superiority of EDGE on the phone screen will not be noticeable in any way, and on a PC almost no one considers pictures. The pictures from the iPhone contain less information, they can not be zoomed in the same way as those from the EDGE, but, again, few people need this. When applied to a telephone or social networks both devices give quite tolerable, high-quality images, they can be assessed at the same level. If you dig into the details, it turns out that there are more opportunities on EDGE, you can set up your camera mode (Pro Mode), select each of the settings and get fundamentally different photos. It's like the automatic mode on soap dishes, where you point the camera and shoot, compare with a professional camera, the second is needed by units, as well as get a high-quality result, they usually cannot, they simply do not know how. I emphasize that the extended camera capabilities in EDGE may not be used, "point and shoot" also works here.

I suggest looking at the photos at night and during the day, I'm sure that you won't see much difference.

iPhone 6S Galaxy S6 Edge

As before, I act as an advocate for the iPhone, that is, I interpret any comparison in its favor, even where there is a small loss. The reason for this is to offset the fact that I use EDGE on a daily basis and know the product well.

Communication options

Formally, we are again faced with a two-world approach - one has Apple using standard and open technologies, but turning them into closed variants that are incompatible with other platforms. And there is Android, where everything is implemented as conveniently as possible.

The iPhone has an NFC chip, but it is used only for ApplePay payments (works in a limited number of places and not in Russia). Accordingly, it is impossible to use NFC to manage tags, pair with accessories with one touch, for example, with an external wireless speaker or headset, on the iPhone. A very convenient technology, but it is not in the iPhone - it is present in EDGE.

Another point is the standards, EDGE uses Bluetooth 4.1, which has better control of external devices. As a result, they will last longer on a single charge. The iPhone is very clever with Bluetooth, so every OS update is like a minefield, problems often start where there were none.

The devices from Samsung, and the Note is no exception, are completely omnivorous, they work with all devices, and there are no problems as such.

I also note that WiFi support Direct allows you to transfer large files to other devices, including smartphones. The implementation of AirDrop is much worse from all points of view, and it is much more difficult to set it up. It either works, or you just suffer, not understanding what you are doing wrong.

From the point of view of the noise reduction system, these are equivalent devices, two microphones and approximately the same location, the algorithm of operation. There were no problems while using the phones.

Radiation level, SAR value

Both devices work on the same Russian networks, it is interesting to see what the level of radiation is, namely SAR value. You can see the value for the iPhone 6s for Russia at this link.

For EDGE, SAR data can be found at .

Traditionally, the radio part of the iPhone emits more, this has already become a tradition. It has not been scientifically proven how radiation affects the human body, we can only say that this parameter is twice as large in the iPhone. Please note that if you are worried and know for sure that the radiation is harmful, then you should use a headset and, if possible, do not carry the phone in your pockets. And it is desirable to completely abandon it.

Issue price and final conclusions

Comparing these flagships, I always interpreted any discrepancies in favor of the iPhone, as they say about the examiners, I pulled it by the ears. Someone will say that the iPhone does not need it, but I do not agree. In many small things, this product loses, and the number of such small things is great, if they are combined.

Unfortunately, there is not a single technology in the iPhone 6s that would make the use of this device different, bring it to the market leaders and allow it to overtake the same EDGE. The device is rather secondary, following Samsung, Apple began to use the 7000 series of aluminum, reacting in this way to the scandal with bending phones, which, in my opinion, was far-fetched and in reality there was no such problem.

Many here may say that the iPhone screen has a new 3D Touch technology, which is not found in any other device. I interviewed all my friends who use the latest generation of iPhone, the answers amazed me. Most people just don't know what it is and how to work with it. The remaining 20 percent tried once and then spat, it's inconvenient and unclear where it works and where it doesn't. There is no habit to such technology, which means that its presence or absence does not affect the perception of the device. I just don't remember the infrared port in S6 / S6 EDGE for control household appliances, since it can also be considered a feature, which is not very important.

For Russia, it is also worth noting that the iPhone 6s does not have frequency aggregation, that is, the maximum speed in LTE will be limited, this can be fixed with new firmware in the future, so this point cannot be considered fundamental.

For the average consumer, several points are important in the device - the operating time (the same, but it charges faster than EDGE, plus there is wireless charging), the quality and size of the screen (EDGE is ahead by a wide margin in every sense), the camera (EDGE is slightly better for those who can remove, everyone else will not feel the difference), the quality of the case materials (comparable, but the mineral glass in the iPhone is cheaper and easier to beat). But there is another parameter that can be called the most important, this is the cost of devices.

So, the price of iPhone 6s 16GB in Russia starts from 57,000 rubles. Ordinary Galaxy S6 costs 38,000 rubles, EDGE - 44,000 rubles (prices in official stores companies). It turns out that by buying Galaxy S6, you get a device that costs 19 thousand rubles cheaper, and by buying EDGE, you save 13 thousand rubles. It is also worth remembering here that basic version S6/S6 EDGE does not have 16 GB of memory, but exactly twice as much - 32 GB.

In my opinion, given that the iPhone 6s has no real, visible advantage over these two models, and the number of blunders and bugs in iOS9 exceeds reasonable limits, the choice is obvious. On the other hand, there a large number of people who do not know how to choose and stop only at the brand that they know and overpay for it. It's their choice and their money, you can't blame them for buying what they like. But it is also impossible to consider their choice reasonable at least in some way, they buy a weaker technological product for a lot of money. However, as shown above, in terms of use cases, the iPhone does not provide any advantage other than the feeling of owning an iPhone. However, in Russia most of the people have already made their choice, and since the beginning iPhone sales 6s it could not outsell EDGE and S6, these models are sold in larger numbers.

But this material simply compares the main points in the devices, shows which of them is strong in a particular area, and you can already draw conclusions yourself. In the end, it's up to you to buy a phone with your own money, and then you vote with your ruble.

P.S. Since this kind of material always makes fans from both camps hysterical, I have a big request, if you compare something, do it with examples and with facts, otherwise the discussion will not work out.

Both phones are actively sold in the domestic market and collect positive reviews. They cost approximately the same and are flagship models from the lines of different manufacturers.

Competitors

Both the sixth iPhone and the Galaxy S7 have their competitors, who are in the same price category. These are the well-known iphone 6s Plus, OnePlus 3T and even an older version from Samusng - S8. Let's share phone reviews links with competitors:

iPhone 6s Comparison:

  1. vs 6s plus by
  2. vs Xiaomi Mi5 – .

Samsung S7 Comparison:

  • vs OnePlus 3T - Available
  • vs S8 - .
  • vs iPhone SE - .
  • vs iPhone 6s plus - .
  • vs Huawei P9 – .

If in doubt about the choice, then be sure to consider all possible competitors for the phone you are choosing. Don't focus on just one.

Parameter table

In the table we indicate the main characteristics of both models, the cost. Phones with 32 GB of memory "on board" took part in the comparison.

iPhone 6s Galaxy S7
Price 39-40 thousand rubles 35-38 thousand rubles
Display 4.7 inches, 1334x750 5.1 inches, 2560x1440 (QHD)
CPU Apple A9 Exynos 8890
Graphic arts MALI T880 MP12
RAM 1 GB 4 GB
Disk 32 GB 32 GB
rear camera 12 MP, f/2.2
Battery 14 hours of talk time 3000 mAh
Dust and water protection

These 2 smartphones are fundamentally different, so comparing them is not entirely appropriate. But we will try.

Displays

The first obvious difference is the displays, their diagonal, resolution. Many users are unknowingly disappointed when they see iPhone resolution 6S, which is not FullHD, but only HD in 2017! But in reality, with a diagonal of 4.7 inches, the FullHD display is just stupid. Apple finds a balance between screen size and resolution. As a result, the resolution of 1334x750 fits perfectly into the indicated diagonal: there is absolutely no pixelation, no extra load on the processor, no extra battery consumption, the picture is as comfortable as possible for the user. In addition, here is a Retina display, which means that colors even at the largest viewing angles will look natural, the margin of brightness is huge. In two words - the display is beautiful.

Samsung Galaxy S7 screen is great too. It is a SuperAMOLED display with QHD resolution and a diagonal of 5.1 inches. SuperAMOLED technology is supposed to be the best today, and many other manufacturers are trying to get their hands on it for use in their smartphones. In our opinion, the resolution of 2560x1440 is superfluous here, simple HD or, as a maximum, FullHD would be enough "with the head." QHD is, of course, cool, but practical use little of this. You can't notice the difference in the picture on such a small diagonal (even just HD will look good on a 5.1-inch display), and the load on the processor and battery increases greatly. Therefore, here QHD is a simple marketing ploy, and not the most successful one.

But it is worth paying tribute: the display in the Samsung Galaxy S7 is good: it behaves well in the sun (glare and reflections are absent), the brightness margin is large, and the color reproduction is natural. Samsung specialists even took care of users who are used to wearing glasses with a polarizing filter. A regular screen when viewed with these glasses turns black at a certain angle, but not the display of the Galaxy S7. This is the first display where such a trifle is provided.

And finally, the highlight is the Always On Display technology, which displays the clock, date, battery charge or something else to choose from on the locked screen. Now you do not need to press buttons to light up the screen and display necessary information. At the same time, this technology consumes very little electricity. For a whole day of work, support for Always On Display technology takes only 2-3% of the battery charge.

It's hard to draw conclusions. Both the iPhone 6S and Galaxy S7 have great screens. But thanks to some new tech, Samsung's SuperAMOLED display wins.. Important: this victory is not at all due to more high definition. To some extent, it is a disadvantage here.

Processor: Apple A9 vs Exynos 8890

CPU in Galaxy S7

2 different chips can be used here: Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820. The most commonly used proprietary processor is Exynos 8890, and models with SD 820 are extremely rare. Therefore, locally look towards the Exynos 8890. This is a pretty cool processor for the flagship Samsung line. It can also be used in later phones: Galaxy S7 Edge+ or Galaxy Note 6.

This chip is based on ARMv8 architecture, has eight cores: 4 high performance M1 cores, 4 power saving cores - Cortex-A53 (low performance). There is also ARM Mali T880MP12 graphics.

The Snapdragon 820 processor, which can also be used in this flagship, shows similar results in the benchmark test. But due to the higher power consumption, it will be approximately 10% less autonomous, and the camera focus speed will be slightly slower, which is a disadvantage of the Snapdragon 820. Therefore, we recommend choosing a Galaxy S7 with an Exynos processor.

Apple A9

If you do not go into technical details, then you can characterize the performance of the iPhone 6S as follows: all sites open extremely quickly, the interface works without the slightest brakes and friezes, applications and games show high FPS.

According to the Antutu benchmark, the iPhone 6S is gaining 132606 points and is ranked 32 in the overall ranking among all smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is on the 22nd position of the rating with a score of 140407 points.

These results are published in the official Antutu blog. It follows that the Galaxy S7 is more productive, and the Exynos 8890 outperforms the Apple A9. The Korean-made Samsung product becomes the winner.

Camera Comparison

Let's start with S7. Used here sony camera IMX260, which was originally developed specifically for this flagship. The lens aperture is f/1.7, which is good (compared to the standard f/2.0). Unlike other cameras, focusing in the Sony IMX260 is carried out over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe matrix (the technology is called Dual Pixel), which means that each pixel takes part in focusing, which increases the brightness and clarity of the image. This is especially noticeable in evening photos in low light. You can’t call the camera strong, but it’s definitely better cameras many competitive flagships.

Sample photos on S7

Now about iPhone 6S. We were unable to find accurate information about the iPhone 6S sensor. Known resolution of 12 megapixels, aperture f / 2.2 (which is worse compared to S7), the presence of HDR mode, True Tone Flash. But there is no optical stabilization (as in Samsung).

Sample photos on iPhone 6S

It is difficult to determine the winner in this pair, because photos on both smartphones are decent. Subjectively, we will give the victory to the Samsung Galaxy S7. Visually, it seems that the quality is better there, although it is very difficult to notice the difference “by eye”.

autonomy

According to the manufacturer, the iPhone 6S can withstand 14 hours of talk time, 11 hours of video playback and 50 hours of music. Of course, these are approximate data, but it can be argued that every evening or night the phone will have to be charged. This is the "standard" for a modern phone.

The battery capacity of the Galaxy S7 is higher - 3000 mAh, but this is indirectly related to autonomy. After all, the operating time of phones is also optimization, the correct consumption of energy by components. With this, Samsung is not bad: playing video at maximum brightness is 13 hours. This indirectly confirms autonomy. Some users claim that in "economy mode" the phone lives for 2 days, and there are those who manage to spend the charge in 3 days, but this is already a perversion.

Whatever it was, but with autonomy, the S7 is a little better, so the flagship from Samsung becomes the winner.

Other difference

IP68 dust and water resistance is a feature of the S7. You can drown it, and nothing will happen to it. Not only can water not get inside, but also the protection of components with a special solution (impregnation) that repels water. The USB ports are also protected.

Many compared the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the iPhone 6, but since the latter is inferior in technical characteristics, according to most users, such a comparison is not entirely correct. By the time the smartphone from Samsung was released, the iPhone 6 had been on sale for more than six months and had become technically outdated.

Now we will conduct a similar comparison of the iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S6, which appeared on the market about a year after the release of the usual “six”. We will find out what are the differences between them and what should be paid attention to first of all.

Design

A smartphone is a status indicator and one of the main accessories in our time. An ordinary person does not care about the technical characteristics of the device, architectural features, etc. Therefore, design is one of the main criteria that everyone is guided by. Next, we will look at the appearance of each of the above flagships and compare it with previous devices from these companies.

Design Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung this time tried hard to make them new flagship its appearance corresponded to the price and was in no way inferior to its closest competitors. The front of the regular S6 looks familiar, with a design strongly reminiscent of previous models in this line of smartphones, and the S5 in particular. But the version of the Edge with a curved display is unlike anything previously created by Samsung.

This flagship has a Quad HD screen with a diagonal of 5.1 inches and a resolution of 2560x1440, but we will not go into it technical features. It is enough to know that this is an excellent solution that fully justifies its cost.

Innovations include a shiny metal edging along the edge of the device, as well as back panel, this time made of glass, instead of cheap plastic in older models.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus design

The new iPhone 6s looks just like the regular iPhone 6. Apple, as always, worked on the quality of materials, making a one-piece body of 7000 aluminum, due to this, the gadget has become the most shock-resistant on the market. An innovation was the color of gadgets, called Rose Gold, which immediately gained popularity among the weaker sex.

The screen of the iPhone called Retina HD is not nearly inferior to the solutions of competitors. It has a resolution of 1334x749 and a pixel density of 326 PPI. And also supports the new 3D Touch technology, which perceives the force of pressing. This innovative feature implements a completely new level of interaction with the gadget.

The glass that the touchscreen is made from uses a new dual ion exchange technology that Apple claims makes their screen the most durable on the market.

Design verdict

It is difficult to unequivocally decide which of these devices deserves the title of the most attractive in terms of design. It all depends on your personal preferences, but we can say for sure that these flagships are the most beautiful devices on the mobile gadget market at the moment.

By comparing the sizes of these devices, we see that the offer from Samsung is slightly larger than the competitor.

Specifications

Further, we will try to compare the technical characteristics of these devices in as much detail as possible, explain what is the difference between them and what they affect. As a result, you will have all the information you need to decide what to choose for you.

Processor and RAM

iPhone 6s uses an A9 processor and 2GB of RAM, which together give excellent performance.

The Galaxy S6 uses Samsung's Exynos 7 processor built using Cortex A53 and A57.

Despite the fact that the processor of the device should be inferior to the Samsung solution in terms of technical characteristics. According to the results of benchmark tests, it bypasses the competitor twice. But their multi-core results are identical.

Camera

Both devices are equipped with advanced and modern cameras. The Galaxy comes with a 16 megapixel camera capable of 4K video, while the iPhone only has 12 megapixels.

Samsung's camera sensor is more sensitive, thus gaining an advantage when shooting in low light conditions. Also, their camera supports OIS optical stabilization technology, which is only available on the iPhone 6s Plus and not on the regular 6s.

Historically, Apple smartphones have the highest quality cameras, this has often been the main criterion for choosing their technology. Recently, the situation has changed a lot, the developers of android devices have come to their senses and now their solutions are the best of everything that is on the market.

One of the features the iPhone 6s is focusing on is Live Photos, which is a pretty interesting thing. Many believe that no one needs this and is a cunning marketing ploy.

I absolutely disagree with this opinion, since for people with small children this function has become almost indispensable. And no one will be surprised if Samsung, imitating its competitors, also introduces this feature into its devices.

This is all that can be discussed when comparing cameras. In my opinion, Galaxy has the advantage here. Why? Because of the sensitive sensor and better resolution photos.

Battery

One of the most important criteria that you need to focus on when choosing a smartphone is the time of its operation, as well as the speed of charging the battery. Galaxy and iPhone are equipped with batteries of 2550 and 1715 milliamp hours, respectively. The results of the comparison are clearly not in favor of Apple's device, but judging by the reviews, which Galaxy has rather negative, users cannot squeeze more than three hours of work out of their smartphone when watching movies and talking on video calls.

Another plus is wireless charging. It's relative new technology, which greatly simplifies the use of a smartphone and relieves its owner of the need to store extra wires and chargers.

Prices

At the start of sales, the Galaxy C6 cost $672, but enough time has passed since then. Having waited until the price drops to $ 576 in a configuration with 32 gigabytes of memory, we can say with confidence that the device is worth the money. The iPhone costs a little more, the minimum price for the version with 16 gigabytes of memory is $649. Accordingly, the offer from Samsung is more profitable.

Briefly about each of the key advantages of these devices

iPhone this time distinguished itself by good performance and innovative 3D Touch technology, which was practically unnoticed by software developers for IOS. Although I am more than sure that this is just a temporary phenomenon and many have not yet realized what potential this seemingly simple opportunity contains.

On the other hand, Android is complex and has more potential for a variety of flashing, installing new skins and hidden system features, which gives a huge scope for technically advanced users.

The new Galaxy boasts a more advanced camera and no less innovative technologies than 3D Touch - wireless charging as well as fast charging. These features together allow you to charge your smartphone up to 100% in just 100 minutes. The iPhone will have to spend more than 180 minutes on this.

Conclusion

I hope this article was useful for you to decide what to choose iPhone 6s vs Samsung S6. I tried to make an unbiased review, and not to make an advantage against Glaxy because of my opinion, since he is still less interesting to me. Express your opinion in the comments under this entry, maybe you found some differences from your opinion here, share the article on social networks. See you on the pages of the site!

Video

A lot of time has passed since the announcement of the Galaxy S7. If you remember, the presentation took place in an unusual style for Samsung. For the first time, the bet was made not on technical characteristics, but on the impressions of the device. This approach is preached by Apple, so it is not surprising that she got it right at the presentation. Samsung took a ride on a competitor in the face of the iPhone 6S in the field of camera, not forgetting to emphasize other advantages of the flagship: a waterproof case, support for memory cards, fast charging. Work was done on the bugs of the Galaxy S6 and it seemed that Samsung had made the ultimate flagship that destroys the competition. I had the opportunity to test the Galaxy S7 and compare it with the iPhone 6S. I'm sure part iPhone users I thought about switching to S7 after the announcement and maybe even switched to it. In this comparison, I will talk about the strengths and weaknesses of each flagship and share my personal impressions of the temporary transition from the iPhone 6S to the Galaxy S7.

Design and construction

Talking about the design of the Galaxy S7 should start with colors, they greatly affect the perception of the product. White and black turned out to be more successful than the others, since fingerprints are not visible on them thanks to a special coating. Phones seemed to be dipped in caramel. The gold and silver versions turned out to be shiny and easily soiled, they instantly leave fingerprints. Remember the mirror coating of some Galaxy S6, Xperia Z5 Premium - here it is the same, only without mirroring. In a cool room or on the street, the traces are easily rubbed off and disappear on their own, but as soon as it warms up a little, it’s not so pleasant to look at the S7. Alas, the white version of the smartphone is not officially sold in Russia, so if you don’t want to worry too much about fingerprints, take the classic black version. Silver titanium looks more attractive, but is much less suitable for everyday use.

The design of the S7 itself hasn't changed much from the S6. The outlines have become smoother, based on the same glass on both sides and a metal frame. The changes are more visible in the case of the S7 edge, it feels much nicer in the hand compared to its predecessor. In S7, the metal frame resembles a bumper rather than a smooth extension of the body. The same Alcatel IDOL The 4S looks and feels more solid, although it uses the same materials. The S7 frame could use heavy paint or other finishes, it feels rough and unfinished, and easily scratches and chips. When buying a leather case and with careful handling of the device, these troubles can be avoided. In general, careful handling of a phone made of glass and metal for many thousands of rubles will become your credo. The most sensitive part of the body was the fingerprint scanner and its protective coating.

It is made of plastic, or some kind of fragile glass, since the scanner of the test Galaxy S7 was badly scratched even before it fell into my hands. This is impossible to achieve with careful handling of the device, but it is easy to achieve if you carry the device with keys and change in the same pocket or in the same section of the bag. This would be problematic to achieve if there was a sapphire glass scanner protection as in the iPhone, but alas. At the same time, the case of the iPhone 6S also cannot be called wear-resistant. It has a slippery and smooth aluminum body, which is also not recommended to be carried with change or keys. Using the iPhone 6S without a case is more expensive, and the thick sides of native cases or additional glass will save the screen from cracks on occasion.

The rest of the design and body were successful. Samsung engineers should be given credit, because the dimensions of the case for a smartphone with a 5.1 "" screen are extremely small and comparable to the 4.7" iPhone 6S. Water and dust protection are rather pleasant additions, the phone is not afraid of rain or spilled liquid, but it is not worth it purposefully sink the gadget and use it for underwater shooting. It will last half an hour in this mode thanks to IP68 protection, but you take the risks. The iPhone 6S does not offer any advanced water protection, although rain and accidentally spilled a glass of water will not be a problem for him (as well as sea waves – from personal experience) In some foreign tests, the device withstands immersion in water for 10 minutes.

The S7 screen has a good oleophobic coating and collects less fingerprints than the iPhone 6S display. In terms of resolution, Samsung's flagship is far ahead - 2560x1440 (577 ppi) versus 1334x750 (326 ppi) for the iPhone 6S. In fact, the pixel density is comparable, and the Quad HD resolution of the Super AMOLED screen is needed primarily to hide the pentile. The picture quality is close to the reference for both devices, but not without reservations. The Galaxy S7's AMOLED display features infinite contrast and deep blacks, high brightness, and near-natural colors, but only in Basic screen mode. In other modes of color for an amateur. As with all such screens, purple-green stripes are visible during deviations, and the display itself turns green when tilted vertically. In everyday life, this may not be evident, but lying in bed, when the phone is not held in the most natural way, it is already hard not to notice. You get used to this over time, and if you use the "Basic" mode, then the distortions when tilted due to the calm color scheme are not so visible.

The iPhone 6S has an IPS screen with a contrast ratio of 1400:1, which by IPS standards gives deep blacks, which, of course, is infinitely far from black in AMOLED screens. There are natural colors and shades, and a slight inversion is visible only with strong diagonal deviations. In other positions, the screen shows itself equally well. iOS 9.3 introduces Night Shift, which reduces blue light and warms up the screen for comfortable nighttime reading. I would like to see such a function on all smartphones in the world. Some companies already have it or had it before iOS, Samsung doesn't have it yet. Using the screen at night is not so comfortable, but there is no strong discomfort due to the low minimum brightness. Samsung still has an adaptive screen mode that changes the color gamut of the display depending on the conditions (only works with native applications), but it uses the richest color setting by default, and I can’t call its effect on the display behavior noticeable. This is never a TrueTone display in iPad Pro 9.7 (review), the change of shades of which is noticeable immediately with any external change in the situation.

The assembly of the Galaxy S7 does not cause any complaints, as well as the location of the main controls, except for the touch buttons under the screen. If you have not used them before, then out of habit you will encounter accidental clicks and grazing at inopportune moments. The backlighting of the keys can no longer be configured using standard tools (but you can use the third-party Galaxy Button Light utility), and you will probably get tired of it quickly. After the iPhone 6S, the occasional button presses and hypersensitivity of the S7's screen will put any turncoat under pressure. Apple adjusts the iPhone display in such a way that only frequent areas of interaction with the screen are considered hypersensitive. This prevents accidental clicks, so use your native iOS keyboard comfortable even on the 4" screen of the iPhone 5S. This is the whole secret. Most Android smartphones have screens calibrated differently and instantly respond to accidental touches and pressing the wrong interface elements. The Galaxy S7 was no exception here, but in a couple of days to you can get used to it.

Software

Galaxy S7 runs under Android control 6.0.1s latest version TouchWiz skin that has never looked so good. It still lacks frivolities, intricate settings, but at least it is smooth and fast. After iOS, it can be used comfortably. In experimental features, we added the ability to remove the application menu, in which icons are displayed immediately on desktops, as in iOS, MIUI, EMUI, Flyme OS and the latest LG UX. According to rumors, bare Android will also soon lose the application menu. But that's not the only thing added to the new TouchWiz.

Let's start with the main points. Instead of Google Now, the left desktop is given over to the Briefing application, which is integrated into the Flipboard shell. It turns off, but there is much more news and articles here than Google Now offers, so you can leave it. Google Assistant and Now On Tap are activated with a long press on the Home button. Double-tapping the button launches the camera from anywhere and even from the lock screen, this is a very useful feature. Hold call button latest applications starts split screen mode.

In the settings, frequent functions should be put on the top position; by default, not all useful sections are there. There is also a setting of display modes, detailed audio parameters, a memory management and energy saving manager. Background shading is optionally added to desktop icons to make them appear the same size. The gesture control setting has not gone anywhere. New to TouchWiz is the always-on display mode, which displays a clock, calendar, or picture on the lock screen. This function can hardly be called useful, it diverts attention to the smartphone, because the calendar or clock on the locked display is constantly moving (otherwise the display burn-in would not take long), besides, it affects the autonomy of the device. Another useful addition was the Game Launcher, which automatically collects games in one folder. With the help of Game Tools during games, touch buttons are disabled, screen recording is activated, screenshots are taken and notifications are turned off, it is possible to increase or decrease the resolution of the game. One-handed mode on such a diagonal is not very useful, and the simple style of the desktop is useful for older people or those who do not need all the TouchWiz features.

Pre-installed apps are scarce and you have to give credit to Samsung for that, which used to be a major problem. But the company went too far, removing even the music player and video player. Luckily, they're easy to download from the Galaxy Add-on Store, just like other utilities, including those that come as gifts for S7 owners. But out of the box installed Instagram, WhatsApp, package Microsoft Office. The Samsung Members program deserves special attention. It diagnoses a smartphone, communicates with support and provides service workers remote access to the device for setting and optimizing parameters.

There is not much to say about iOS, for the most part it has not changed since iOS 7, and the main improvements relate to appearance and some specific features. For tablets, iOS 9 added a split screen and picture-in-picture, for phones there were in-depth search and Siri capabilities, advanced features of native applications. iOS 9.3 brought Night Shift mode (makes the screen warmer for night reading and fast sleep), improved performance and stability, some additional settings in the Health app and Touch ID support in notes. In the iPhone 6S review, you will read more about the system and how 3D Touch works, after all, it has also been part of iOS recently, and in the iOS 10 review, you can find out what Apple has prepared for its users for the fall.

Camera

Compared to the S6 and Note 5, the most significant upgrade in the S7 was the camera of the smartphone. Its characteristics: 12 MP, Dual Pixel, 1.4 microns, autofocus, flash, optical image stabilization, f / 1.7, 4K video recording. The resolution has been reduced compared to its predecessors, the pixel size has been increased, the pixels themselves have been upgraded, the aperture has been made wider, the focus has been made lightning-fast - one of the best mobile cameras is ready. Why not the best? Lots of nuances.

Let's start with the fact that the camera is not one, but two. One uses a Samsung sensor, the other Sony, in daytime conditions there is no difference between them, but in the dark, the version with a Sony sensor turns green. Focusing on the S7 is impressively accurate and fast, but only in the center of the frame, where there are 35 focus points. Plus, it doesn't work in 1080p/60fps shooting mode when recording video, but it works in 4K. Sometimes blurring is possible, the percentage is about the same as on the iPhone 6S. Image post-processing sometimes seems aggressive, albeit with effective noise reduction. The consequence of this was an overestimated sharpness, which can be noticed not in every scene - landscape shooting, photographing slides and presentations with text (a visible stroke appears around the letters). In other situations and scenarios, you probably won’t notice it at all, resulting in photos with the correct white balance, natural colors and the correct exposure. For those who are worried about JPG sharpness, a professional mode is offered with the export of RAW files, which at the output can be easily processed in any advanced graphics editor. Even mobile Adobe Lightroom consumes them with a bang and reveals them more fully Galaxy camera S7 edge. Moment: The camera always starts at automatic mode, so for the pros it is recommended to put a shortcut to the Pro-camera mode on the desktop in order to immediately launch it. The distortion issue, widely hyped by some users, has already been fixed programmatically in one of the latest updates.

Otherwise, we have a wonderful camera, which, whatever one may say, requires getting used to. The script "got it and shot it" does not always work here. iPhone 6S in this regard shows itself as well as any iPhone before. It may not take the best and sharpest shot in the world, but it will just take a good picture as quickly as possible. Knowing all the features of the S7 camera, it will be easier to get an impressive shot. Not easier than on the iPhone, but easier than not knowing the features. For patience and work, the S7 camera will reward you with minimal noise, clear pictures in not the most best conditions, good background blur in macro and great food photos (food bloggers take note). Below is a comparison of shots from the iPhone 6S, where the Korean flagship is on the left and the American flagship is on the right.

Performance, tests, sound

There are two modifications of the smartphone, one with a Snapdragon 820 chipset, the other with Exynos 8 Octa 8890. The second one is delivered to Russia and most countries of the world, and this is good. The Samsung chipset is strong and performant, with top benchmarks, low heat, and no significant throttling or issues in the games we tested. In AnTuTu, the device selects 130,828 points, 2161/6554 in Geekbench, in Vellamo - 6253/3555/3471 points, Epic Citadel - 58.4 fps in Ultra-quality, in GFXBench - 7.9/15/15/28/27/40 /53/86 fps, 3DMark - 2158 points. Interface slowdowns are practically excluded, although the system is not immune from application crashes.

Asphalt 8, Unkilled, Dead Effect 2 and Implosion run quickly and smoothly at maximum quality settings. With the iPhone 6S, things are the same, the results in the benchmarks are also comparable (I don’t give them here, because iOS doesn’t even have half of these tests, for clarity, evaluate the latest AnTuTu rating). Both devices noticeably heat up their cases. The heating is even here and there, but the warming of the right edge of the device is slightly more pronounced in the S7. Both devices are better to use in cases if you plan to play for a long time, although you will most likely not be able to play for a long time. Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on battery for about 4 hours of screen with a fairly active load ( Galaxy version S7 with edge display lasts longer and heats up less). iPhone 6S is discharged in the same time. if you use it to the fullest. Both devices will last a day, but for this they need to be let go at least sometimes. The advantage of the Galaxy S7 here can be called fast charging, because in 90 minutes the 3000 mAh battery is fully charged. The iPhone 6S, with its 1715 mAh, takes longer to charge if you use the charger from the iPad, and much longer if you use the bundled charger from the iPhone.

The sound of smartphones in headphones has become an important criterion for many users and for me personally, so it was interesting to compare these two devices using Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H6 headphones. The comparison showed that the iPhone 6S sounds cleaner and more detailed, wider, and has more headroom. The Galaxy S7 sounds good, most users with simpler headphones won't be upset. If you dig deeper into the settings, play around with imitation tube sound and tune the sound specifically to your ear, you can achieve a slightly more interesting experience from the device. The iPhone 6S is much simpler in this regard and it is problematic to adjust its sound except for the built-in equalizer and third-party players.

conclusions

The Galaxy S7 is undoubtedly Samsung's best flagship, offering maximum performance and a cool camera in a stylish glass and metal body. The device is not without nuances, but ideal smartphones does not happen, and the iPhone 6S is also very far from a dream device. Should I upgrade from iPhone 6S to S7? Yes, if you don't depend on Apple services and do not have a strong attachment to a certain set of software that looks or works a little worse on Android. At least until the fall, Samsung's flagship will find something to keep you busy, and then the iPhone 7 will be released. You should definitely look into the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge if you've owned all the past Samsung flagships or top solutions of competitors and look for a worthy replacement for them. Until the end of the year in the world of Android is unlikely to happen something more significant than the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge (except perhaps the Galaxy Note 7). Despite some shortcomings, the S7/S7 edge currently has almost no competitors among Android and most likely will not have them for a long time.

Today, Apple introduced its new products - these are the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro 12.9 and much more. Nevertheless, we are interested in smartphones and therefore we will immediately compare the new iPhone 6s and Galaxy S6. It will be interesting to see how the market will change with the advent of the next iPhone.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is rightfully proud of its Super AMOLED display, which was recognized as the best among smartphones until the Galaxy Note5 came along. Still, the 5.1-inch screen is one of the best, and it has a Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels, 577ppi).

And what does the iPhone 6s offer in response? Just a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. On paper, it all looks very boring, but, nevertheless, Apple's displays look just as good in comparison, and the image is just as clear.

The only thing that really interested us was the 3D Touch technology, which was the evolution of Force Touch. iPhone screen 6s is now able to recognize 3 degrees of pressure. This will be useful in various programs and has already been implemented in additional interface features.

For example, a light touch on an email address will open the preview menu, pressing harder - it will already be possible to read the mail and work with it. In general, while it looks like a little trick, without any serious functional load. There is potential in this, but Apple cannot reveal it yet.

More on iPhone presentations The 6s was talking about how the screen is unique and that it now has a uniform backlight and is 3 times brighter than the screen in the sixth iPhone. A rather dubious statement, so previous iPhone models were bad? One way or another, Super AMOLED screens have reached a pinnacle where Apple only looks from afar.

Camera

And this is another area where Samsung excels. The Galaxy S6 arrived at the beginning of the year, but it has a 16-megapixel f/1.9 camera capable of shooting 4k video. None of the released smartphones could surpass the S6 in quality. Apple has already forced to improve the camera in the iPhone 6s, as we have seen an 8-megapixel camera for many years, and now it has “grown” to 12 megapixels. For the first time, an iPhone camera has double-digit resolution.

Also, the camera in the iPhone 6s can shoot 4k video. And the front camera has now begun to match the competitor - a 5-megapixel module is installed, capable of shooting in low light with quality. By the way, instead of a flash, the screen itself will now be used for selfies - although this is far from new.

Both smartphones have fast autofocus, are not afraid of low light, have accurate color reproduction, dual-tone flash and HDR mode.

By the way, Apple advertised another "revolutionary" new feature called "Live Photos". With a long press on any photo, it turns into a video. But in fact, it's just a photo, when clicked, a small clip is played, created from the frames before and after the shooting itself. Thanks to Apple's APLI, any application can work with Live Photo. Too bad it's actually just a short video.

Performance

It's even amazing to see Apple smartphone immediately 2GB of RAM, because for many years in a row iPhone models were stubbornly 1GB each. Indeed, today is a significant day. Samsung has slowly moved up to 3GB of RAM, so no one at the presentation said that the iPhone 6s had grown to 2GB. But here you can argue a lot and be sure to recognize the fact that the Cupertino team managed to achieve the ideal operation of the hardware and software.

We were also promised a performance increase of 80-90%, as the new 64-bit A9 has already been installed in the iPhone 6s. Sounds pretty loud, but Samsung also used its own 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor in the Galaxy S6 - a huge step up from the Snapdragon 801 that was in the previous flagship model. Still, we'd like to see more performance despite the large amount of RAM. Don't forget that a 2560 x 1440 pixel screen has a big impact on overall system performance.

Design

Alas, nothing has changed here. new iPhone 6s is exactly the same as last year's model. Yes, smartphones are really beautiful, stylish and this is a brand simple Apple design. But fans of showing off will have to mention out loud that they have the newest iPhone model, otherwise it is simply impossible to notice. Of course, if you do not buy yourself a pink iPhone 6s.

Samsung released the Galaxy S6 completely different, it is now unlike any of its predecessors. The flagship has a body made of durable metal and glass, which was lacking in the Galaxy S5. In fact, many people got tired of plastic and many demanded to improve the build quality. The new generation Gorilla Glass also adds durability.

Unfortunately, this choice of materials and design forced Samsung to abandon the removable battery, waterproof case and microSD card slot. However, the Galaxy S6 looks really luxurious.

Conclusion

There is no final conclusion yet and it will be possible to truly judge only after real tests. It may turn out that the iPhone 6s, even with "super-strong" aluminum alloy, will also bend easily in the pocket, and in the benchmark it will lag behind, despite the new A9 processor. However, this is a preliminary comparison.
